DESCRIPTION
The Secutor-class star destroyer is a powerful warship once manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards. Though the design was first introduced to service under the Galactic Empire, the Secutor can be said to be the last great warship of the Old Republic. The type is based on Clone Wars-era design philosophies, having a relatively weak armament relative to its size, but being able to carry vast numbers of starfighters and other support vessels with it into battle. Designed to take on the most fearsome warships of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the first examples were completed too late to see service in the Clone Wars proper, but did see action against Separatist holdouts in the early years of the New Order.

The Secutor is a massive vessel, a full 0.6 kilometers longer than even the later Imperial I-class ships. It mounts dozens of turbolasers and ion cannons, although its armament pales in comparison to the later Imperial I that ultimately replaced it. The Secutor's standout feature, however, are its hangars; the ship has two of them, both cavernous, with a total capacity of 144 starfighters or light starbombers, fully twice the capacity of the Imperial I, plus up to 24 shuttles or similarly sized support craft. The ship has a minimum crew complement of 20,000, with a recommended complement of double that. In addition, the Secutor can carry up to 14,000 passengers and 40,000 tons of cargo. The ship carries consumables for a voyage lasting up to 2 years.

Notably, Secutors have a twin-pod bridge design, similar to that found on many Old Republic-era star destroyers. This is due to the ship's large starfighter complement; one side contains the ship's actual bridge and command infrastructure, while the other side is dedicated to starfighter and starbomber operations, providing aerospace command and control capabilities.

Secutor-class star destroyers, though once the backbone of the early Imperial Starfleet, were swiftly replaced by the newer Imperial I and II classes in service, and most had been either mothballed or scrapped by the time of the Battle of Endor. After Endor, many were reactivated as the Empire began to suffer high rates of attrition against the fledgling New Republic, however most were still sitting in Imperial bone-yards by the time of the Empire's final defeat at Jakku. As a result, though they were once heavily outnumbered by their later replacements in service, almost as many Secutors have survived into the present day as any other Imperial-era star destroyer.

That is, of course, not to imply that Secutors, or any other star destroyer, are at all common. Over a century of attrition has severely depleted their numbers, and Secutors are extremely resource-intensive vessels to operate. Regular maintenance costs alone would bankrupt a mid-tier planet, let alone the cost of actual repairs resulting from battle damage. Like nearly all star destroyers in the present day, the only entities which can afford to operate Secutors are wealthy sector governments, and even then, only one or two at most. They are typically used as flagships, and if they are committed to battle, it is only in situations where their side holds an overwhelming advantage.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Secutor-class star destroyers are classified as capital ships under Galactic law, and possess heavy weapons. As such, civilian owners will require extra licensing to operate one legally, and will receive increased scrutiny by authorities. Even then, they are ridiculously expensive to operate; only a relatively large faction or particularly wealthy government would be able to afford it without swiftly bankrupting themselves. An individual would stand no chance.

INTENT
To create a standard star destroyer.

RESTRICTIONS
Secutor-class star destroyers are large capital ships with heavy weapons, and capital ships cannot be owned or operated by individual characters. A faction would be required to obtain and crew a ship of this size.
