A slow night on Nar Shadda like many other nights. A planet that never sleeped and you never want to see in it's slumber. A perfect place really! Well if you ignored the crime, slave trades, the fact that 90% of every one that lives there was a fething [REDACTED]. Still when you don't have a choice you don't have a choice. Sera was noticing the receding sunset of the day and knew that she needed to find somewhere safe to crash and wait out the night.

She couldn't really leave the planet due to being in search of a astromech droid, her quad five needed that in order to go anywhere and given that a trying to go anywhere without it could lead to drawing suspicion and being tracked by the local syndicate. If that happened... well there would be blood a lot of it likely hers but not all of it.

Still there was ways to get around finding a safe place to crash when you had no way of affording so she found a discrete place to conceal her quad five and slithered her way into a relatively nice neighborhood, wandering her through the streets looking at houses feeling a slight bit of anger building up inside her wanting to just chuck a brick through of a window. Still doing that would just attract attention. something she didn't want right. Walking for a few minutes she would see a property with a proud "FOR SALE!" sign. A small smirk forming as she skidded her way around to the back. Quickly kneeling to pull her portable computer out of her backpack, searching for the nearest network and a few key presses and command prompts she found her way to access the home's local network and unlock the electronic locks.

Slowly opening the beautiful stained glass windowed door and slunking her way in to the building. She quickly looked for a small enclosed room and found that with a closet in the master bed room. Shooting the door and dropping to the ground and wrapping her arms around her. Trying to find the peace of mind to sleep. Shutting her eyes and trying to embrace the darkness in the space. Things were now quiet, just how she liked it.

And seemingly no way to screw that up for the night.

Alana wasn't proud to admit it, but yes, she had broken into a house that was for sale. This was true, but she was nice enough to lock the door, because you know...it's the right thing to do. So, needless to say she got herself set up, slid her bag under the bed and switched into her night wear; wampa t-shirt and gym shorts for the win.

Her little trip to Nar Shaddaa had been anything but productive, in fact it was down right horrible. The guild didn't want her, she lacked the track record for being allowed into the syndicate, and she didn't even have the credits to get a hotel room. Maybe Kraud was right, she wasn't cut out for this way of life, but she didn't want to go back home like this. Climbing into bed, she threw the sheets over herself and forced herself to sleep, wanting this horrid day to just come to an end. After a few minutes of tossing and turning, she finally got herself to sleep, her blaster pistol sitting on the nightstand to her left, as sleep over took her.

Well instead of a long night of rest, Alana got maybe a twenty minute nap, as the she head the closet door move shut. She leapt up in bed, her eyes straining in the darkness to make sense of what was going on, her hand reaching for the pistol only to instead send it clattering to the ground; sending a loud 'clan' through out the house in the process. 'Feth my life' Alana thought, as she attempted to reach for the pistol, only to end up falling out and onto the floor as she over reached for the weapon. "Don't you try anything! I got a blaster!" She called out, blind and frankly terrified, as she got hold of something pistol shaped and took cover behind the bed. Hopefully they weren't house robbers, that would be just her luck wouldn't it?

What. The. Kark.

Silence was filled with a manic noise coming from the bed as Sera realized that she must have overlooked sleeping beauty in her haste to find a small nook to hide in. Not caring for the ridiculous display this white haired weirdo was presenting she immediately reached inside her Jacket and whipped out her trusty DL-44 pointing it in the direction of the bed. Rays of faint moonlight fading through the shudders on the closet door.

Sera could now count the individual beats of her heart as she tensed up. Not again. Not again. Not again. Just when she finally thought she could be safe for one second something came along like it always had and karked it up. Her mind now recalling the sneering laughter of hutt search teams that went after her when she tried to run away. The ones that always seemed to be after her ready to drag her back to that slug...

NO

She wasn't that girl anymore and she was going to show it. No matter what. She felt something build up in her as she started to plan her way of exiting. Upon hearing the woman's threat she responded with flicking off the safety of her pistol as it whirred to life. Ready to shoot if it came to that, she didn't knew who this person was but most people around here were affilated with the syndicates in one or another and so she was prepared to have this encounter end with a body if need be.

"So do I, and a whole lot more of if you intend to bring me in." Her voiced came out like a growl. She could already feel her left hand growing numb and the feeling of static forming around her fingertips readying to strike if it came to that ultimatum. Still she hoped she wouldn't have to kill anybody, a dead body would draw more attention though a living liability could also be just as troublesome. There was only way to gauge her decision and choose what to risk.

"Now who do you work for?"

Yea, there was definitely someone in the room, and she sounded kinda angry too. Not that Alana had other things to worry about, as she fumbled in the dark with her pistol. This woman sounded really mad, like madder than Astra when Alana used to tie her braid to to the bed post; which was actually kinda scary. Alana kicked herself, wondering what she had done to put herself in this situation, this felt like this sort of thing was par for the course for her. "Listen, I'm just as confused as you! I swear I'll leave the house if that'll make you happy."

She wasn't about to die when she could just sleep on the street instead. Alana's heart pounded like mad against her chest, her mind trying to make sense of the situation and get an idea of what was actually happening; sadly it was failing completely and utterly to come up wit ha rational approach. Then she heard the question following after that initial statement, did this woman thing she was a bounty hunter? Well, even if Alana was, she wasn't about to have a shoot out in her pajamas. "I'm...unemployed?" She started, keeping herself in cover. "For feth's sake, put the damn blaster away and I'll do the same. I just want to go to sleep! How about we come up with a deal alright?" She muttered, wondering where the hell her trusty hat had gotten off to. "My name is Alana, alright? I got tired and broke in here. Now this is when you tell me who you are, and we don't fething kill each other." Alana groaned and hit her head against the side of the mattress, as she set the gun on the ground and slide it across the floor. "Alright, look, I slide my gun across the room, so can we please stop doing this Kessel stand off and call it a night? We good with that partner?" Alana could only hope this didn't get her killed, but then again she probably got what she deserved if her....attacker(?) deemed it necessary.

Sera's brow furrowed at the utter confusion she was getting from this person right now. This was odd, maybe this was just some random passerby who just happened to bum in the same house... convenient... too convenient. Still she was relinquishing her gun, which meant one of two things, it was meant to be a sign of good faith or she was still packing something else. Still she would at least make a appearance of playing along.

She put the safety back on and holstered her blaster back into her jacket. Now standing up and slowly opening the door revealing herself to the white haired mystery. Though really the more she saw her interact the less of a threat she was. No contract killer or bounty hunter was this incompetent. If they were then it was a really convincing act who knew.

Seems harmless... seems She thought to herself. Coldly analyzing the woman before her. Were those, Pj's? Yep she was wearing pajamas. She let out a long sigh of relief not realizing that her left hand had been shaking the entire time. She needed a smoke right about now dammit.

"We good as long as you don't give me a reason not to be." Sera still felt a need to reassert that wouldn't take kindly to any tricks, though her tenseness had now been ratcheted down by several notches. She finally dug into her outside chest pocket and took out a pack of cigarettes along with an old fashion liquid fuel lighter. Sera would then sit down on the rather comfy bed. Putting a piece of compressed tobacco against her lips she would take a long drag and then let out a puff of smoke out into the air causing a let haze to fog up the air around her. Looking down at the pack and realizing that she still had nearly a full pack and that her 'friend' might take a liking to a peace offering she closed the pack and put the pack and lighter ontop of the bed.

"Want a smoke Alana?" If Alana said accepted she would lightly push the pack of cigs and lighter across the bed towards Alana. Otherwise it would stay for easy access.

Alana breathed a sigh of relief as the stranger seemed to take her word. Rolling her eyes up to the ceiling, Alana flipped the force the bird, knowing this was total bs that she did not deserve to put up with. She was having an easier time of seeing though, as she glanced to her right to see the figure of her 'intruder' standing before her, before she quickly sat down on the bed and took out a cigarette. "Trust me lady, trouble is the last thing I'm looking for." She muttered, slowly getting up off the floor as she went to retrieve her blaster pistol; if she lost it she'd be totally screwed. "Don't mind me, just making sure I don't end up leaving this thing here."

If allowed, Alana would take her weapon and put it back on the nightstand, before looking with a bit of disgust at the cig offer. "I appreciate it, but I don't touch those things." She reached into the small pocket of her gym shorts and withdrew a single death stick cartage. "This baby is where it's at." She grinned, before pocketing it; she had to ration that stuff, it was her life blood after all. Alana looked at the bed and where the strange woman was sitting, and given that she didn't give Alana a name, she probably intended to keep it that way. Whatever. Alana sighed and sat on the opposite side of the bed, wondering what they were supposed to do now, as the faint sent of smoke began to taunt her nose. "So, guess your broke too? Tried my hand at being a freelancer, got me no where, now here I am." She muttered, grabbing her black hat off the night stand and tracing the edge of the brim with her fingers. "So, what's your story? If you don't mind. Don't think we'll be going any where so...." Alana trailed off, wondering if her new 'friend' would take this opportunity to shoot her in the back; probably not, but Alana was in a pretty vulnerable position.

Looks like things didn't have to end violently good. That meant she atleast didn't have to would be ok for the next few days, maybe. She made sure to keep a eye on Alana as she reached for her fallen blaster. Still waiting for the moment a quick draw or escape attempt would be made and thankfully nothing to that effect happened. With it out of the night stand and out of Alana's reach she wouldn't have to worry about getting shot.

Though it was the woman's rejection in favor of her personal stash of deathsticks that made her cringe and roll her eyes as an uncomfortable sensation overtook her. Sera had flashes to her old life seeing hutt slave dancers drown themselves in deathsticks and spice in order to try and take the pain away. She tried her best to avoid them seeing what they could do to people. Cigarettes weren't that healthy but atleast they didn't drain your life away like spice or deathsticks. She took another hit of cig and blew it up in the air. Surprised and dreading Alana's attempt at small talk.

She could feel an uncomfortable spike cut its way up from the nape of her neck to the top of her head. She already dreaded this talk as the silence now felt oppressive. Soon finding herself in the awkward catch 22 of wanting to say something to break the silence and feeling too pressured to actually speak. She took a deep inhale of the second hand smoke and with that simple inhalation Sera felt like she could now concentrate.

"My ship needs an astromech and I need to get as far from Hutt space as fast as possble." That was the most of the truth she was willing to tell. Sera scanned the window looking for any movement from the outside or something that wasn't supposed to be there. Maybe she was ok for now. Still she was just tired at this point. It felt like days sense she last slept and her body as trying to lull her into the world of dreams, even if that meant entering the realm of nightmares. Still though as she took another drag and there hadn't been any signs of anything off. She looked back at Alana.

"A man thinks he owns me now, it feels like I can't go anywhere without having to worry about him finding me again." She added, while it wasn't exactly true as it was hard to tell what karking gender a Hutt was, the feeling behind her words were definitely real. It really felt like that hutt bastard was stopping at nothing to make an example of her. She couldn't help but realize a sigh against her control as her body was desperate to just release all the tension that had belt up in her. There were more effective way to do that but... those ways don't end well for anyone around and she preferred to save those for people that deserved it. Alana well she was just another person right now.

Yea, this new girl seemed rather likely to straight up try and murder her. Alana had little doubt that Sera was just done with everyone's drek, and that was the main reason the woman hadn't tried blowing a hole in her head. Fun. Alana seemed to just have a knack of finding the most interesting sort of people; first that creepy cop, now this. Lucky her, right? "Syndicate after you? Sorry to hear that. They are a pain in the rear to get away from." Alana spoke, trying to make herself comfortable, despite the fact Sera was now inhabiting the warm spot of the bed.

She could feel the annoyance of her new guest, which brought a frown to her features. Why did she do such a good job of ticking people off? One of the mysteries in life she'd never discover it seemed. Alana felt a pair of eyes fall upon her, and she looked back to meet with Sera's fierce gaze. A small chill ran down her spine as she could feel the contempt emanating from this woman. "You either need to off him or make some good friends then. And even if you off him, his friends might not take to that so well." Alana stated, turning and standing her ground now, not wanting to be pushed around like she was some sort irritation for happening to break into the same house as this fashion disaster before her. There was still a person underneath this mess of a person before her, and she was going to at least try and reach out to her. "I got no issue helping you grab an astromech, but I'd just ask you take me with you when you leave. I'm honestly kinda broke truth be told, and I want to go home." Alana shook her head turning and sitting on her legs, as she faced Sera full on. "We both need to get off the world, and whatever the reasons are, they are pretty irrelevant if you ask me." Alana shrugged, holding up her hands, trying to put on an innocent smile. She was honestly doing her best, and given the first impressions of this woman, it probably wasn't going to work.

"You just look like you need someone to watch your back, and honestly I need someone that isn't going to try and kidnap me and hold me at blaster point."
Alana set her hands on her lap, tilting her head as she focused on what little detail of Sera's face that she could make out. "So, maybe we work together? I mean, if someone is after you, it'll be harder to take the two of us. Especially if they aren't expecting me." She tried another smile, knowing that it was probably futile. Sera probably wanted her to sod off, it seemed everyone did now a days. Worst case scenario, Alana would just grab her things and crash on the couch. She still didn't know this woman's name.

Sera listened to Alana and her pity talk. She didn't care for whatever people had to say in that regard in fact it felt rather silly. Why should they care about that? Unless they just want to take the wounds of others and twist it in their favor. Still she didn't really see Alana as that the type of person to do that. No she was too caught up in something occupying her mind, probably the deathsticks to think like that. Still the comment about offing the Hutt bounced around her mind.

"No matter what, it won't let go of me that easy... There will always be something after me." She said rather distantly as the words mixed with a defeated sigh. Some days it would be easier to just stop, and not move, to just lie in her personal emotional refuse and until it ended. Yet there was a part of her that egged her on. That demanded that she be free, no matter the cost.

The odd woman then had to just put on that fake smile on try to make things 'better'. She knew that look, that tone, the one that said the person was trying to convince themselves more than the person they were talking to. Still was trying to offer something that sounded rather hopeful. Though she wondered if there was going to be any truth if push came to shove. Working with someone who she just met on an odd night. A person who could potentially sell her out at any odd chance especially if it meant another hit of deathsticks... she was going to need more convincing.

"I won't sell you out if that's what you're wondering, but what can you do? You don't look like much and the last thing I need is a liability."

There was alot of bitterness coming from this woman, and it was then that Alana realized she wasn't looking to hurt herself, but rather this woman was rather scared and bitter about her position in life. Something Alana could understand to say the least, though the circumstances were far less severe. She let out a sigh, grabbing her trusty hat and setting it on her head; it was time to give some words of wisdom. "There's always a way out. If you start feeling like your trapped, you'll never be free." She started, ready to take a fist if one happened to be thrown in her direction. "My daddy thought that I would just fall in line with what he wanted, what he thought was best, and I had to fight like hell to get out of there. Well, I'm here, and frankly things didn't work out like I thought they would, but I'm making my own choices now. I'm free to do that." Alana rubbed her nose, rather sure a refute was going to come her way, so she followed up her sentence rather quickly. "I can't hold a candle to your situation, I'm not even going to try, but if you want to give up you would have done that a while ago. There's still some fight in you, so don't go snuffing out the fire just cause it's getting a bit low."

Leaning back on her hands now, Alana tited her head at the woman, feeling tad annoyed that everyone thought she was useless; seriously, what was with that? "I'll have you know I'm not a liability. I'm a damn good marksman when I'm not startled awake, I can track, I can fly, and I can bypass a lock when I feel like putting in the work. I wasn't looking for a fight, and I had the feeling you weren't either, so that's why I threw my blaster down if you happen to be wondering." Alana's facial muscles tightened, as her smile faded, she was going to be serious now. "I don't sell no one out, especially if they're in trouble. I'm from Dantooine, and we keep to ourselves, let me tell you. I'm not a fan of the syndicate, and I know you've probably heard it before, but I won't steer you wrong. And if I do, I'll let you get a clean shot on me." Alana offered her hand, raising an eyebrow at this woman who still hadn't given her name. "So, I'll start again. My name is Allana Calloway, and it'd be really swell to work with you." Alana paused, extending her hand out a little more, though she fully expected to be brushed aside. The woman kinda reminded her of Astra on a bad day, but a little more intense.

Hearing Alana's whole recruitment spiel rebounded throughout Sera as she mulled over the idea in her head. A part of her however small and minute wanted to say yes. To buy into an ideal of two down on their luck people working together against all odds giving life the finger. It was a nice thought in a way. A sweet idyllic fantasy that could warm the heart right up.

But sweet things tended to have a bitter aftertaste in Sera's experience. It was just too much, too soon with too many unknowns for her to agree to go through hell and back with someone she just met. Especially when a few red flags did pop up (although truth be told she probably casted up just as many). She couldn't intrust this woman on the run to form a posse with her... Then again she still wasn't sure she could trust anyone with that. Still she likely knew a thing or two or else she wouldn't be standing and well there's a resonance that flowed through Sera in the most minuscule dosage of empathy that could cause her to want to compromise from her usual stance. She looked up at the outstretched hand and reached out for it but instead of grasping it she just pushed it down onto the mattress.

"I, I just... can't agree to that." Still she looked up into the almost pleading eyes of Alana, She could see the fear and pain that were witnessed in them. "I'd... be willing to get off this planet with you though... Alana." She did her best to try and muster a smile but it felt impossible with the weight that seemed to be fix to her jaw in the moment. Still her expression did lighten a tad.

Alana had hoped her sincerity reached the woman before her, of course, it was just a hope; which Sera quickly deflated by her response. Alana's smile turned into a small frown, as Sera looked like a caged animal from where she sat now. What happened to this woman to make her like this? Alana was almost scared to ask. A part of her wanted to try and press it, but a part of her brain warned her that doing so would only result in Sera lashing out. Kraud had told her long ago to just take what she can get, and not to press the issue at times. This seemed like one of those times. "Alright." Alana stated, nodding as she accepted defeat. "I...I understand. I'm not going to push it. Sorry." Alana sighed, pulling her hand back, taking a moment to readjust her hat. She looked down for a moment in contemplate, before looking back to Sera. Bringing a smile to bear, she nodded at her new 'partner'. "Well, that's all I'm going to ask for then." Alana climbed off the bed, feeling like Sera would probably feel more secure in the bed than she would. "Well Sera, it's a pleasure to meet you." She commented, tipping her hat towards the woman in the usual manner. Alana cast a glance behind her at the door, then back to Sera, her mind trying to think what they were to do now. "So, speaking frankly I'm not entirely sure what to do right now." Alana tapped her chin, thinking of several options. "I can go get myself situated on the couch out there if you wanna be left alone for the time being. I mean...I get it. Cute girl with a weird accent, not exactly grade a trust material now is it?" Alana shrugged, taking another step back towards the door. "And I have the feeling that if you wanted to kill me, you'd have done it by now. So I trust you not to stab me in my sleep. I don't think the feeling is mutual though, so how bout I just let you enjoy yourself here, and I'll be getting cozy on that there sofa in the living room, and we can talk more in the morning." Alana would speak in a calm tone, as she wasn't concerned about Sera trying to pull something. The woman just wanted to be left alone, and Alana knew all to well what that was like. If Sera didn't attempt to stop her, Alana would withdraw into the living room and try to get herself situated on the sofa, wondering if one of these days she'd met someone that didn't outright hate her right off the bat. That'd be something wouldn't it?
