DESCRIPTION
The SP2 Stardancer is a somewhat mysterious beast. Manufactured by the Jedi Order and its Rebel allies in secret factories beyond the boundaries of Imperial space, it serves as one of the primary hyperdrive-equipped starfighters for both groups, and is a match for any similarly equipped mainstream snubfighter. It does incorporate some refinements developed by the Jedi in hiding, although these mainly pertain to the vessel's slightly smaller size compared to Sith designs of similar performance.The Stardancer is 12 meters in length, 6 meters shorter than a Barancar Action Systems RX/5, a common model with comparable capabilities. The type is equipped with a miniaturized class 4 hyperdrive, as well as a pair of light laser cannons and a single concussion missile launcher with a 3-shot magazine. Top speed is about 90 MGLT, and maneuverability is decent.
The Stardancer is used by Rebel forces and the Jedi Order as an escort and reconnaissance vessel, and is among the more common types in service. Its ability to jump through hyperspace makes it well suited to the hit-and-fade tactics many Rebel cells utilize against Sith forces.
