A research division is an interesting concept, but I'm uncertain if there's enough people who would be interested and keep it active. I can open up Project SALIGIA to more people so they can do some research work if they want.

As stated above, if people have interest in administrative work to please pitch the ideas to me. Instead of setting up a generic administrative division, I will hear where interest lies and consider tailoring something to those needs; note that this is a possibility, not a promise.

Yes to SALIGIA.

And you will certainly be hearing from me about that, since I had mentioned it a while ago to...someone but I don't remember who.

Something I would suggest is things such as 'Sector Controllers' in charge of overseeing the population, tax collection, fleet movements and supply distribution. Basically, with a team of droids, administrators for galactic sectors tasked with making sure they are both profitable and compliant. As well as this, the manufacturing of Star Destroyers and other such tech must come from factories, so possibly managers of these venues?

I'm going to suggest something fairly radical here. Pretty simple though and hardly an issue if it doesn't get seen to.

New temple worlds.

Why?

Because I've been RPing on Korriban, Ziost and Coruscant for nearly 3 years and I'm getting a tad tired of them. I do RP primarily with my Sith on other worlds in the story board nowadays, but it would just be cool and fresh to have new facilities for training and teaching. My enjoyment of writing a post is greatly heightened by the surroundings and environment I'm describing and I've lost a good deal of interest writing on the training boards because it's been in the same places for so long.

Might I suggest the following:

  • Academy for Sith Assassins on the shadow world Umbara.
  • Academy for Sith Warriors on Bastion, the military epicentre of the Imperium
  • Academy for Sith Sorcerers on Dromund Kaas, capital of the old Sith Empire OR Empress Teta, Geist Weiss' homeworld and a former Jedi training world.

It's not a popular opinion, but I'm massively into the Sith Classes and think they're a really fascinating aspect of the culture. I'm super into hierarchies and social structures in real life societies, aswell as different aesthetic and they add a juicy and interesting amount of conflict between different characters. I also find it allows for more aesthetic and cultural richness among Sith.

To have separate boarding schools and hang out places for each class in a sort of segregated way gives an opportunity for cool scenarios (Warriors trashing Sorcerer academy? **** yeah.) It also makes sense since the Sith are super organized and fascistic and like to discriminate against each other XD

So yeah! As I said, hardly an issue if the answer is no.

I do feel that this would indeed be nice. It also would mesh nicely with our civil war arc, I feel, if you wanted to go that route. And say someone on one of the sides set up these temples. Just spitballing, really, but having additional temples in general, or at least in the spectrum of Marf's idea with each being given a specific sphere of influence (Sorc, Warrior, Assassin), is nifty thrifty.

Yes, it could definitely mesh with the Civil War. I was actually a little disappointed the separatists weren't being lead by the Warmaster as it could have been more class-orientated.

but I'm just an autistic weirdo who loves writing about the Class system and the hierarchy.

Karl Marx would be proud.

I like the temple idea.

I especially like the idea of the Sith and the Imperial Armed Forces under one roof, instead of letting the Sith be "those guys in their temples in far worlds that we only see when some Jedi needs killing"

In a project surrounding a fanon era I'm working on, the Warriors are the lower class. They're seen as cannon fodder by the Sorcerers who dominate the upper hierarchy (as was the case in the caste system in ancient times). The Warriors, as the leaders of the Imperial Military see the IAF as natural allies and fellow soldiers, as opposed to the snotty wizards in dresses who see the IAF as beneath them. The Sorcerers disdain the Warriors because they fear their aggressive and rebellious nature will lead them to bring the Empire's order and stability to chaos, which ironically, is exactly what happens.

Though I understand that's just Marf's world, and not necessarily relevant to SWRP. That's just an example though, of how the class structure can provide really interesting story opportunities.

The different academies (in my fanon story, not SWRP) also develop different reputations and aesthetic. The Assassin Academy on Korriban is very iki, stylish and Japanese based. The Sorcery Academy is essentially Hogwarts, really fancy and decadent. The Warrior's Academy is a mix between a modern, futuristic military school and St. Trinians XD

but that's just me musing and stuff.

Warriors are just so ugly and lame that we sent them to their own world so we didn't have to see them constantly.

I sent this to Weiss in a private message but I thought I would post this here for everyone else's opinion.

I mentioned how I feel that the average trooper within the Imperial Army doesn't have much to do in the way of missions. They seem a little more on the two to three man jobs that a sith or maybe a bounty hunter or a special agent would take. So I suggested that we introduce Operations. The system I came up with would have it on different levels and this would include everyone that is a part of the group for that level.

The levels would be,
Legion Level Operations - Large scale assaults and battles on planets, collaborating with many members of the Faction.
Company Level Operations - A Large scale operation that could include securing bases, or perhaps taking care of small uprisings within a city or section of a planet. Garrisons and assault and defense. Large patrols within a hostile enviroment.
Platoon Level Operations - A smaller scaled operation compared to the other two mentioned so far. This could be something a little more covert. Infiltrating a base, making routine patrols that go haywire or perhaps an assault on a fortified building where the platoon enters from the sky.
Squad Level Operations - Small scale operations that require stealth. Or a really small duty in a city like investigating a problem at a cantina. This could also mean a special operation that requires a squad to sabotage or assassinate a target or perhaps protect a target.

Now many of the Squad and Platoon level operations can be similar but it would be more difficult to conduct a patrol as a squad where as a platoon can cover more ground while a platoon can conduct a infiltration operation but more operatives means a larger chance of being discovered.

I can see also operations that are linked. Where a squad level operation must be completed before a platoon level or company level operation can be taken care of.

Here is a example, better than the one I sent to Weiss:
------

OPERATION "Violent Nexu"

Squad (Insert the squads identification here who has accepted it) attached to (fill out the details here as well) you have been tasked with the infiltration of a rebel base on Planet A. Your mission is to gather intelligence on the bases weapon systems as well as personnel strength. You are to remain unseen during this mission. Should the base contain any ray shields or generators that do not allow any orbital or artillery bombardment you are to disable them. Preferrebly without the use of explosives.

This will allow your company to lay siege to the base and capture it allowing further movement into the (city, or larger base or capital, air field, manufacturing facility). Please complete this in a timely manner.

Extra Details:
-You will be given a virus to upload that will cause any shield generators to malfunction for at least 24 hours.
-Your team will be inserted one mile out of the base under the cover of night. This will allow for maximum cover for this operation.
-Squad Leader will have full control of mission and decide what weapons and equipment will be needed. Remember this is a silent operation.

-------

That is a small example I just threw together at this moment.

Another aspect I like about this is that it can start our however the squad leader wants. If he wants to start in a briefing room with all his squad mates or with the CO and XO of his Company. I also think that if a squad, platoon or company leader accepts an operation then all members within said unit must participate to simulate being within a military unit. You do not get to pick and choose if you will participate in a duty, be it sabotage or perhaps just a simple patrol.

This could also work well with the Rebellion or other factions that are at war. Two missions could be similar to an extent and time related and whichever faction finishes first gets a greater advantage within the war or perhaps the Main story line roleplays. Like if the Empire destroys certain installations used by the rebels then during the main battles later they cannot use it or if the rebels destroy a supply line the empire cannot supply soldiers in the fight causing major problems.

Just let me know what you think. I would also be willing to write up several operations for each level if the admin team and all members within the faction think this is a good idea.

I had always wondered why there weren't sub-boards for temples on places like these. Dromund Kaas struck me as especially surprising, to be honest. I'd fully support more temple sites for the Sith.

Especially since it sounds like Ziost [my personal favorite] is about to wrecked fairly soon-ish.

I will address everything tomorrow when I'm on a computer, though will address the temple query. Something I had considered was setting up the temple board similar to the Jedi in that there's only one board for all temples. Would there be interest in ICly establishing new temples?

I personally wouldn't mind. As it has been said before, establishing new temples could fit in well with the civil war aspect. Groups fracture and form new groups among the Sith, then those groups head off to carve out their own enclaves across the Empire dedicated to drawing in supporters for their cause - be that attracting loyalists/Coterie members, or trying to establish "safe havens" for those Sith who might not want to have any part of the infighting.

Establishing new temples ICly would be great, as it would give interesting RP opportunities for characters to like, pack up their stuff and ship out XD

I personally would prefer a board for each temple, to keep things more organized and make threads easier to find and such.

Btw, anyone else who is a nerd for the classes and hierarchy, feel free to hit me up for a chat, I love talking about this stuff ^,^

I do like the idea of establishing temples ICly, like the Jedi. Gives it that sense of accomplishment knowing you helped do a thing, as well as means we can break away and form our own special clubs that no warriors are ever allowed in.

Also down for the separation of temples with their own respective board. It helps keeps things nice and tidy.

If the Civil War takes a while, perhaps we can split it after faction.

Separatists board includes Korriban temple
Loyalists board includes Coruscant (and Ziost temple)

If players create a Sith enclave/temple, they can post them in their respective sub-faction's board. This way you keep the separation and thus keep it organized, but you don't have a gazillion boards for each temple. (just a lot of stickies :p)

In terms of temples, I'd also like to suggest Ilum as a viable location due to its significance with the Force and closeness to Imperial territory.

But whatever happens, having new temples to support different subfactions in the Sith would be perfect. It'd provide plenty of opportunities for interesting stories to take root.
