DESCRIPTION​

The Striker projectile pistol is a small slugthrower manufactured by Oriolanis Defense Systems. Though already theoretically replaced in the company's product lineup by the Mauler, the Striker is still produced on a limited basis despite its age, and is sold primarily on backrocket worlds or to beings who can't afford a proper blaster, which is seen as a far superior option.

The Striker, being a slugthrower, hardly packs a punch compared to the more powerful energy-based hand weapons that are available. Shots from the Striker, like nearly all slugthrowers, are only fatal if they hit a vital area, and even the cheapest forms of body armor are generally sufficient to stop a slug fired from one of these weapons. Their ammunition capacity is also limited, with just 16 rounds being stored in a magazine that slots into the grip of the weapon.

LEGALITY​

Legal. Ownership of slugthrowers is not restricted in most of the Galaxy, however openly carrying such a weapon in public might be on more "civilized" worlds. On less civilized worlds, it still might draw unwanted scrutiny.
