Senator Dorian Ventrue

A man with long hair, slender of build but with lean muscle steps up to the podium. Immaculately groomed and dressed. He gives a smile to the crowd and waves to much applause, it seems his supporters are there that day, the day of his acceptance speech as the new Senator of Kuat. Floating amidst the throng of people are holorecorders transmitting every bit of this up directly to the holonet. Amongst those in the area there were of course bodyguards scattered throughout the crowd, hidden in plain sight and of course the ones not so well hidden, obvious to all. The man begins to speak and the crowd falls quiet listening...

"Elections on our planet are ones hard fought. Fraught with public disasters, scrutiny, my life and those of my opponents were and will continue to be under the microscope, as they say. I will be, I assure you, poked prodded and pulled in every direction and sometimes all at once." He gave a smile and a few people laughed. "This is of course how it should be, how it will be. I am not a man with secrets to hide. I am a defender of the people of Kuat in front of the whole galaxy. What other way could it be if I were to be able to represent each and every one of you in the way with which you deserve to be represented?"

A few more cheers went up some clapped and Dorian allowed for pause before smiling out at the crowd again, hands moving at various points to accentuate his speech. "So, it is with this foreknowledge of the burden I shall bear, that of a whole planet, that I will be having the torch passed onto me from my predecessor." A few boo's went out but the Senator quickly raised his hands to quiet them. "Now now, it would be petty of me to speak ill of my competitor, especially with such a race as we had!" He said smiling and laughing as though he were remembering good times, as opposed to the commonalities that were so horrid with political races. "He did well during his term, but all good things must come to an end so change and growth can occur. It's simply the way of the universe itself. With the utmost humbleness and gratitude I thank each of you for allowing me to get to this place." He reached a hand out pointing to the crowd. "Without you all I wouldn't be here. Thank you."

And with that he stepped away from the podium, to thunderous applause. Taking a few waves and going over to kiss his wife and child he opted for a few more pictures for the holonet before being escorted out of the building by security. he wanted to get home quickly, there was a special space lane opened up for him that night allowing him to get into the limo, slug and blaster proof, bomb resistant with seven different fail safes on it in case of sabotage. His family were loaded in and dropped off at the house, giving them the excuse of the celebration would have to wait till the weekend, duty called. After all, he was Senator now.

His chief of security chuckled sitting across from him farther down the limo, opening a bottle of champagne. "You did it sir." came his gruff voice, Senator Ventrue smiled. "That I did...stupid little sheeple ate it right up. I tell you, really..." He shook his head as he took a glass of champagne for himself and sipped it. "Give them the selfless public defender, verses the down to home simpleton routine, they'll take the selfless public servant every time..." He shook his head. "Senator Ventrue...such a nice ring to it..." The limo pulled over but the senator didn't get out. Instead two beautiful looking women stepped in, a twi'lek and human. "I believe this is where you sit up front with the driver..." he said to his security chief who responded with a "Yes Senator..." and quickly moved seats before the limo pulled out again. Privacy glass went up and then the celebrations could really begin, high above Kuat away from any prying eyes...

After negotiating various treaties with certain companies Ventrue was approached by Hahne-Kaeder a military organization of sorts, and during the...negotiations with a certain feminine feline was granted several alpha grade CARD bodyguards, though unaware of this, and the occasional private over night type visits from a seductive little kitten.

Update. Changed the planet, gave a bit of family background thanks to wookieepedia...I think I'ma like this guy.
