Moving into the control room, Lorcan was glad to see that the grenade had been so damned effective. He was going to have to start using grenades at this rate wasn't he? It felt like he was. Instead he drew his blaster pistol as his main weapon instead. Although he had lost his blaster rifle, he still had a blaster pistol and bladed weapons.

But charging people with a blade was a Jedi thing and a suicide thing for pretty much anyone else.

Looking around the control center, he noted some of the readouts were still closed off due to their meddling in the engineering but he could see that the ship was still fine in the hanger. Surprisingly the pirates had been aware of it but they had left it there likely as an avenue for escape.

It made sense since if they decided to kill them without mercy then, with the other prisoner freed, there would be nothing stopping the Rangers from just blowing up the station from the outside and being done with it. Tapping into the controls of the control center wasn't very hard because the pirates had been either caught off guard or too confident in their turret to bother closing down their workstations on the datapads.

Weird really.

Closing the doors in the hallway that led to the control center's hallway, he watched on one of the newly reactivated holocams as a set of doors closed, separating half the pirates from each other. Trapping two pirates in the same area as the rangers... he almost felt bad for them.

"Down to two!"
he called out, "Closed a set of emergency doors on the other two."

"We're on it. Echo, let's go!" Corran responded to Lorcan's report. Compared to the rest of the station, the Command center felt downright safe. From there, the pirates had to come to them and the Rangers had all the controls of the station at their finger-tips. As long as the bandits themselves didn't start pulling wiring from the wall panels, that is. Eliminating the two that had managed to squeak past the sealing blast doors would finally seal the deal on this station and maybe put this whole operation to rest.

The squad jogged down the hallway, passing the female Ranger along the way. She looked in bad shape, but still capable. Sadly, another one of their comrades joined her in a wounded state. The squad rounded the corner too fast and found themselves face-to-face with the Pirate duo. Echo squad had pinned their hopes that the sealed emergency doors would have jarred the pirates, but instead it drove them to action. A flurry of blaster bolts filled the corridor and ricocheted off the walls. A stray blast struck one of the Rangers of Echo in the torso; his armor absorbing some of the damage. "Fall back!" Corran shouted as he march backwards, showering the connecting hallway with suppression fire. A second Ranger began dragging his wounded comrade down the hallway, arms under armpit. The man hadn't been shot in the lungs, at least, for his cries seemed strong.

Corran glanced to his left as he backed up past the woman from earlier, "Ma'am, I'll cover you. Get to the command room."

The novice Ranger wasn't sure if that was right choice. He wasn't sure of anything. He just didn't want to lose anyone else on the station and the choke-point of the Command room felt safer than the hallway.

Thalia heard the creaking of metal as the blast doors and yelling as they shut close, dividing the remaining pirates. The Ranger pushed her back against the wall as she used her good arm to push herself upward while watching team Echo pass her by and to the remaining pirates. She glanced back to see where Lorcan was located and slung her rifle over her shoulder and pulled out her pistol, hearing the yells and blaster fire. Echo came retreating back and she had to hold back her heavy eye roll, the pain in her arm adding to her agitation, but it felt empowering.

She heard someone yell to fall back and the leader of team Echo offered her cover as they were going to the command room. The Force flowed through her limbs as she raised her pistol while the two pirates came out from behind the corner.

Several shots erupted from her blaster, the Force carried her aim as she exhaled. They landed with accuracy, burning through the unarmored flesh of their opponents. Both pirates dropped and Thalia felt a cold satisfaction in eliminating them, she could push onward, but the sting in her arm sent a nauseating wave and she fell back against the wall, forgetting her Ranger commardes that were moving back to the command room.

Thalia shook her head, pulling herself out of it as she headed back, "How many more?" she called out.

Seemed that the two on this side of the door had been difficult to deal with right up until Thalia seemed to lose her temper and fire with uncanny accuracy. Lorcan wasn't going to complain but he was beginning to think that was bad for the Force-types of the Galaxy... he remembered that from a briefing somewhere but he honestly only half-remembered it so what did he know?

Thalia knew her limits he was sure.

Drawing his blaster pistol, he tapped on the console.

"Two remaining behind the doors."
he called out before beginning the process of unlocking the doors, "Give me a minute."

Walking up to the doors, he waited for a few seconds before the console chimed and the door unlocked. Immediately it opened and Lorcan was stood in front of two very surprised pirates, both of which were huddled around the door mechanism with the wires dangling out. They turned to look at him and Lorcan fired twice, executing them by blasting their heads apart with a single shot each.

"This section of the station is secure."
he advised, touching his com link to speak to the shuttle, "Relay the information to command and get out of the way to let them land more troops in the hanger bay to fully secure the station. Alright... we're going to need some medics to the command center, out."

Stepping back into the command center, he sat down heavily in the command seat.

"... kark this mission."
he muttered darkly, "We lost too many bloody men for this pile of scrap."
