Splackdown! Hutts seize Mantell.
In a stunning coup d'etat on Ord Mantell, Hutt Daimyo, @Mordeth Anjiliac is rumoured to have taken control of the underworld of the planet, authorities on the world have said. Rumoured to have taken place in the last few days, it is suggested that the move took place at a meeting of leading underworld figures, hosted by the Anjiliac member, who used the meeting to assassinate all of her rivals in one go. Whilst some of the leading figures were driven off-world or killed, many are now understood to have sworn fealty to the Hutt Lord.
Authorities on Ord Mantell first began aware of the change after numerous gang outposts began to show different livery and sigils, which Hax Madreen of the Mantell Police Department confirms to be a 'tell-tale sign of a change in leadership'.
The gangs, which normally keep a low profile on the world, are nonetheless embedded into the culture and society of the planet and are estimated to return millions in illegal credits every year. It is not yet known how far-reaching the criminal underworld of the planet is, nor how its new leader will shake things up. Speaking to the Herald today, Vreen Vreem McVreem, our Hutt Space correspondent, said that 'This recent move by the Anjiliac is sure to force the hand of the Hutt Council, in formally recognising their families position amongst their ranks.'.
Prime Minister Greej, Ord Mantell, has warned of 'increased violence' in the coming weeks as the new gang leader attempts to cement her control over the lower-ranking members of the underworld, and has pledged to 'bring Mordeth to justice'. Experts believe this pledge will be hard to fulfil.
