PERSONALITY:
Ekkehardt is a man who is not unaccustomed to agression. He often favours the more desicive strike of military action to the long, dull talks of negotiating. His speeches were a great boost to the pro-war area of the Senate, pushing them to action. His arguements are often fuelled with emotion, fake or real, and many soundbites he can recap. Anti-war protestors often charicature him as 'the butcher', but he uses this to his advantage, relishing the attention of his opponents.
HISTORY:
Senator Ekkehardt was born into a longstanding military family, like most families of Carida. The Bartholomaus family had produced some of the great republic generals of their era. As soon as he could talk, he was pressed for the army.
When he was in his mid-teens, he realised a military career would not suit him. He had seen the action in the senate, one person deciding the fate of worlds, and knew that one day he would want to represent his planet in the hallowed halls. He applied to the best diplomatic school on the planet, and, of course gained entry, surpassing his classmates, a few of whom became his aides.
He began his work as senator at the young age of twenty nine, the youngest recorded Caridian senator. Immediatley, he began to combine his military fire with the words of the diplomat. He rose and rose in reputation, his supporters in the senate growing, but so too did his enemies. He has enjoyed a relativley low amount of assassination attempts.
Many do not realise the importance of the seals and ancient test on his clothing. It is part of his religion, a zelous faith, centred on his homeworld, and the book he carries is his holy text. His zelous passion in the senae is also down to this, for he had been attending the church schools from a young age, listening to the preachers. Now he is the preacher, but he is preaching another message.
