  • Thread Prefix: Fanon
  • Name: Serr
  • Coordinates: E14
  • Hyperlane: N/A
  • Climate: rainforest climate in most locations. Humid, several rainstorms throughout the standard year of this world. Weather averages at warm and humid temperatures in the spring and summer seasons, while growing cool, even cold during the fall and winter. Subject to massive lightning storms occasionally during the fall and spring seasons, and long snow storms during the night cycle of the planet's night cycle of the year.
  • Terrain: Primarily a jungle world, but also contains walled cities, fenced roads and trade routes, and several cities. The planet is not entirely primitive, but most of the surface is covered in jungles where it isn't inhabited by native sentients, and water covers the rest in pools of seas or oceans.
  • Rotation: planetary rotation is 30 hours in a full day; with about 15 hours spent in daylight (give or take), and 15 spent in night. A full focal year for Serr consists of 370 days to complete an orbit.
  • Inhabitants: Wildlife normal for this world resembles that of other jungle-type planets, with other more dangerous creatures having developed as well. Tharlasans are one of the more dominant and dangerous creatures that exist on this world; reptilian creatures with no eyes. They are slightly Force sensitive and Force resistant, making them formidable opponents for Force adepts. They are sensitive to electricity, though not necessarily weak to it, and tend to avoid areas with high voltage ratings. The roads and trade routes are equipped with high voltage electric fences as a safety measure against them. Iviroans are other such beings that are dominant to this world; primate mammals that dominate the trees. While not Force sensitive, they are Force resistant, and are weak to fire-based forms of offense and defense. Flame-throwing turrets are posted along roads and trade routes as a means of defense against them. Sentient life on Serr are native-born humans that have naturally adapted to survive its harsh environments and long nights. These humans have developed eyes with powerful enzymes that give them a heightened sense of sight in the dark. The enzymes produced naturally turn their iris' a crimson color. That's why there are no other humans with any other eye color than red that are from this world. If there are, no one except world leaders know about it. The humans are capable of Force sensitivity as well, however because of their religion, they call it "divine logic," and worship a Force god that they call "Uravin." Their Force users are called "Eldrai," and those who use the dark side are confined to small settlements near the southeastern hemisphere, and are called "the Unspeakables." These humans are also excellent hunters, and make for great scouts or snipers in an armed force. Outside of an armed force, they make for exceptional deep space pilots, and even piloting in general. They are also good with mechanics, and because of their artistic nature, make for great artists and musicians. They will naturally prefer the sword over the blaster, but are naturally proficient in marksmanship than swordplay. There are exceptions to this rule; some who prefer the blade are better at the blade, and some who are excellent marksman prefer the rifle. It is theorized that this is a perfectionist quality; because they are better at one skill than the other, they prefer the weaker talent in the hopes of raising the skill.
  • Resources: Serr is a great source of durasteel, and some merchants come for just that reason. Also, if they are killed, Tharlasan scales make for great armor plating in a number of different droid armors and personal armors. However, due to strict government law, only certain individuals are allowed to exit the two port cities to hunt for them. And only strictly and explicitly qualified miners are permitted outside the port cities into the mines for harvesting. They are not allowed to interact with the locals, and locals aren't allowed to interact with them nor are permitted to enter the port cities for any reason outside of a form of exile.
  • Government: The government on this world is a "Judiocracy" - meaning that the government is ruled by a group of "judges" from each of the major five cities, and under them consists of a council of judges and scribes that are called a "Court." Male and female leaders have the title of 'Judge' while their children are normally called 'Jurrer' if male, and 'Jurress' if female.

  • Culture: The society has a unique religious belief in a god named 'Uravin.' In their belief, Uravin created their world and the Galaxy, and has blessed their people with his power, which the refer to as 'Divine Logic.' Some have strayed from Uravin and turned his power into wicked power, which they refer to as 'Cursed Logic.' Those who can used divine logic are called 'Eldrai,' and are the only fighting force of their world. There is was a war that was just ended by the daughter and Jurress to the high judge, named Kenzie Xadokk, of Eldrion, the capital city of their world. The result was the imminent death of the leader of the Unspeakables and all of their people. Kenzie is the equivalent of a Jedi padawan in strength and power, but has a natural gift in mind manipulation via the Force. She was exiled from their world to one of the two port cities, named Portu'Iri, along with her four companions, where they would proceed to leave their homeworld.
  • Technology: Technology is advanced and almost up-to-date with the rest of the Galaxy; blasters and vibroswords. Due to the lack of Jedi or Sith presence on this world, however, they have not seen a lightsaber before.
  • Satellites: This world has one moon that helps to regulate water levels and currents.
  • History: The planet was formed nearly millions of years ago in the unknown regions of space. It was one of the furthest planets out when it was discovered, and when it was, the settlers immediately experienced turmoil at the hands of native wildlife and the native sentient species; humans with crimson-colored eyes. The humans had begun to develop their own society by this point, and had made several advances in the art of medicine and civilization. Being primarily a jungle world, it was hard for them to navigate their world, but by the time the settlers had arrived, they had mapped out and developed important trade routes and had constructed 5 massive walled cities. Among the settlers was a Jedi with his padawan. Curious, the Jedi explored the native humans and their culture, seeking to learn about their way of life and their views of the Force, which they knew as Divine Logic. Unfortunately, the Jedi's padawan had taken a liking to the daughter of one of the Kings of their world, who disapproved. Angered, but just, the king had two cities built for them that they were confined to and were not allowed to leave, nor were any native humans allowed to enter. The Jedi and his padawan were forced to leave at the threat of execution of the rest of the settlers, however. Thus Jedi and Sith were such a rare occurance, no one except for those who were in high government positions even knew what a lightsaber really was. And if they did, the object was met by most with distrust, fear, and caution. The settlers thrived in their cities for hundreds of years, and eventually arranged tight treaties to be able to mine around local areas for durasteel, expand their cities for farming territories, and send out hunters for some of the local game near the cities. The cities eventually became port cities and they sent pilots to bring in a light, regular flow of traffic. They set up small trade, and there wasn't a whole lot of travel to and from this world, but they brought in plenty of credit and resources. However, due to its location, no major factions or parties made their way to this world to advance the relationship between natives and foreigners. And any non-human space travelers were explicitly not allowed to exit the ports. This continued for hundreds of years, with a Jedi appearing every so often into the ports, but never interacting with locals. There was peace. Continuing on for a few hundred more years, the government transitioned from a monarchy to a judiocarcy, and the five major cities housed the five ruling judges of the planet. A group of anarchists rebelled, attacking nearby villages and conquering them for their own, but were overpowered by the newly formed Eldrai; a force using group of warriors that became a goverment-sanctioned military force. The anarchists were spared, but confined to their city of origin, and were kept in close check. They were then given the name "Unspeakables." The two systems coexisted on the planet with high tension, but rarely ever emerging into conflict; not to say it didn't happen, but that it was rare. This continued for nearly fifty years. By this time, a rogue Sith made his way to the planet after years of deep space exploration, and made it a goal to settle on Serr and take it over for himself. Through his strategic and political mind, and use of the Force to cloak his deception, he married his way into the High Judges' family, and the Xadokk name became the ruling name of the courts of Serr, and he settled in his new role, tricking their world into believing that he was a true native-born and true heir to the throne. He abandoned his old life and identity, and settled for the current one he adopted. Then he had a daughter and believed his secret was buried in his past. However, the High Command of the Eldrai discovered his secret after a Jedi went exploring outside the port cities, and the High Judge had him captured and hidden away from everyone, but kept alive. Disgusted with the lies, the High Command abandoned the courts and joined the Unspeakables, eventually becoming their leader and sovereign. A war between the main governing faction and the Unspeakables erupted, but the High Judge was safe in Eldrion with his daughter, whom he raised and had his captive Jedi be a tutor to along with the other brightest of the courts in secret. It was his fail-safe, just in case anything happened where his secret was exposed. The war, however, was ended by his daughter, the Jurress of Eldrion, Kenzie Xadokk, who was exiled for her actions along with her companions. The Unspeakables and their leaders were executed, and the war was over. Judge Xadokk, established global peace with a closely guarded secret that he was not originally from their world. This knowledge was gleaned upon by Kenzie via the leader of the Unspeakables, and was another part of the reason that she was exiled. The war claimed many lives.
  • Intent: The intent for this world is for the purpose of using to RP on, explore stories of characters, create new characters, and provide an experience on the fringes of unknown space where the main factions aren't totally present (not to say that they aren't at all; just very rarely). The world is free to be explored and develop backstories, and I believe would make for creative archs for players to flesh out with their characters. There could be undiscovered resources on this world as well that players could flesh out, and it's open for discoverable wildlife. I think with the culture and the setting of this world, it would be a unique addition to the swrp universe, and could make for some very interesting stories. On top of all of that, it could be a starting point for more deep space exploration (hypothetically) with its location and the two starports that are planetside.

A few issues that need to be addressed before I can approve this:
  1. Give me a specific rotation (day/night) cycle.
  2. This one is minor, but the government-type you're actually trying to refer to is a judiocracy. I'm sure that was just an innocent typo, just wanted to point it out.
  3. Also minor, but worth noting: if the people of this world have any idea of what is going on in the larger galaxy (they have HoloNet connectivity, or travel, etc.), they know what a lightsaber is and looks like. A possible suggestion I have is to change it so that Jedi and Sith are rare on their world (plausible, given their location) and that lightsabers are viewed suspiciously or even with fear on their world.
  4. Flesh out the History a little bit. An important part of the planet profile is that you give other RPers, who may end up using this profile in their own stories, a real sense of what has happened on this world in the past and the present.
Lastly, we don't usually approve worlds where the Intent is to use it solely for the hideout of a current/future Indie faction. Now, you give a few more reasons behind your Intent, but honestly those are a tad negligible. There are plenty of canon planets in this area of space (Wild Space/Unknown Regions) that can be used to chart exploration courses throughout the region. Furthermore, creating a planet as a background for a species or a piece of tech (their scale armor) is another kind we don't typically approve.

If you're going to use a planet for these purposes, I'd suggest fleshing out a planet stub over on Wookieepedia. These are planets that are canon (or at least Legends), but have very little about them fleshed out, giving you a bit of free reign in developing them. Otherwise, I'm going to need you to give me a bit more for the Intent.

If you resolve these issues, tag me here and I'll review this profile again. And, as always, if you have questions or need help, don't hesitate to ask! @Holmes

Understood. The progress will be a bit slow, but I'm making the necessary changes.

made necessary changes (minus the picture. I'll work on that when there's more time.); if there's anything else that could improve it, I'd be glad to know. (Thanks for the tip about the judiocracy, btw. I had no clue that was a thing.)

Edit: I removed the intents of the indie faction, by the way. It took a bit of time thinking about it, but those are big moves that I don't want to make with my recent return coupled with a heavy schedule. So it was best to omit it completely. I kind of want to take it slow, and one character with one world seems more than enough for me at the moment lol.

One minor fix: the rotation period is how much time it takes for a day to pass on the planet. 6 months in the day and six months at night is hardly any rotation at all. I'd suggest looking at Wookieepedia planets to get a feel for this. The rotation period can also include how long it takes for that planet to go completely around its sun—a full local year. Give me those two things and I'll approve this.

Ok I'm on it! : D

Edit: changes have been made (assuming this kind of rotation and orbit makes more sense).
