Calam lay coiled in an empty training room. All lights off. At least all light visible to humans. A lamp sat in the center of the room, emitting a full range of light in the ultraviolet spectrum. The Si'Yute youth gripped a crimson training saber on full intensity in his cold hand, knuckles turning white from his iron grip. A white wrap covered his face except for his right eye, it's dual pupils outlined by a piercing yellow. His left socket was covered, for the special organ designed to sense electronic impulses that resided there did not require being uncovered to work.

Glaring across the room at the training droid that faced him, Calam planned his attack. First would be a blinding advance, his muscular lower body would propel him at his target at an alarming speed. As he would be low to the ground, his second move would be a horizontal swipe at the droid's legs. He would then attack with a perfectly vertical uppercut, bringing his entire body into it as he erected. His natural position at the end of this move would easily set him up for a downward strike, but the droid would expect that, so he would dive off to his right, attacking the droid's midsection in the process. The droid would not anticipate that action, and Calam would defeat it.

Though it didn't show, the Si'yute smiled, this would be the last time he trained with a droid. His next opponent would be his new master. He did not know who, or what, would teach him. But he was ecstatic to finally have someone to challenge him.

Calam's eye flashed as he sprang into action, his toned body working with a deadly fluidity. Any onlooker would be awed by the lethal grace with which Calam moved. That is, if they could see through the blackness of the room.

The first attack was blocked, as expected. The second attack was dodged, also as expected. The droid lifted its lightsaber to block the downward attack it perceived to be Calam's third strike, only to have its abdomen struck with such power that it was thrown to the ground several feet back as Calam finished his barrage.

He had done it. This was a turning point in the young acolyte's life. He had taken his first step toward true power.

Without bothering to put away his saber, he deactivated it and tossed it next to the downed droid.

"Put that away and shut down." He hissed, disgusted with the trash he had just surpassed.

Calam slithered over to his lamp, turned it off, and coiled up. He would use the rest of the wait meditating in the black. Thinking on the power he would soon command. The path his new master would set him on.

Yet, it felt strange to be ending his solitude so soon. He had always been isolated from the other acolytes. Not that he minded, they were weak fools anyway. Calam had always been able to manipulate them into his bidding. The strange thing was that he had never trained with another sentient. Always he had learned on his own, perhaps with minor guidance from tomes or holocrons. Rarely from higher ranked Dark Jedi. Yet he had never had individualized training from a master.

The Si'yute's mind filled with questions. Who would his master be? Some weak fool who had gained his rank through chaotic luck? or a true Master who would show him the way to the unlimited power of chaos. If the former, Calam made a solemn vow to strike the fool down before he could corrupt his training. Only the best would be allowed to train the embodied Avatar of Chaos. For that was what Calam was convinced he was.

Aiden stood in the center of a large training room. He was standing across from one of the many Crusaders in the Temple and this one was a little over-confident. He had personally sought out Aiden upon hearing of his promotion a few days prior, feeling Aiden had not been there long enough to deserve it. Now they would fight to determine it. One does not question the Bogan and this man would find out why shortly..

Two curved-hilt lightsabers shot from inside Aiden's robes and ignited as they did. He put his right foot in front and performed his signature Makashi salute. Aiden was home here in lightsaber combat. It was his domain and few could defeat him in a one-on-one duel. The Cathar crusader standing across from him was significantly larger then Aiden. He gave off a deep growl before igniting his saber and launching forward towards Aiden with a very heavy overhand strike.

Aiden stepped back out of the way in the blink of an eye, his movements heavily sped up by the Force. Time to try a new trick of his. He briefly engaged Force Cloak to go invisible, moved using Force speed and then de-engaged the cloak. To onlookers and his opponent it would appear that Aiden teleported behind his attacker. He grinned and launched a wave of Force Lightning over his opponent. Aiden's lightning manifested itself in an unique purple color as it washed over his opponent, the smell of burnt fur leaving a horrid stench. He didn't kill his opponent then and there though. He walked around to the beasts front and looked down on it with malice.

"Pathetic fool."
Aiden said before swiftly decapitating the fool. He walked away, noting the small circle of acolytes and crusaders who had come to watch the fight. Now he had to go find his new acolyte Calam. He knew very little about his new acolyte outside of that he was of a rare species and that he had a lot of potential. Reaching out through the Force, he projected a call across the training area of the temple. Calam. This is your new master Aiden. Meet me in the main training room.

His meditation was going very well. Calam was beginning to feel the dark presence of the other acolytes and crusaders, he found it invigorating. However, no matter how dark a crusader was, if he was a well, a master was an ocean. He reveled in the darkness that they had executed their will over. The cruelty and hate was its own distinct beauty.

Though he had been working on meditation for several years, Calam had never had any direction on the matter. As such, the most he had ever been able to do was sense his peers and superiors, feel the force, and execute his own will on small objects. Today, however, was a blessed day. As Calam lay coiled in the blackness, he began focusing on his lamp. He commanded it to raise off the ground, ordering it to obey his will. He felt it beginning to obey when he was interrupted by a large electronic signature from the other room. It seemed there was a crowd gathering.

Redirecting his attention, he sensed both the electronic signature, and dark aura, of the two men who seemed to be the focus of all the attention. One was incomparably stronger than the other, his darkness intoxicating. The other was obviously a fool, for he had no chance of gaining from this encounter. Calam noticed that the weaker of the two charged, a stupid move. But rather than kill him right out, Calam noticed that the stronger of the two's force aura disappeared. This didn't fool calam, however. He could see the being's movements through the electronic impulses through its body. He moved the the back of the weakling and unleashed a torrent of force lightning upon him. The fool, Calam would not have let him live even this long.

The fight now bored the Si'yute, he redirected his attention back to his lamp, again ordering it to lift. Before he could truly focus, however, he heard a thought through the force, it hit him like a blast wave:
Calam. This is your new master Aiden. Meet me in the main training room.

Finally, the time had come. Calam uncoiled his long, serpentine body and slithered over to his robe. He donned it as he left, pulling the hood up over his head so that only the bottom of his wraps and his dual-pupiled yellow eye could be seen. Slithering down the corridor, Calam's questions resurfaced, would his master be worthy to teach him?
His long tail stretched far from underneath his cloak, giving passerby's a taste of his true, crual form.

Aiden was standing by the door of the training room as his new student came in. He felt uncertainty through the Force in the being. Not of himself, but of...Aiden? Well that was strange indeed. Aiden was one of the most proven members of the Bogan, his brace of lightsabers from past kills(including his most recent) was a testament to that. Calam was very large, if not by his species' standards but compared to most here he was a giant. Black robes covered his frame down to his tail. Aiden was pleased with his new student, he gave off a healthy aura of the dark side and had a large physical frame.

"So, you're my new student..."
Aiden began, noticing for the first time that his voice had gotten significantly deeper after his training in the dark side nexus of the old temple. "Come. Follow me." Aiden said motioning towards an empty area in the back of the training room. As with all his acolytes, he would learn what Calam knew and then mold him.

As they reached the back of the room Aiden turned to face him. "My name is Aiden. I'm a Dark Master, specialized as an Assassin. You mess up and I'll punish you myself. You mess up bad and I'll kill you myself. Am I clear?" He said in an even tone.

Calam had arrived at his destination. Frozen, he stared at the door for a moment. This was astounding. The man from the fight, the man who had destroyed his opponent, the man whose force presence sent a delighted chill down Calam's spine stood on the other side. It seemed that he would not have to kill his master after all.

No sooner had these thoughts passed than he was in the room and looking at the physical body of the master he had watched destroy a foolish Dark Jedi.
The first thing the Si'yute noticed was the dark blindfold that his new master wore. He had defeated that fool blind? This was interesting. Calam had many different senses, yet this human was missing one and still defeated a larger opponent. His size was average for a human and he was not greatly muscled. Calam could see the electronic signals going through his body, it did not hold much physical strength.

Yet Calam knew that more rested beneath the surface of his new master. Great power was held here, and Calam meant to learn from it.

He obeyed and followed his master to the far side of the room and listened as his master introduced himself as Aiden, a Master Assassin. That intrigued the Si'yute. No wonder he was so strong in the dark side. Master Aiden continued on, informing Calam that he would be punished for ineptitude. Good, if Calam made a mistake, he expected to be punished for it. He only hoped his master knew that it went for him as well.

"As Crystal, Master" came his reply, his voice slightly raspy, yet deep. Calam glared at the blindfold his master wore. 'I wouldn't have it any other way.'

Aiden nodded to towards Calam. His student was a great deal larger then him but as Aiden just proved, size was no matter to one strong in the Force. Now that introductions were through they could begin training. "Good. Now, I can feel an aura of the dark side coming off you. An early sign of power and strength. What is it you are capable of as of now?" He asked. "Keep in mind, anything you say you can do I will be testing you on before we begin." Aiden said. He was being completely serious, Aiden would test him rather harshly on what he claimed to know. There were a multitude of Crusaders and Acolytes that, by virtue of his rank, Aiden could have Calam fight against in addition to the small horde of slaves in the temple at any given time.

"Yes, Master. I believe my greatest strength comes in combat. In fact, I defeated a training droid set to 44 difficulty moments before you summoned me." This was quite a feat for an acolyte, who usually were a match for a level 10-30 difficulty. "I have also learned some basics of meditation and find myself proficient in sensing the force. I have recently begun on the early stages of manipulating objects. Finally, my senses are very sharp and I heal much faster than you humans."

Aiden nodded as he spoke. A 44 was rather high and showed a good level of previous experience and skill when dealing with lightsaber combat, a good base. Meditation was an important aspect of training as well, again a decent base to build on. Basic force manipulation and strong sense all added up to make a very solid prospect. Aiden flashed a devilish grin as his acolyte finished. "I'm not human, Calam, I am a Miraluka." He said before continuing "Do you know the Code by heart?" Aiden asked. It was a very important part of training to know and be able to explain the code as the person saw it.

Calam had no idea what a Miraluka was, but he would definitely look into it. He did not want any surprises due to his ignorance.

Ah, the code. The code was the embodiment of the Bogan's beliefs. Asking a Dark Jedi if they knew it was like asking if they knew their own name.

"No Peace, only Suffering.
No Knowledge, only Instinct.
No Serenity, only Passion.
No Harmony, only Chaos"

Calam's voice on that last word changed towards a more frenzied tone, that particular line in the code was his favourite. He finished after a pause, enjoying the hang of the word in the air.
"No Life, only Death."

Continuing, Calam explained his personal view of the code. It was like explaining the taste of salt to one that had never tried it. One could not truly explain it, but one had to experience it themselves to understand.

"No Peace, Only Suffering. This is the first truth. Peace is lack of conflict. This concept is a lie. There is never and absence of conflict. Conflict brings suffering to those involved in it. To live is to suffer. However this suffering serves as motivation to succeed. To accept this is the first step down the road to a true understanding of the universe."

"No Knowledge, only Instinct. This is not to say that knowledge is unimportant, but becomes a hindrance if one is more interested in thought than action, as the Jedi are."

"No Serenity, only Passion. Again, peace is a lie. This truth states that emotion is a natural part of life. We as sentient animals are not above emotion. In fact, emotion and passion should motivate and guide us."

"No Harmony, Only Chaos. Order is an illusion. Chaos is the true nature of the force and the true power of the universe. A series of random events bring forth a conclusion. That is Chaos. The force has no law, no order, no will."

"No Life, only Death. Every lifeform dies. Life is a product of chaos and its outcome is always death. So, if death is inevitable, why not use what time we have to execute our power over others who are doomed to die?"

Aiden a slight bit of confusion through the Force at he mention of what he was. It was possible he had not heard of them before, as Aiden had no clue what Calam was. He'd learn as time went on though...

Calam recited the Code without incident, hitting all the lines correctly. This was a good sign and he would not have to be sent off to memorize it. He began to explain what the code meant to him. Again, he failed to disappoint and gave a solid explanation of each individual line.

"Very good Calam. Never forget the Code. Remember that giving oneself to the dark side allows for power. However, more importantly it allows for chaos" Aiden said with a slight grin. "Now we may begin lightsaber training. Do you have your own training saber?" He asked.

"No master, I do not. I usually use one of the ones in the training rooms." Replied Calam. He was excited to be moving on to combat, it was by far his strongest area. He also looked forward to testing himself against his new master.

Aiden nodded and pulled some training sabers off a rack on the wall. Two for himself that landed in his hands and one for his acolyte that floated in front of Calam. "Before we begin, what is your current knowledge of the forms? Do not attack until I say." Aiden asked, the calm before the storm.

Calam took the saber from the air in front of him. He proceeded to take off his robe, revealing his very toned upper body, as he answered. "I have a basic understanding of all seven, however I have only been able to train with Shii-Cho. That is the one I found the most information on and that is the simplest. It lended itself to my self instruction, master. However I am particularly interested in Shien, Djem So, and Juyo.

Around the room action stopped completely as his new student de-robed. Not because he was without clothing, but because of his massive and muscular build. Like before, a small crowd gathered to watch the sparring match that would come.

Aiden nodded his head to the side, a quick motion that most wouldn't notice, towards the crowd. "Look what you've done, now they're watching" Aiden said with a grin and hint of sarcasm. He had not said the statement aloud, but telepathically through the force. He spoke again, this time aloud. "Good. We shall spar first and then I'll teach you." Aiden said. As he finished his statement he popped backwards, out of striking range and ignited his sabers. He assumed his fighting stance with his right foot up and performed a quick Makashi salute. "Begin." He said and the room held it's breath.

A smile broke over the Si'yute's face, not that anyone could see it. Crowds. Acolytes and Crusaders who had nothing better to do than watch a small sparring match. But then, if he had the opportunity to learn through watching a master battle, he would as well.

Calam would not give them the pleasure.

As soon as his master gave the word, Calam launched his ignited training saber into the air as a distraction for the crowd, at the peak of its ascent, he used the force to flip the switch on the light controls next to the door. The room immediately turned black, except for the two red sabers, Calam's falling back into his hand.

No sooner was it in his grip than he was launching forward at his opponent like a cobra strike, his emotions a torrent of Fear, Anger, and Joy. His first attack was a devastating two-handed downward blow. the sheer kinetic force would knock the biped to his knees.

The crowd only saw a flash of red.

Aiden grinned as he felt his student's movements. As the lights shut off Aiden began to channel the Dark side, calling it to him like a magnet brings metal. His student leaped through the air towards him and aimed to come down on where he stood. His lacking experience showed with this move. Aiden merely stepped back again with the Force fueling him and allowing him to move at highly accelerated speeds and allowing Calam to land hard on the floor having missed his target. Aiden launched forward after hearing his students body hit the floor and began a combo. He came high with his lead saber, a horizontal slash towards Calam's head and followed with a centerline stab to the body with his left blade. These strikes would have power behind them greatly disproportional to Aiden's frame because of the Dark side running through his veins.

Calam felt his master dodge out of the way as his powerful blow descended onto the ground, scaring it. That was when he noticed the second lightsaber in his master's offhand. Calam's anger at himself grew. He had never trained against two sabers at once. This would be very difficult.

In an instant, the Si'yute's cloth-wrapped brain hatched a strategy. His master had more finesse than he did, as well as experience. However Calam hoped that that was more with lightsaber combat and not unarmed. If he could get his master in a brawl, he could overpower him.

The attacks came in, first a horizontal strike at his head, and next looked like it would be a stab at his torso, both relatively high attacks. Calam saw his opening.

He dropped, avoiding the first blow easily, and parrying the second to Calam's left. He continued to drop until he was very close to the ground, when he lunged forward with a backhanded strike at the inside his master's forward knee. The power behind the attack considerable, the knee should buckle and his master would drop to the ground, where Calam could constrict him. The burn from the saber would send a burned flesh smell into the air, perfuming the room like freshly baked cookies.

The backhanded strike caught the interior of Aiden's lead leg and nearly swept him forward. A less agile and skilled opponent would have landed flat on their face. Now was Aiden's time to counter. Calam had come forward very low and stayed there during his strike. In the blink of an eye, Aiden's left blade deactivated and was tossed away as the Force channeled into Aiden at a furious pace, fueled by his anger. Aiden aimed his palm towards his students chest and released a massive Force push that would slam him into the duracrete floor with bone-breaking power. The shockwave would blow back some of the acolytes and crusaders in the room from it's raw power. It was his first real display of power in front of his new acolyte and it was a large one indeed.

Calam realized his folly as his upper body slammed into the ground, first his chest followed by his cloth-wrapped face. He deserved this, he had been too reckless and overconfident. The training saber was no longer in his hand, he had involuntarily released in upon impact.

As he lay there, pain washing over him, he cursed himself for his stupidity. He would not make such a mistake again. The lights came back on as a Crusader realized what had happened with them, and the crowd saw the master standing over his defeated pupil.

Aiden shook his head and his eyebrows narrowed as he spoke. "You're lucky I directed that at your chest and not your head. Next time I won't be so kind." He stated in an annoyed tone. To the shock of most in the room, he was breathing at a completely normal rate because the Force fueled his assault and not normal means. "You were reckless, overconfident. Do not grovel on the floor like a worm. Stand." He said. "You started well. That first attack would have cleaved a normal opponent in half and your second would have swept one less skilled then I." Aiden said as the crowd dispersed.
