Terra's face scrunched up slightly as she heard the description of being shot at, but she didn't back down or pull out. She was going to do this. Better stun rounds than the real thing.

Let's do it, she said with a nod, slapping a new powerpack into her pistol. She started moving at once, sliding into cover and firing at the targets. Her heart was really pounding this time, and it wasn't because of the stims.

She heard the shots whiz by and could feel the static left in the air behind them. It was enough to almost make her hair stand out from her head.

She spun to the next and fired, sliding behind over and then firing again.

She hadn't even noticed that the shots wouldn't have actually hit her. She was so preoccupied with avoiding them that she didn't realize she didn't actually need to avoid them.

It seemed to serve her well, though, because when the real shot came at her, she was already sliding into a new cover, seeing as the blue circles went by just above her, nearly close enough to graze her. And then she fired and hit the last target.

WOOOO! she couldn't help but let out a cry of success as she finished. Oh man, that really is a rush! she said, standing up and shaking her head. Her tail was flicking back and forth repeatedly behind her without even thinking about it.

Wow, she said, laughing one of those nervous adrenaline chuckles that people did.

Mars dropped her pistol arm and grinned when Terra let out her cry of triumph. It was crazy how she'd gone from panicking under pressure to now appearing to enjoy the adrenaline rush. "It's crazy how her tail is so...emotive." She'd not met any other tieflings other than Terra, so she was unfamiliar with the expressiveness it could have.

"Enjoy the adrenaline rush?" Mars chuckled as she went to retrieve her coat. She hadn't forgotten she'd offered to wire the targets up to a switch, so she grabbed some tools out of her pocket and began to fidget with a nearby, disconnected switch. "You did good! I'm honestly impressed you were able to get a hold of your panicking so fast!" Though Mars had never found taking a life to be overwhelming, it had taken her a while to learn to keep her cool. Even to this day, she avoided big firefights if she could.

"Unless you were wanting to stay and keep practicing, do you want to go hit up a bar after I fix this for you?" Terra's energy was infectious, and it'd been years since Mars had gone and just hung out with someone like she used to with Sam and Tess. She felt kind of weird asking, but that's how you made friends, right?

Terra nodded as she asked about enjoying the adrenaline rush. I've always liked the rush, but when I fly I have the confidence in my skill. I guess I just needed to get the moves down so I felt okay with shooting, too, she said.

Sure, let's do it! she said. She slid her pistol back into its hoslster and threw the spare packs and stims into her backpack before slinging it over her shoulders.

Then it was just a matter of cleaning up and resetting the targets. There was no denying that she felt good about how today had turned out, and who knew? Maybe it would keep her alive someday...

Back to Afterlife, she said, looking over to Mars and giving a definitive nod.
