Kai's ranger class scout ship sat in the darkness of space. They one jump away from Nar Shaddaa but were waiting for someone, or rather something. A shipment of small arms was coming to Nar Shaddaa and the Grysk planned on intercepting them. There were a couple of things to keep in mind while the ship sat in the darkness of space.

There was not enough information to pinch the smuggler coming in to take the shipment at a specific time. The undercover legionnaire and the company he kept were forced to wait for a long period of time. Their ships were powered down to prevent being detected by scanners on the arrival of their target. But that meant their ship was getting very cold in the meantime. The skeletal like dark sider shrunk into his flight suit to try and stifle his discomfort.

Without much in the way of entertainment Kai did not know how to occupy his time. Alone in his cockpit he closed his eyes. It was time he meditated. Eventually an iconic hyperspace exit occurred not too far away. He did not know what kind of ship it was yet. The scanners were operating at just enough power that it alerted him of a ship's arrival and general area but not the make or model. He sent a call to Kaarz just to make sure he had not fallen asleep. "Eyes up. It's show time."

This was a job that Arden could get behind. Swooping in, hijacking a freighter, then flying off without a trace with their goods. This was the type of job that he was used to. And at times it proved to be quite fun as well. His employer was...odd...but that didn't matter. The money made up for it and he stood a fantastic chance at getting some personal gain out of this as well. He was definitely going to try and get a crate for himself out of this as well...

His SS-54 shot out of hyperspace, with nothing but the black void looming ahead of him. He had a location sent for meeting his employer and quickly altered course towards it. "This is the Flyin' Choobie, checkin' in." he hailed as he cruised towards the seemingly dead ship floating around the location. He was a bit taken back by this. Was this his employer idling around or just some unlucky wreck floating dead in the void?

A quick scan confirmed that this was thankfully his employer simply idling around. "Enjoying yourself?" he quipped as he came to a halt to the side of the ship, powering down as well.

He was ready for action, fully armoured with his weapons strapped to him. He was itching for a boarding, but sadly they had to partake in some space combat first.

Malakai wondered if he was going to be doing this job alone. But his partner arrived after the other ship entered the system. Well they know we're here now. Thanks He thought to himself. But he had to deal with it either way even though they weren't going to have the same degree of surprise as he would have liked.

Flicking switches he began to fire up the ship and had the vessel jet off towards the target freighter. The long range sensors of the scout ship Malakai was piloting had its uses. For one it told him that the light freighter was an old and modified YT-1000 model. "No time to chat. Immobilize that light freighter. We don't want them jumping away before we can board them." He replied to Arden.

There would be a few moments before the two ships became obvious hostiles to whomever was behind the controls of the smuggling freighter. The older design at least made Malakai hopeful that they would be able to make the ship inoperable and maybe they wouldn't jump to hyperpsace and risk a mishap with another ship attached.

Kai didn't waste any time to spring into action. As soon as the freighter came flying in, he jumped to action. Arden didn't waste any time, either. He went balls to the wall, firing up his engine and flying at the clunky old freighter. He picked up on the ship's scanners looking him over, but it would be too late for them.

His ship roared through the void, straight at the old freighter. By the time the turrets started to move, it was too late. As soon as he came in range he let loose with his ship's forward cannons. The space between him and his target lit up with crimson as bolts rained down onto his prey. The bolts hit home, battering away at the shields. After a few distorted hits the ship's shields went down, shuddering under the impact. When the shields went down, he kept flying at the other ship until he had the attention of the defensive turrets. He broke off and kept at a steep angle, making it hard for the turrets to track him.

He tried to keep the diversion going for as long as possible. "Alrigh' lad, take her out." he called out over the comms as he held the controls tightly at the awkward angle. "An' if you don't mind, make it snappy." he continued as he straightened out to come around for another strike. If the crew of that freighter had any experience, they'd have let him go already and focused on his partner's ship. He hoped they were stupid enough to try and score an easy kill.

Malakai made sure his ship came in from a slightly different vector. This was the first time he was flying with Arden and wanted to make sure they were giving eachother enough space. Plus it would help make things difficult for the smugglers on the light freighter.

The light assault ship belonging to the mandalorian streaked ahead. Malakai was not going flat out, in fact his speed was more or less the same. But manauvering around to flank the aft of the YT-1000 would give him a better shot. He only had a fixed frontal laser cannon and wanted to get a good angle on the engines.

Blasts from Arden's ship caused the shields of the light freighter to go down first. That was good. A shot from Malakai's scout ship caused the light from the smuggler's ship's engines to falter and darken. A smile grew accross the skullish face of the Grsyk. But it did not last as he felt a slight shake run through his ship followed by the warning beeps indicating his shields had taken a hit. He wasn't as good at fancy flying like Arden apparently.

As the ship came into view he spotted the Grysk's ship getting pummelled by cannon fire. He didn't waste any time and started another pass. As he came flying straight at the ship he opened fire. Cannon bolts tore into the ship's rear, causing a series of small explosions along the hull. Soon the turrets went down and whatever power was left on the ship died out. What's more was the fact that a hole tore open, ejecting two crew members into the void. Arden watched from his seat as the two figures floated off, their swaying and struggling coming to a halt as the cold embrace of the darkness claimed them.

"Ship's neutralized." he spoke over the comms, steering his ship closer to the disabled freighter. "I'll dock on this side. You take tha' one. We can clear it out from the sides an' meet in the middle. Just stay clear of the rear. Don't wanna open the wrong door while lookin' for the goods." he warned as his ship moved into position. The docking ring extended and locked in place. He calmly walked through the tube and came to a halt in front of the freighter's door. He proceeded to pack a liberally thick layer of welding putt around the door then stepped back a few steps.

He waited for Kai's word, his hand resting on his vambrace. His finger was ready to hit the ignition to break the door down. He was itching for a good fight in a spot like this. With tight corners and a fast pace. His pistols were loaded and his hands were ready to draw.

Malakai pulled out of the evasive manuevers hoping to get a follow up shot on the smuggler's vessel but the Mandalorian displayed why he was worth the credits the Grysk was paying him. "Damn...nice shot" He admitted at seeing the lights go dark, the engines quiet and the ceasing of weapon fire from the turrets. Arden must have damaged the reactor or shorted something out because the corellian made craft listed from being stopped mid manuever.

Pulling his controls around more gracefully this time he verified his ship had only taken damage to the shields. The docking tube extended and mirrored Arden's actions on the opposite side. "I'll give the signal to breach. You're wearing a suit with vac seals right?" He replied. The two would have to kneed and place the welding putty around the door. The Legionnaire also wanted to make sure his hired help would not die from accidental depressurization. But he was his own man and able to make his own choices.

After he finished placing the putty he waited an extra moment. Closing his eyes Malakai reached out towards the ship and tried to sense those inside. Fear, a lot of it, came from inside. It was like staring several animals backed into a corner. Kai knew there were at least two of them given the ship model. But it was good to know they had a third. But them being afraid did not mean they were not dangerous. The setting of the welding putty had given them time to probably make some kind of defensive stance. One at each docking ring, probably with rifle and armor, with the last one more towards the cockpit. He opened his eyes and spoke to Arden. "Breaching in three...two...one"

As they prepared to breach, Kai asked a question that made Arden's heart sink. After such an amazing display of piloting and Mandalorian lethality, he had to go and make a stupid mistake like that. "Ye obviously, ol' boy." he confidently reassured over the comlink, finishing up quickly with his welding putt. Then as quietly as possible he tried to sneak back into his ship to go find his pressurized suit and helmet to quickly throw on before needing to breach.

But as he started rushing back, Kai gave the word and started to breach. "Oh, kark..." he muttered as he spun on his heel to get back to the door, but unfortunately he lost his footing and landed face first with a loud thud on the floor of the docking tube. A muffled "Son of a karking b***h, mother kriffin' shi'e." sounded off over the comlink as he pushed up and hit the controls of his jetpack as well as the welding putt. He blasted forward, angling himself as his welding putt ignited. He hit the door with his shoulder when it was just weak enough to break open, blasting through it as he drew both pistols. "OYA WANKAHS!!!" he roared as he landed in a hallway, firing at whatever seemed to resemble a person. Unfortunately his humiliation would only escalate as he only hit a little astromech droid in the dome.

The crew member on his side, to make matters worse, was also smart enough to wait next to the door. And the hiss-and-click of a rifle behind him indicated that this spacer was more than prepared to fight to keep his ship safe...

@Darasuum

Roll to quickly rush back to the ship and get a properly pressurized suit for boarding the damaged vessel in time before the breaching starts. (Mild fail)

The hiss of the burning substance and the brightness was enough for Malaki to avert his eyes. Cursing and muffled noises made the Grysk furrow his brow. The hissing stopped and the sound of blaster fire through the disabled ship reached him.

The breaching job was not pretty and smoke still filled both ships though it was controlled so at least there was no risk of them all blowing up in the vacuum of space. Reaching out with his off hand he thrust it forward. Clang!

The forced open hatch settled on the deck loudly but not before a series of red blaster bolts came screaming through smoke and impacting against one of the walls of Malakai's ship. That was just enough for the dark sider to pin point where the presence of that shooter was. Three shots from his E-11 blaster rifle answered the smuggler followed by a cry of pain and then silence.

Walking through the smoke without much difficulty the Grysk stepped through make-shift portal. Exiting the obscuring smoke there was a corpse on the deck where the juncture between the other section of the ships resided. Silence had befallen Arden's position but reaching out he still sensed his presence though a heightened amount of anxiety.

While it sounded like things were going great on the other side of the ship, Arden was a little preoccupied. He stood still as he heard the light clicking of the man's rifle. He was shaking. "You don't wanna pull tha' trigger, mate." he said simply, slowly turning to get a sidelong look at him. "You wanna live? You lower tha' gun an' you hide under your bunk. Either tha' or you stay here an' I pu' a bolt through you." he continued, giving a rather morbid ultimatum.

He couldn't say which option the man would take, but his thinking gave Arden a long enough window to make a move. He managed to get his arms in a good position to fire his grapple line at the man's rifle. The cable wrapped around the rifle and with a hard tug he threw the man's aim off, causing him to miss the sudden surprised shot he let loose. In the same motion he brought a pistol up and shoved its barrel into the man's mouth. Before he even had a chance to try and beg for his life, it was cut short in a very quick and gruesome way. The missed shot also hit a fuse box, plummeting the ship, including the cockpit, in total darkness.

Arden stood in place for a moment, eyeing the corpse on the floor with the aid of his night vision. He retracted his grapple line and made his way to the cockpit. "This is Arden, makin' my way to the cockpit. What's your position?" he radioed in as his eyes scanned the hallways.

Coming to the hallway intersection he peaked around the corner. A blaster bolt narrowly missed his head and warranted a curse from the Grysk. Dropping to a nee he tried leaning at a different height to get a good angle on the last remaining crew member. Before he could even get a bead on his target another blaster bolt flew over the short distance of the hall. It hit Kai's blaster rifle, showering his flightsuit's helmet with sparks and causing the weapon to tumble out of his hands, wrent and smoking from the impact.

His wrist hurt from the destruction of his primary weapon but he stayed put against the wall. Whoever was shooting at him had a good angle and anything short of luck was probably going to get him shot.

As if on queue Arden's voice came over the commlink. "I'm a little pinned at the moment on my end." He said and grimaced as he pulled his blaster pistol from its holster. Checking the charge, he hoped that either the Mando pinched the man shooting at him or at the very least Kai wouldn't get shot.

Arden heard the blaster fire ahead of him, shortly followed by the voice of Kai over the comlink. He calmly approached from behind, navigating the dark halls with no effort at all. The quiet thuds of his footsteps was muffled by the deafening blaster fire flying at a corner ahead of him.

He reached for his concussion grenades and threw them past the Grysk into the cockpit. A few seconds later two explosions went off. The man inside dropped his gun as he screamed, clutching his ears in pain. The Mandalorian finally came to a halt beside Kai as he drew his pistols once more. "That's taken care of. Now, wha's next?" he asked as he continued into the cockpit. He kicked the rifle away and aimed at the dazed pilot, ready to kill him.

Something flew by his head and he saw Arden's follow through motion. The loud bang inside the confined space of the ship was still enough to cause Malakai to flinch and wait a moment. He had enough time to realize that the Mandalorian had thrown a grenade but thankfully it was just a concussion grenade. Had he thrown a fragmentation or thermal then the ship would have probably depressurized.

Arden moved into the cockpit and detained the only remaining smuggler. Malakai looked around to see if anything was locked down or in place that prevented them from getting the cargo. "Well we can't move the ship and unload it elsewhere." He wasn't complaining about Arden's crack shot disabling of the ship. It just gave them a different set of options. "We'll just have to split the cargo between our ships. These YT series can carry more than both our ships combined but I doubt he's packed to the brim with the booty we're wanting to take."

He tapped on some of the controls, checking on the cargo stowage to see how full it was. "I guess it depends on if you want your payment in credits or in materials." He was fine giving the Mandalorian a fair share of blasters and other arms that were stowed away as payment if that was what he preferred. The Grysk had credits to pay the man outright and not have to worry about moving the product. Malakai planned on also keeping and using the gear acquired here for his own operations on Nar Shaddaa.

Kai soon joined up in the cockpit, explaining the situation and checking for any more surprises. Arden placed a boot on the man's head to keep him down as he turned his head to look at the Grysk. He hummed in thought as he removed his boot from the man's head. "I'll take the gear." he said simply, before pulling the trigger to end the last survivor. "These peashooters ain't doin' it for me anymore an' I need the weapons. Go' some things in the works tha' they might be handy for." he explained as he holstered his pistols.

"I'd say a quarter of the shipment should suffice." he said as he turned to make his way to the cargo hold. Luckily it was in a completely different position than the core.

He opened the door and walked in, opening one of the crates. There were a bunch of interesting weapons in there, a pair of rather interesting pistols being among them. He took one out and inspected it for a moment, checking that it was loaded and in good condition. "Ello, you lit'le beau'y." he muttered as he holstered it, tossing aside one of his old pistols. His second pistol was slid in behind his back underneath his coat before he holstered a second one as well. "I've been wantin' to ge' my hands on these for a while now." he explained as he glanced at Malakai.

He closed up the crate and sat down on it. "No' a bad job, I'd say. Let's ge' this cargo ou' of here."

The point of taking a sizable amount of the blasters was to sell them. Malakai was happy to just let him take a single crate after they transported them to a safe spot if all he was going to do was take a few small arms for himself. But if the Mandalorian wanted to get paid in hardware to resell that was fine too. "Eh, if you're going to try and sell them take a third. Especially if you're going to take some for yourself. You want enough in volume to attract a buyer otherwise you're going to be selling them off to individual people one at a time like some back water blaster auctioneer."

Malakai would have probably been fine even giving him a bit more. It was important to have a good relation with the man. If he needed him in the future he hoped he could keep that in mind. Time would pass and the two bad boys emptied the arms into their two ships. Malakai even took some of the non-illicit cargo used as cover.

The bodies of the people would remain on board. Once they were finished he disconnected from the light freighter. The Rangemaster had a tractor beam and while not especially strong for combat situation he found a use for it here. Pulling the freighter along he would slowly speed up. The scout ship angled towards the center of the solar system where the sun was. When he got up to as fast as he could go with the light freighter in tow he cut the tractor beam. The dead ship carried on. It would take awhile, but eventually the light freighter would reach the center of the solar system and caught in the sun's gravity well before being utterly destroyed. "...and so you are returned to the stars..." He muttered to himself.
