Suddenly, that creepy vibe he'd been getting by the dumpster intensified, lightning racing down his spine and into his limbs. His expression froze in place just before he hopped forward and spun one hundred and eighty degrees around, arms raising to defend himself with the Force just as the explosive went off behind the dumpster. His little defense only stopped a few bits of smoking rubbish, however, the explosive frankly doing more damage to the wall, floor, and pile of garbage than anything else. A shaped explosive? He'd misinterpreted, damnit! Whipping back around, lightsaber hilt finding its way into his left hand and stun-set pistol into his right, green leather coat unceremoniously piling on the floor of the alley. He immediately discovered that the robed man was gone, replaced by the distinctive sound of a lightsaber igniting and cutting it's way through something or other.

Yelling, "I'm fine! Catch him!", by way of answer to Ash's question, the young Jedi Knight rushed forward, left arm curled inward to keep the lightsaber from being too obvious. The Force was speeding him up, his boots skidding along the ground as he rounded the corner. In passing he noticed the fallen guard, reaching down to his belt and tapping his commlink three times, a message to Ego that there was a problem and the ship should be readied in case of emergency. Allowing the Force to invigorate himself he ran inside, noting quickly that several criminal types had already met the business end of a lightsaber. Shouting out, "Evacuate, he's planting explosives!", as well as variants of, "I'm on your side!", as he ran through. His general appearance, stormy expression, and the simple fact he wasn't brandishing an ignited lightsaber versus the other guy wearing flashy robes and wielding one openly fairly well ensured their aggressive attentions weren't directed toward the young man. Hannibal didn't intend to to use his lightsaber unless he had to in here, knowing there were probably cameras around to catch the action.

Instead he just continued to rush forward through the halls of the building, following the sound and sense of combat. He would fire a duo of stun bolts from his pistol at the masked man once he was within sight range, joining the shots of any of the thugs and attempting to move closer and force the other individual to engage him, at which point he would happily get to the saberwork. He was trying to at least keep masky mcdude in his sight, continuing to yell at the people inside to leave, both so they wouldn't get blown up and, frankly, so they wouldn't witness or interfere if a duel broke out. Besides, if explodey mcbang decided to leave, Hannibal should probably do the same considering the man's apparent intentions. He hadn't noticed many, but he did catch some explosive charges in the place. Maybe the criminal types would at least slow the guy down so Hannibal could get within a better combat range, or at least within sight.

Talak was counting on the cameras being visible within the building. He wanted everyone to see his blue lightsaber and robes. It was no guarantee that the Jedi would be framed for his actions, but it was a step in the right direction and certainly cast a great deal of doubt.

Fortunately, many of the guards had been drawn to the initial detonation, so while Talak made his way through the building he wasn't as impeded as he could have been.

He turned to catch the stun bolts with his lightsaber, and one of them even managed to hit a nearby thug. He turned and caught sight of the man - a Jedi? - who was ready to charge at him, and saw the holocameras in the room.

I am the Arcanist, and I'll continue to bring judgment on the Syndicates. I am the Jedi's realized potential, he said, but his voice wasn't normal. It was amplified by the Force so that everyone in the surrounding rooms would be able to hear it as well.

Well... now he'd publicly taken credit for the killings, and everyone in Hutt space would know this mask. He'd also laid at least part of the blame at the feet of the Jedi, though in truth, he hadn't actually said he was a Jedi. Most people wouldn't parse that out, though. He was what the Jedi could be if they didn't hold back. That much was true.

He leapt up with the Force to a catwalk above, landing and waiting for the Jedi to join him. He glanced to the windows and noted that gaining a firing position from outside would be nigh impossible, and that thugs firing from below would have almost an equally difficult time. Time to test how much the Jedi like diplomacy, philosophical debates, and aggressive negotiations. @TWD26 @Shax @Mr. Teatime

Well kriff me I guess. The boy thought to himself as he could make out portions of what was going on inside the building, something felt off, like a disturbance, but he couldn't quite make it out, unknowing to him that it was his connection to the force that was being felt. It seemed whatever the fight was that was going on, wasn't going to come outside anytime.

Reluctantly he would jog towards the door, coughing as he did so, "Bounty hunter, clear the way." He would raise his DC-17 blasters in both hands as he made his way into the building, his eyes adjusting towards the change in light. He would scan the lower floor, noting the corpses and the wounded--This kriff packs serious heat. He would clench his teeth as he aimed up towards the catwalks, but it seemed that it was a near impossible shot. Resting his fingers against the side of the pistols he would sigh, blast.

He could see the man on the catwalk above, "Care to tell me what's going on here.." He'd growl, curious as to what could possibly play out.

Ash followed a few steps behind Hannibal. He wasn't using the force to make him faster so he was quickly loosing him in the mess of panicked mooks. He took some time, being careful about the explosives now that Hannibal had started yelling about them. He wouldn't shed a tear for the people who died here, he just assumed most of them were criminals and thugs just based on appearance.

He saw the robed attacker swinging about his lightsaber as if he knew what he was doing with it, and suddenly not much else mattered. He said that he was the realized potential of the Jedi, and if that was truly the case then he would be able to beat Ash in a saber duel. Ash didn't care, this was his chance to finally put to use all those hours of training with his own saber and prove to the rest of the Jedi that its study shouldn't be neglected or changed in favor of other talents.

But more than that, this was a chance for him to fight on equal terms with someone. When the false Jedi leapt up to the catwalk, Ash joined him. To the scarred knight, there was nothing more important that fighting his first real duel with someone, not the thugs, not the explosives, and not any camera's or potential ramifications.

The jump was easy, much like everywhere else in the galaxy this building didn't have any railings so it was just a simple force enhanced leap. He held his lightsaber in his left hand and said "You are nothing but a murderer, Arcanist." He rasped, so only his chosen foe could hear him. Again, he cared little for the dead thugs and spiceheads down below, but his own feelings didn't change facts. So with that, he ignited his sunset orange saber and took up a traditional Makashi stance, before giving the man a brief salute by bringing the hilt of his saber up close to his face.

With the realization that another Jedi had joined the fray, this changed things fundamentally. The Arcanist wasn't afraid of a fight, and would gladly beat down anyone in the galaxy in a duel, but sticking around for a 1vX against at least two Jedi wasn't something on his docket. Why was it that the Arcanist attacked Syndicate, criminal assets, and it was Jedi and Sector Rangers who always wanted to defend it. That was something Talak would never understand.

The beauty was that despite being outnumbered, the Arcanist was setting the pace for the fight. They were chasing him and that ultimately put him in control. That was where he liked to be.

His right arm reached out toward the window to his right and the Force crunched the glass, pulling it inward and sending it spewing toward the position the Jedi were jumping up. Jumping up was easy. Blocking the glass was... doable. Doing both at the same time would be a strain, but that was fine. The Arcanist didn't care much whether they successfully managed to keep from being shredded. What he cared about was the fact that no matter how good they were, jumping up, not being shredded, and stopping the Arcanist from leaping through the window wasn't feasible. The single maneuver was his attack, an escape route, and his cover for his escape all at once, and having the high ground, stopping him from the single action was unlikely.

He jumped for the window while they would be protecting themselves and barely hitting the catwalk. Even if the Mandalorian below was already aiming, anticipating the Arcanist's leap and managing to actually hit him in the fraction of a second that he was visible would be a nigh impossible shot.

Unfortunately for everyone involved - and especially the spicers - the Arcanist still wasn't done. As he was nearing the ground, his thumb closed around the detonator. The bombs beeped a moment and then detonated. Explosives tore through half the building and mixed with the refining materials of the spice, amplifying the detonation. The Jedi and Mandalorian would have to be more focused on escaping than pursuing the Arcanist, and if they were unlucky, they may well be caught in the blast. The window the Arcanist had leapt through was still a distance away, and they would have no idea if leaping through would land them on another bomb or a lightsaber, so following that way really wasn't their best bet.

As for the Arcanist, he pushed on into the next building over. His goal wasn't to win a fight or achieve some blatant victory. All he wanted was to escape, and the maze of buildings, streets, and alleys of Nar Shaddaa was the perfect place to do it. After today people would know this mask, but right now... not a soul would take note.

One moment he was watching the two from above, the second it seemed things were getting out of hand, had he run into some sort of wizard convention? Regardless, the band did not seem friendly, and the two different sets had beef with each other. What the kriff are we getting involved in Rynn.. He would peer towards the men, lowering his blaster, ready to pull himself out of the situation.

That was when the Arcanist leaped from his post above, his hand pressing on a detonator. The young Mandalorian could quickly feel the building collasping, and any sort of hope for catching a bounty was gone now. The Mando would begin running for the door, sliding out as he felt the heat press against his back. Catching his breath, he would peer out for the man, yet saw nothing. It seemed this guy was going to be harder to catch than he thought.

Hannibal's face froze in place at the masked man's announcement before shifting quickly into a grin that could best be described as 'predatory'. The man seemed eager to get the word out and Hannibal would be damned if he'd let him get the last word out. "If you're directly related to the Jedi, then I'm a Hutt!" he yelled out in response, followed by several less than polite phrases in Epicant as he looked over the catwalk on the upper levels. Too many damn windows. Ash got to him and jumped upwards and Hannibal did the same, though his own leap would carry him towards an entirely different catwalk attached to an adjoining wall. Halfway through the quick motion he felt a surge of cold and chilly lightning ran down his spine. Mid-spin in the air towards the catwalk he felt the Arcanist's usage of the Force, shards of shattered glass surging through the air like razor hail.

Gritting his teeth and eyes burning with the challenge he reached out with his hand and his will, grasping at the twinkling, twisting daggers. This would be difficult, but more importantly, he wasn't willing to focus on his jump and the weaponized window at the same time. Through the Force he demanded a halt to their movement, hopefully preventing them from riddling his fellow Knight, but he paid for it with a particularly unstylish landing.

Directly after this exertion he impacted the catwalk, rolling in a truly undignified manner with a grunt, pain shooting through his ribs. He half-slid, half-rolled back to his feet, blaster raising up at a now empty window. The sense of danger mounted and he turned around to the front window, currently unbroken, and got to fixing that. Two shots from his pistol and another burst of energy got it done just before he leapt outwards, "Move your ass, Valentine!" rushing out of his mouth just before the jump, hoping his new friend had the sense to pick one of the two broken windows to leave through.

Hannibal's jump should carry him out of range of the explosion, landing on the street outside in a much more dignified way than the cat walk. Next time he'd have to make sure he intercepted the Arcanist before he set explosives, he told himself, teeth grit with frustration but still somehow maintaining that impish grin. One of these days, for sure.

Ash was honestly disappointed that he wouldn't be getting his much sought after lightsaber duel. Quite honestly he just barely noticed the glass shattering before it was too late, as he was so fixated on what he thought was a coming fight. It was fortunate then, that his new compadre was a little more aware than he was and sent his own push back at the flying shards of glass, stopping the fractured pieces from shredding him into even more bits. Ash was building up a quick burst in the force of his own to defend himself from that, but since he was no longer in danger of getting stabbed, he redirected his attention to landing on the catwalk.

With the mild buildup of force energy Ash knew he couldn't do anything substantial. But he could be very annoying. With that little force push he built up, he changed tactic and sent a quick blast at the back of the leaping Arcanist. It wouldn't send him flying, but it should send him ass over head before he collided with the outside window frame and escaped.

After all that, he began sprinting with assistance of force speed in the same exact path the Arcanist had taken, leaping after him lightsaber still engaged. He was getting tired, having not kept up on his conditioning in the force and so the repeated usage was draining him mentally. He could still fight if he caught up to the masked man, but he most likely wouldn't be using the force again.
