Appearance
[fancybox2]

Sei'Ja'Ku stands at a height of 5'11" and sports a wingspan of ten feet. Her physique is very lean and muscular, skin covered in a short and soft down of white feathers that are thin enough to reveal her smooth skin beneath. She appears fully humanoid save for the sturdy sharp talon-like nails at the end of each fingertip and her fluorescent black-feathered wings.

Her facial features are very soft and delicate, contrary to her physical build. Sei'Ja'Ku has shimmering golden irises and long eyelashes capable of luring men of most species into her deep gaze. She has plush lips, a well-defined nose, and cheek bones that would make most women envious. The Shalaz'Na's black hair is as shimmery and fluorescent as her wings and extends down to her mid-back, though is typically kept at bay in an intricate braid.

Personality
[fancybox2]

Sweet as sugar and just as deadly. In large doses. Sort of.
Sei'Ja'Ku typically has an upbeat demeanor on the surface, always showing weary strangers and well known friends alike a warm and welcoming smile. An aura of calm surrounds her, which she happily shares with whomever requires it, especially during dire situations. The air (or area) she enters has the tendency to lighten up and become much more breathable in her presence.

The Shalaz'Na tries to see the best in everyone. She yearns for friendship, for love, for all the light the galaxy has to offer. In return, she offers absolute loyalty, respect and anything else the individual requests- to an extent. No funny stuff. Well..maybe some.

Underneath it all, however, Sei'Ja'Ku is deeply torn.

Due to the nature of her work, she is forced to see things that would drive the most stalwart mad. It has made her secrety bitter, even numb at times, and above all else..enraged.

Emotions in general are seen as a distraction to those of her Order, especially ones as twisted and dark as these. Fortunately, Sei'Ja'Ku is very good at keeping her true torment hidden.

Skills
[fancybox2]

Healing Light
The Light Side of the Force has blessed Sei'Ja'Ku with a very rare and precious gift: the ability to heal. Through steadying her mind and spirit alike, she can call upon the essence to seal wounds of her own flesh or those of others. With enough effort, the Shalaz'Na has been capable of reattaching severed limbs to their respective bodies and repairing not just their physical connection but neurological as well, allowing for its use. In rare cases she has even 'grown' body parts that have been entirely lost. This last ability takes a great deal out of her, though, and often results in a loss of
consciousness.

Force Shield
Due to her focus being on the healing arts, Sei'Ja'Ku lacks essential combat skills. Her species naturally have hallow bones to allow for flight, making them very brittle and easily snapped, so she never learned how to fight offensively. Rather, she acts on a defense with Force-guided blocks and deflections. She's capable of generating strong barriers of the Force around herself or others, though maintaining them requires complete concentration.

Telekenisis
Like most capable of wielding the Force, Sei'Ja'Ku can manipulate objects from a distance and guide them to her will's desire.

Telepathy
Due to her role in the galaxy, there are many times when her patients are not capable of describing their discomfort. To compensate for this, she developed her mind's eye to delve into the subconscious and conscious minds of her targets to explore their thoughts and/or desires. While some have used this ability to manipulate others, and she is capable of doing the same, her moral conscious forbids it. Only under the most extreme of conditions would she even think of forcing someone else to do as she demands.

Empathy
More of an additional sense than an actual technique, with focus, Sei'Ja'Ku is capable of reading the emotions of others. This allows her to perceive their thoughts and better adapt to any situation. While this could be useful in combat (such as being alerted to the ill-intentions of another), it can also be a double-edged-sword. Reading too strong of emotions can influence her own, or even bring about pain.

Far-Sight and Flight
Another feature of her species comes into play for a more reserved purpose. Sei'Ja'Ku's vision is far superior to most species, allowing her to see long distances in detail. This allows her to act as an expert scout or lookout. Her unusual ability to fly (in comparison to most sentient species) grants a further advantage in this purpose and she often finds herself off on search-and-recover missions as well.

Biography

[fancybox2]

Sei'Ja'Ku was always the curious child, one whom kept to herself and chose to observe others from a distance. She enjoyed seeing the youths run around on the forest's floor or chase one another among the tree branches, whether it was through leaps and bounds or along their sturdy limbs. Joining them, however, didn't interest her much. And with good reason.

For as long as she could remember, the other Shaliz'Na avoided her like the plague, save for her parents. They always gave her such odd and frightful stares. When she inquired about the reasoning behind the passive abuse, her parents were too reluctant to ever say; rather they changed the subject quickly or shrugged it off all together. It was highly frustrating to never get an answer, but even more saddening to believe that there actually was a reason so bad that they couldn't reveal it.

It was a few years before Sei'Ja'Ku started to put things together for herself. She and her parents lived on the very edge of their village, so not many others ever crossed her path (even wandering children), but those that did looked similar to one another...yet different from her. For one, their hair had a jet-black hue while hers was silver. Their wings were white, her black. She was their complete opposite.

When Sei'Ja'Ku brought this up she immediately regretted it. The pain in her parents' features was agonizing. Worse was how they felt. She began to choke under an unseen pressure, as if a sudden weight flattened her lungs. Her chest burned with not the need for oxygen but with the pain of emotions that ran through their own bodies and minds. The sensation was so overwhelming that the youth lost consciousness.

It wasn't until the following day that she woke up.

She found herself in a strange hut. It wasn't made from the trees like her home had been. In fact, it was strangely cold and smooth, unlike anything she had ever encountered before. If that wasn't alarming enough, Sei'Ja'Ku found herself to be completely alone; the only thing around to keep her company was a plain-looking mat of a foreign material, upon which she sat. And a single burning white light.

An odd, wingless man entered through a disappearing portal not long after her recovery. His skin was hairy in weird places- like along his cheek, under his nose, and on his chin. For some reason he also lacked claws, but rather had dull, flat nails. Upon noticing her staring in confusion, the man spoke in a tongue she wasn't all-too familiar with, but had learned a little about from her parents. It was called Basic.

He called himself Shido. That was all she pretty much understood from him back then. Fortunately, the wingless man was quick to recognize the situation and got to work with resolving the barrier between them.

Remarkably, Sei'Ja'Ku never felt afraid around the stranger. For some reason, she actually felt at peace in his presence. While most of her age would have been pining for the familiarity of their homes and loved ones, she was an exception. Her peers despised her and she learned that her parents did as well, though they had tried desperately to change their own feelings. That day had shown her that much. Thus, the girl was more open to see what things might come her way.

Shido wound up being a very close friend. He taught her Basic as well as other alien tongues, explaining that there was a large galaxy filled with countless other planets and sentient beings. She was taught about technology, which her studious mind devoured, and about an amazing thing called the Force. Sei'Ja'Ku was introduced to other flightless people (who called themselves 'humans'), showed around the ship they all were apparently traveling in (which was incredible), and for once she found herself more than happy and comfortable with all the interactions.

Sei'Ja'Ku found herself at Shido's side more than anyone else's. Once all of her basic studies had been completed, he started telling her more stories about what the Force is and what it can do. He even mentioned how certain special individuals were capable of melding with it, using the essence to manipulate objects or to further influence their own capabilities. Shido explained that she was one such lucky person, and that she had even drawn upon the Force without realizing it the day she drew out and felt the hidden and true emotions of her folks.

He explained that the Force had guided him to her home planet, Shar'Ack. In a vision he foresaw a child bathed in white light, but one whose center was dark, and the darkness was threatening to expand and consume them. Each passing day he experienced the same vision, that darkness grew bit-by-bit and the Force's beckoning became stronger. Eventually, it blessed him with the image of her world, one that was known little about and visited even less. Shido stated that he had felt the Force's presence concentrated on one precise spot on the planet- that of her home.

Painfully, he had waited until night before daring to infiltrate the tree-top village to discover the gem locked within. What became even more heart-wrenching was seeing two winged humanoids carrying a small unconscious child from their home and seeing them nonchalantly dropping it to its death. Shido, of course, would not let such a disgusting act stand and had called upon the Force to assist him. It granted him the will and strength to catch the child mid-fall and bring her to safety within his shaking arms.

Sei'Ja'Ku's parents had never bothered to look back after dropping her. They had no idea that their offspring had been saved.

The story left her feeling more disappointed than anything else. She wasn't sad. There was no pain, no remorse, no anger. Instead, she felt calm and at peace. Heck, she even felt relieved and overjoyed. Not only was she free from being the burden her birthers bore, but she had discovered someone who actually cared about her, and through him made many more friends (both young and older) that would always be with her.

Eventually the ship at a planet upon which they decided to land. Shido had explained the purpose of their travels and the history of a great war, of which they were all still a part of. As much as it dismayed her to hear of such a conflict, not to mention that the others were acutally pursuing it, the bond Sei'Ja'Ku had formed over the months of space travel with everyone locked her into their cause.

It was only a few days after they made a settlement that the war found them.

Countless humanoids ambushed their campsite in the dead of night, believing them to be most vulnerable. Thankfully, sentinels had been placed and were able to call upon the others into battle.

Sei'Ja'Ku rushed off after the group but was stopped by Shido, who warned her of the danger they faced. Despite his attempt to keep her safe, there was no stopping the bad people from going after her instead. She found herself evading with ease- whether it was her small size, luck, or the Force, she couldn't tell. It was almost as though she could sense the intention of others and react before they could act.

She was confronted by a large, muscular man with a long stick of red fire, which almost matched the sticks that many of her friends were thrashing around with. He started to slash and stab at her, which she dodged and ducked around, angering him greatly. Out of no where Sei'Ja'Ku found herself flying backwards through the air until her back came into contact with a generator, which she rebounded off from and landed face-down upon the grass. When she eased herself up, she became overwhelmed with pain- one of her wings had broken.

Out of instinct she clutched at the appendage, completely forgetting about the danger she was in. The pain consumed her every thought- it was the only thing she could focus on. As tears streamed down her cheeks, Sei'Ja'Ku mentally begged, pleaded and wished for the agony to come to an end. As if hearing her silent request, her attacker appeared looming over her, his stick blazing with menace. A sudden warmth encompassed her. The pain disappeared. As for the man, he stepped back with a look of pure bewilderment. It only took that brief moment of shock to turn the tides. A bright green stick's buzzing head shot out from his chest, ending his life.

Shido had saved her again.

It only took until dawn for the battle to finish and be won. As they daylight broke upon the horizon, Shido and Sei'Ja'Ku sat side-by-side to watch the star awaken the blood-soaked planet. Many of her friends were returning to the campsite wounded, others tended to repairs of their portable homes and supplies. Graves were also being dug for the dead- despite them having been their enemy, there was still an obvious respect for the departed.

Sei'Ja'Ku inquired about the light-sticks, which Shido explained were lightsabers, and asked about how he knew she was in danger. He calmly stated that he perceived the threat through the Force, and that their bond made her easy to spot in all the chaos. When he flipped the situation and asked her about the healed wing, which he had seen shatter first-hand, she couldn't give him an answer. All the girl knew was she felt a soothing warmth that sank deep into her wing's bone and flushed outwards from it, and then it was whole again.

Having a hunch, Shido asked her to try something that sounded impossible. He lead her to a series of quickly established tents that acted as an emergency medical facility. There, Sei'Ja'Ku was presented to a fallen warrior whom was having her bloodied arms bandaged. Despite the lack of confidence she felt in the task at hand, she nonetheless did as Shido asked. After placing her hands on the wounds gently, the youth concentrated and repeated a mantra of pleas for the injuries to seal. That same warmth she felt in her wing returned, but in her hands, which illuminated white. Though shocked, she continued to push forward and actually witnessed the light flow from her nails' tips, pass through the bandages, and sink into the woman's flesh.

Right before their eyes, the cuts sealed. So precise was the healing that had it not been for the blood stains, it would have been impossible to tell there had been a wound before. Astonished, Sei'Ja'Ku attempted to repeat the act and succeeded time and time again, easing the pain of her good friends and ultimately saving some lives. She was so giddy with delight that she failed to notice her own fatigue and wound up passing out for the second time in her short life. At least this time.. it was with joy.

Over the following years, Sei'Ja'Ku was informed of the Jedi Order and the Exiles, and how he and the others were a part of the former, those that attacked them the latter. He decided that it was time to nurture her connection with the Force that favored her, as well as to see what other potential she held. Thus, she was trained by several members of the dying order while they traveled the stars, stopping only to vanquish their foes upon planets they sought refuge on. She became quite skilled with her healing abilities and a valuable asset because of them. Eventually, Sei'Ja'Ku was initiated as a full-fledged Jedi Crusader (which they strangely called themselves).

By the time she reached adulthood, she had developed her healing techniques to an even greater level, and learned how to manipulate the force into different forms. She became adept at using it for telekinetic feats as well as how to condense the essence into a barrier to protect herself and others. Because her ability was so rare and highly sought-after, Shido knew that she would be put to better use elsewhere. Spotting their enemy was becoming less frequent, yet there were still countless others still suffering and in need of help.

With a heavy heart, Sei-Ja-Ku agreed to seek out those in need, but promised to always be available of her adopted family ever needed her. She was gifted with a private ship which had many star systems registered to the navigation system as well as a good amount of contacts listed in the databanks for her to start with.

And so she found herself on a quest to end suffering in the galaxy..
