Ask So the Light Sparks

[Laren Vano]

The day is early. Laren Vano, one half of the brothers Vano rises out of bed from a long nights slumber. He looks to his right to see his trusty best friend BD-3 charging next to him. He takes a second to appreciate one of his best decisions he made (saving BD-3 from scrappers). He pat’s BD on what would be his head and says “Good morning little buddy hope you’re ready for a Mandalorian tradition of ours today.” BD boots back up and focuses on his friends face and let’s out a confused “Bwee bop?” But Laren answers with an amused chuckle, “Well I can’t ruin the surprise for you! But I can say it’ll be exciting! Now I must get ready before my brother barges in and.. well.. you know Rakiss. Little bit of a perfectionist if you ask me.” Laren walks over to his gear and begins putting all on and before he places his helm back on his head he eats a but if leftovers from the night before. While munching he places his helmet on and walks to the door and looks back at BD to say “Well come on! You wanna see don’t ya?” BD follows swiftly as Laren walks through his ship known as ‘The Brothers Keep.’ Right before he made it into the cockpit he noticed his brother sitting in the pilot’s seat with Al’Verde by his side. It was finally the day that Al’Verde had become a true member of The Brothers. A family of those who have the same goals and share the same beliefs. Laren was excited to see how well young Al’Verde does in his initiation challenge. Rakiss seemed to take a strong liking in the young warrior, which says a lot about who he is since Rakiss has a strong sense of people’s character. Laren walks into the cockpit and greets the two very loudly “HOW IS IT GOING? I hope you are ready young Al’Verde cause after today you’ll officially be kin! I remember our challenge when we were younger. We fought til we couldn’t anymore, we were so exhausted that day. We slept for a full 14 hours or so. Luckily for you all you have to do is kill this thing quickly and it’ll be done. But remember, it’s no easy task. Rakiss nearly lost his life it weren’t for big strong Laren to come to the rescue it might have just been me teaching you all along.” Laren laughed and looked to his older brother and then back to Al’Verde and then took a sit as he was ready to hear what his brother had to say for their companion.

[Rakiss Vano]

Rakiss sat there quietly just in the moment of peace... that was until Laren barges on into the cockpit. Not only this but starts going on about how he is the better half of the brothers who is the protecter and hero. He didn’t even bother opening his his eyes just scrunched his face slightly and replied back fast with “Your imagine seems to run wild as ever. The day was memorable, yes that is true but the way I see it we both were struggling with the task we carried out. Oh and my dear Laren let’s not forget this scar on my face reminds me how that thing was so fixated on me. The way I see it it recognizes the more worthwhile enemy... hehe” He let out a slight chuckle “Plus it proves itself I got down and dirty with it, don’t listen to my little brother he is adorable with his little pokes at his admires older brother. Anyway yes the task will prove challenging, you should be ready as we cannot help you with what is to come. We should be off soon the sooner started the sooner finished. He remarked as he opened his eyes and took a long look as his helmet before standing up “By the way Laren keep that droid out of my stuff he always pokes around my ship and you know I hate that.

 

[Al’Verde]

Al'Verde sat quietly and listened to the good-natured banter between the two brothers. He had never known the joy of having a sibling. It had only ever been him and his father. Perhaps that was part of the reason he had left. That, and the fact that the Mandalore was a cruel and unjust man who was most definitely not deserving of that title. Having been lost in his thoughts for more than a sufficient amount of time, he tuned back into the conversation just in time to hear Rakiss' remark to Laren about keeping his droid out of his stuff. He chipped in, "A man's ship is more than just a piece of equipment you know. It's an extension of one's self, a part of your soul." Ever since he was very young, he had felt an affinity for ships. Something about how they glided gracefully through the vacuum of space, about the raw power at your fingertips when you hit the throttle had always called to him. He had always enjoyed designing spacecraft, and it was his natural talent that had led to his service to the Mandalore in later adolescent years and early adulthood.

After hearing the statements. Laren looked at the two momentarily and then sad down in the extra seat in the cockpit. “I’ll keep BD away from your stuff you can admit I am your savior from the terentatek. Thing looked hungry for ya, but good thing little brother was there.” Laren liked the pestering, he’s practically a pro at it. Leaning back in the seat he turned to Al’Verde and said “Be ready! I have confidence in you. I see a lot of Rakiss within you. If you fight anything like him, I’m quite confident that you’ll be able to take this thing down.”

An excited Laren was relaxing and looked to his brother and asked “So how far are we? I was thinking of eating some grub before we go.” He awaited his brothers answer so he knew what the time schedule he was dealing with looked like.

 

[Rakiss Vano]

Rakiss now walked about the ship, going to retrieve a few items he needed, all the while speaking to Al’Verde, “Thanks for understanding what I mean, you’ll do well just keep your wits about you. Like me and Larens father used to say “Know the calm of war and it shall be yours. As well as Laren I appreciate that in your help that day and you keeping your droid out of my stuff. We will arrive in a couple hours I’d say so feel free to do anything needed before we land once we do it’s right down to the task...” then Rakiss fell silent and starting going through a container grabbing a data pad, and started to look through the information on it reading waiting for either a response or for something else to happen as he went back to the main area of the ship and sat down again in thought until anything else required his attention of either of the two.
