She grinned at him when he caught up, though most would have been sore at being beaten, in truth it was because they probably could have kept trading blows until the end of the night before either one would have fallen. Far easier for her to be the losing side and still get some sympathy. She chuckled, then grimaced at the feeling of it radiating up her ribs, then gave a playful wink. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think the drinks were to soothe my ego," came the reply, but she nodded.

"Won a ship, huh? That's a stroke of good luck... sure, why not. I just need to get..."
she grunted, wincing as she slowly pulled herself upright, "...up... and moving. But a drink sounds really nice, not gonna lie."

"Consider it more of an apology." He replied with a warm smile. But she seemed tough and able to handle herself. During their fight he noticed who, or rather what she was. A fellow force user. A Jedi. Byron tried to think back and was pretty sure he had at least seen her once before on Ajan Kloss. Judging by the way she looked back at him and the fact she seemed to have held back told him she also likely recognized his own affinity with the living Force. She had yet to bring it up though since the fight ended. Maybe she didn't want to talk about it or just wanted to wait until later.

"I actually don't even know what kind of ship it is. I think it's not too far from the Scarab judging by the directions they gave me." Byron scratched his stubbly chin. One side of his face was bruised substantially by a strong left hook the Pantoran had given him. The man's mouth opened and closed a few time and making a pained face. "Screw it...I won so I'm going to be lazy. See if you can hail a taxi or something, I'll pay but just gimme a sec." He went inside a corner store and grabbed a few things. Loaded up with two bags of assorted items he returned to Indy. In their shared state of injury he didn't want to walk all the way to this new ship and also his old scrap heap with additional purchases in each hand. If Indy peaked inside the bags she would see an assortment of junk food, sweet drinks as well as a few packaged adult beverages.

She wasn't going to discuss being a Jedi so readily out in the open; now that he seemed to understand too, she knew it was only a matter of time before it'd be brought up, but she would have hoped it would wait until they would get closer to the ship yard. She merely watched him limp off with a bemused stare, then flagged a taxi, waiting until he came back. Thankfully, she was relieved; limping back with these shared lumps would have been far more difficult than not, and it also meant they would have a chance to talk. She didn't recognize him as a knight; perhaps he was a Padawan. But then if so, where was his Master?

She settled into the back seat with a sigh, and waited for him to arrive. When at last he did and directions were given, they'd be off, and she gave him a grin.

"Nice to see someone similar to my walk of life not afraid to get their hands a little dirty,"
she spoke up, gold eyes sparkling. "I am sorry you got dragged into their mess, though."

Taking a deep breath, Byron smiled and chuckled at Indy's comment. "Yeah? Not many of us slugging people across the jaw for creds." It was outlandish and wild to say the least.

What came as a surprise was her apology. One hand reached into a bag and pulled out a cold bottle and held it against the part of his face the Pantoran had left a mark on. "Who's mess? The locals guys?" The padawan thought she had arrived around the same time as he had and only been on the planet for a short while.

It didn't matter all that much in the end to Byron. "Don't worry about it. I think I'll manage with what I got paid. Hopefully this blast boat isn't a hunk of junk."

The two of them would take the ride to the space port. The engineer paid the cab driver and with some assistance from signs were able to locate the berthing for Byron's new ship. Turning the corner and seeing the Glaive class blast boat sitting there made the man's eyes widen. A few steps forwards and he made his way closer to the ship, eyes looking up and down, around its contours. Soon Byron was walking around the landing gear and then trotting up to the loading ramp. "Well damn..." A broad smile on his face, impressed to have a better ship than he had expected. He was more than impressed, he was ecstatic. Turning back to Indy he had a wide grin on his face. "Let's check out the inside." without waiting for a response he went into the ship.

She grinned at his words, then lightly nudged him. "Yeah, the local guys. Honestly didn't think they'd square us off each other. But good then, I won't. I just hope you don't get a lemon of a ship," she commented, eyeing the view past the taxi.

She whistled low under her breath at the ship. That lucky karker. She chuckled and followed up after him, golden eyes speculative. "Not bad for letting me get my ass kicked," she commented wryly, but offered him a sore wink. "Perhaps I might ask for a ride now and then... not bad at all."

Byron was confident in his ability to defend himself but he knew, especially now, that 'letting him win' was potentially more than just a joke from Indy. The Pantoran was a few years older than her and probably knew significantly more about the Force than he did. In a real fight, he would have been much worse off.

A warm smile came across his face at the compliment to his new ship. "I'll give you a ride anytime!" His voice coming from inside the ship and turning on all the lights but then stopped and blushed slightly at how lewd that sounded. "My ship I mean..." His face scrunched up as he realized how lame he sounded.

Hopefully the pantoran didn't notice. "Uh...I'll take us to the Scarab." He began preflight checks and diagnostics. "Unless you just want to chill out here for a bit." The padawan's eyes looked towards the blue skinned woman to see which one she wanted. Byron wouldn't mind hanging out though he felt bad about leaving his astromech alone at his previous ship's crash site. At some point he would need to get over to it. "Kriff...this thing has some firepower" Byron was not one to spring for ships with heavy ordenance but he had to admit he admired the design of the blast boat.

She laughed heartily at his exclamation, followed by a sheepish note afterwards. She was duly impressed; she liked her own ship fine, but perhaps she ought to take up shock-boxing more often. "All good, Padawan," she grinned, waving off the comment. "I know what you meant."

She contemplated hanging out; truth be told, she was still worn out from going through the hyperlanes hunting for artifacts, and this had been a welcome, if unusual, break. She tilted her head in thought, then something occurred to her.
"You had a droid with you, right?" she asked, glancing about. "Maybe we should go out and get him... and then come back?"

She placed her hands on her hips, grinning.
"The choice, as they say, is yours, I believe."

"Yeah, Bee Gee Ell Zero though I just call her Big Low." He answered when Indy asked. The sassy droid was a peculiar one and abnormally sneaky for an astromech in Byron's opinion. All of his tools were back on the Scarab and he doubted anybody was going to try and steal the ruined quad five courier.

Without hesitation, the padawan took the two passengers to the crash site. It looked pretty bad from the air and it pained Byron to see the Scarab in its damaged state. Ever since he left home and joined the Jedi Order he had been living out of the ship. Days maybe weeks worth of effort put into maintaining the ship and customizing it. He was sad as he realized this would be probably the last day he would have piloted the ship.

As the ship descended and landed next to the wreckage it was clear there had been partial fires. The air outside still smell of acrid smoke faintly though the smoke was gone. +Bweeo, kzzt brrp+ The binary voice of Big Low came first and then the rolling astromech popped into view. A single manipulator arm popped out of its housing and waved before rolling back out of view, returning to whatever work it had been doing since returning.

"You wait here, I'll grab some of the stuff we'll need. Help yourself to whatever." His hand motioned towards the food and drinks that he purchased. There were supplies and cargo on the Scarab from before that Byron had been hauling. Byron could tell that Indy was worn out and hauling all his gear for him onto the new ship was not enticing. So instead the man just carried what he could with some grunts and groans. Aside from that, he filled in his astromech about the events that had transpired since she had left.

She grinned at the name. It sounded like something she would have heard in a cheesy 'Net broadcast, but she wisely didn't comment on that, instead just sat down with a grin. "Cute name," she nodded.

Seeing the crash site, she had to sigh a little bit. Without her own ship, she could imagine she would have been almost bereft. Most of her research notes were in there, as well as some small artifacts she kept to herself. Nothing of true value... but they were valuable to her. She gave a wave to his comment of staying put, giving a grateful smile.
"I'll help out in just a sec," came the easy comment, but she did see a sweets bag in that mix he brought...

After a few minutes she came back out slowly to his direction, head tilted to let out a low whistle.
"You're lucky you landed this thing..." she muttered, mostly in utter disbelief. "Any way I can help?"

The knight was persistent and Byron appreciated the help. "I don't know if I'd consider myself lucky..." The astromech droid warbled a sound of disagreement in response. "...but it could have been worse. Still would have been better to not have crashed at all though."

He sighed but shrugged off the somber mood to look at the silver lining. "I mean, I guess I probably wouldn't have crossed paths with you here if I hadn't crashed, or got a new ship." Byron paused and looked at what had been moved so far and prepped for transfer before pointing out what was needed. At some other point he would facilitate the dismantling of important parts on the Scarab so they could either be transferred to the Glaive blast boat or some other ship that Byron didn't have yet.

"Hmm, you think I should change the name of the new ship?" He asked Indy after they finished. His butt slumped into a cushioned seat and set a ruddy looking bottle down on one of the counters inside the blastboat. "Skylark Horizon...I think I kind of like it as is actually." He repeated the name of the ship outloud before looking towards the Pantoran. It cost a fee to change a ship's official registration and probably wasn't worth the trouble. The name brought a smile to his face anyways and given the day's events it suited the ship.

"Sounds very regal," she grinned, leaning back. She was grateful to help, actually. He seemed a good guy, alignment of Jedi nonwithstanding, and helping him along seemed a better bet than leaving him to test his luck to the mercy of gangs. But another question nudged in the back of her mind, and she kept silent for a couple beats before asking it.

"So if you're a Padawan... do you not have a Master?"
she queried, violet head tilted to one side. Though then again, these days Padawans seemed short of masters in many regards, mostly because so many of the masters seemed more occupied with other things... herself included, she thought with an edge of guilt.

"Not officially, no." He said, wondering when that was going to change. "I got some training from...Master Grayza but most of my training has been in groups with other Padawans." In fact it was because of the disproportionate number of padawans that made Byron want to find a way that was more effective at training new additions to the Jedi Order. His transition to Ajan Kloss and his time there was not smooth and he felt lost or in limbo. Byron felt that wasn't a good impression to give to the future generations of the Jedi Order.

"How about you? The way you say padawan makes me believe that you're at least a Knight yourself." He took a big gulp of the satisifying drink and eyed her. It wasn't like the there were rank insignias on Jedi robers. In fact there weren't even any uniforms for them to wear and instead just a popular aesthetic from what Byron observed thus far.

"just a head's up..." He stuck his index finger out to point towards Indy without letting go of his bottle. "...anytime you want to board my ship in the future I require a mandatory super cool handshake." He gave a friendly smile in addition to wink.

She grinned slightly at his comment of her not being a Padawan. She nodded slightly, adjusting her jacket. "Right on the money there," she commented, resisting calling him 'kid'. He seemed roughly her age, though there seemed to be some difference between the two of them, it surely wasn't much of an age gap.

Though, that wasn't unusual, not all of their new faces were young children anymore. More frequently than not they were older, with more experience in the grounded galactic experience. It was always a harder adjustment to the strictness of Jedi life in comparison. She knew many lived with her covert experience, but she could never live the monk-like life that so many more applied to. She sought to learn, always, and being temple-bound sounded of a nightmare.

She chuckled at his words, swiping a bottle of her own.
"Duly noted. Next time we cross paths, I'll think of something," she replied, leaning back. She seemed to contemplate something... perhaps this was the sign she needed. It was time to get a Padawan, and here was a young man before her that seemed to speak of promise.

"Why not train with me? Just without kicking the kriff out of each other in shock-boxing,"
she chuckled, tilting her head. "Would you be interested?"

More training was always welcome in Byron's mind. He had the affinity with the force and not utilizing it felt extremely irresponsible. At the offer from the woman he smiled. "I'd like that." Thinking about training at this moment though reminded him also of the injuries they both needed to heal from.

"Oh, suppose I should take us back to the landing zone. Might need to re-up on payment for the parking space." The previous owner wasn't going to pay for the spot for another day. Getting up from his seat with a bit of a groan, Byron headed back to the cockpit and would bring the ship back around. He would arrange for the Scarab to be sold to a scrapper or some other buyer later that day.

"You came to Hollastin for a reason right? Anything I can help out with?" Indy had arrived on the planet with her own means of transport. Usually Jedi were on missions and not just wandering around. Maybe he could stick with Indy until they headed back to Ajan Kloss.

She paused, then shook her head with a slight chagrined smile. "Unfortunately not anything too important; my specialty is Jedi artifacts, but the man I wished to meet who might have pointed out a trove of them has passed on; he was very old, and I was hoping for some of his expertise." She gave a small shrug and a smile, but didn't seem too off-put.

"I don't often meet many who know the history of our order; I'm heading back to Ajan Kloss to report and catch up on research."
She grinned, crossing her arms. "Much as I wouldn't mind puddle-jumping with your shiny new toy, I have much to catch up on."

"Artifacts? So like you dig up old Jedi bones and stuff to bring to a museum?" He was uneducated when it came to such things.

Byron took her words as a compliment and shook his head humbly. "I don't know if I'd say I know a lot. I just have picked up what I can so far." Most of it was group training but on occasion he was able to have an mission or two with another member of the Order.

"I'm headed back there probably in a few standard cycles. Still have a few things to do. Hopefully I'll get back in time to not miss you." It sounded like the Pantoran stayed pretty busy but Byron wanted become a Jedi Knight. Indy just felt like the person who had some wisdom and experience that could help him. Not to mention he felt like they got along pretty well. He brought the ship in for a landing at the starport where it had sat previously. Leaving the cockpit he returned to grab a fresh beverage and open up one of the bags of junk food. He felt like just being lazy for the rest of the day, or at least the next few hours. By lazy, he meant get a buzz going. When was the last time I got drunk? Probably not since joining the Jedi Order.

She smiled and lightly touched his shoulder at his words, tilting her head. "Don't doubt praise; you did well in the ring, I was very impressed with your reflexes and reaction time. Soon, I have no doubt you'd have the strength to beat me single-handedly."

She grinned, then stood, stretching to ease the stiffness in her legs. No doubt in the next few days she'd be feeling every punch... but it'd buy her time to think over her newly acquired student... and perhaps, she could meet up again with Master Grayza about this particular student. Instead she winked at him, and gave a small wave.
"Until next time then, Byron," she called over her shoulder.

"I'll make sure to have a badass handshake for you next time we meet."
