Kashyyyk.

The last time she was on this planet, she and Max rescued a slaver camp of Wookies, took down a Madclaw and convinced the Trandoshans of better quarry than their old enemies. Reports of slavings dwindled to near nothing, and with rumors of a possible wealth of untold quantity lurking in the darknesses of the lower levels in these forests, Indyana couldn't resist the call for more information about the past. Despite it not being the most galactically involved planet, it held centuries, if not millennia, of history with the galaxy, so who knew what they would find, hidden in the darkness?

With Life Day also almost around the corner, Indy was keen to participate in as many of these activities as she could with Roland and Felix; even as she landed, golden eyes kept a lookout for the Cobalt Viper to grace the skies even as she landed the Galahad, mindful to park close enough to where the rumored path to this wealth of untold riches began, and leave enough room for the Ranger Captain to land as well. Felix was on board with her; he seemed to improve as of late, and she hoped he would stay out of trouble better while under her care.

"Up for another adventure, my young Padawan?" the young Master quipped, giving him a sly sideways grin as her gaze still panned the skies, waiting. She had to admit, like any other time in search of information or artifacts, there was a buzz of anticipation and excitement in the air. She could hardly wait to begin the search.

Life day was a weird time of year for Felix, as it was also the day he celebrated, well the Jedi around him celebrated his birthday, to him was more of a reminder of how little he knew of his background, of his past. but he was glad they were doing something not related to life day hopefully it would keep his mind off it.

"Always, master." He shot back in reply, she seemed to be in good spirits, excited he might have said which was a bit of change from the stern side she had been showing him up until recently not that he wasn't undeserving of the sternness.

"but what is our adventure, all see is very large trees" he knew next to nothing about Kashyyyk other than it was the home to the wookies and it was covered in massive trees.

Kashyyyk was a big planet. There was a plethora of worlds in the galaxy that did not have the naturally occurring vertical aspect that the Worshyyr trees provided. There was so much green witnessed on the Wookiee inhabited world. Branches that could have doubled as runways, leaves that could cover wrap him up three times over, the locals weren't the only thing that grew to a large size. Roland knew that while the world was beautiful, it was infamous for being dangerous on the surface the closer to the ground one travels.

The familiar sight of a corellian light freighter came into view as the firespray made a pass. The Captain came back around and parked his vehicle beside the Galahad. Going to the weapons locker, he was followed by his seeker droid and surveillance drone. Picking up the flame projector from the locker and closing it again, the man slung the weapon over his back and headed to meet the Jedi who had already arrived.

The man was aware that Indyana was bringing her padawan. The two had met briefly on a few occasions. "Watch the ships. You know the drill." Roland wondered if the droids would end up getting eaten by some local flora or fauna. The barely perceptible warbling of the small repulsor-engines faded as the machines found good vantage points.

Life day, was a generally celebrated holiday. Of course in the past decade or so Roland never really celebrated it extensively. There was a time before he struck out on his own as a bounty hunter when he thought about Life-day. That turned into working holidays. In the past decade, the Mandalorian had only really celebrated Life-day maybe two or three times. It was easy to overlook a date when traveling between systems. But maybe he would get to spend this Life Day with some company.

She couldn't help the stupidly happy grin that touched her lips at seeing the firespray above them; shielding her eyes, she glanced at her Padawan once and nodded. "There were rumors of Force relics somewhere on Kashyyyk, as well as other artifacts; this planet is an ancient one, steeped in Darkness."

Seeing Roland descend, she couldn't help the lightness that touched her chest at seeing him, but schooled her expression when remembering Felix was there.
What are you afraid of, giving the wrong impression?

She hadn't gotten the chance to really celebrate Life Day until fairly recently, always stuck in a dig or research until practically dragged out and forced to interact. In the distance, the sounds of celebration could be heard through the massive trees, and she smiled. Perhaps after this, they could join in.

Thankfully, they had landed in the higher levels, the branch a broad space to walk across. The path ahead was marked out, but there were many things that could happen or go wrong. It led down to the lower levels, so they would have to be on their guard.
"Ranger," she greeted Roland, but there was a hint of a warm smile on her lips. "I'm game to go down if you both are."

And with that, she turned and began striding towards the marked path, the silence of the jungle pressing around them.

He should have guessed it would be some sort of treasure hunt, she certainly liked finding the old and forgotten things in this galaxy, he did have to admit they were cool elements to history, like things with long storied histories such as the darksaber or the first blade, so hopefully they would find something just as cool.

Felix had made his way to edge to peer down into the dense jungle depths below, kick a small broken branch over the edge, wondering if he would hear it land but he never did.

He followed in behind Indy, Felix taking in the jungle around him. "so what kind of things live on the lower level?" He asked the two of them, as he was certain himself and he would rather at least be ready for the things down there.

A distant echo of celebration was softened by the expansive wild foliage. It definitely helped Roland feel like there was a sense of closeness to the nearby civilization despite the three of them being deep in the wilderness. Roland looked to either side and knew there was still plenty of chances to go further down in the levels later. That where it looked like they were headed anyways.

"Master Jedi" He replied in kind to Indyana's greeting but it could also be taken to be directed towards both her and Felix. The young jedi seemed interested in the world around them. That was for the best if he stayed on his toes. "giant bugs, carnivorous plants..." A large insect flitted down the path but a larger avian creature quickly swooped in and snatched it out of the air with razor sharp talons. The crunching of the exoskeleton could practically be felt from the distance the Captain saw it at. It reminded him a little of the jai'galaar that had flown around the Black Keep.

"There's other things that are dangerous, not just living things." Roland said, hoping the obvious came to mind at least like falling from a great height or having something fall from one of the higher levels. "Getting lost could get you hurt down here, kid."

Already she could feel her face heat at the greeting, the memories on Corsin still recent to her own mind. But Roland was right; this place wasn't to be taken lightly. Amongst the lower levels, even most Wookies didn't go further unless they were mad or desperate. Still, her hand reached for the Fallen Blade, its' purified hilt a comforting weight even inactive.

"Keep to the center of the group," she told Felix, before pulling up her datapad with the other hand, frowning. The remnants of text hadn't been specific; but she had a gut feeling that the 'hunt' these clues led to were a wealth untouched... and with good reason. Who knew what waited down below, but sitting here spinning yarns about the dangers of Kashyyyk weren't going to help.

She glanced back at Roland and Felix, slipping the datapad back into its' pocket.
"If we're lucky, we can be back in time for the Wookie Life Day festival... and if you've never been in one..."

Dimples flashed with a white smile as she turned away once more, footsteps light on the thick, rough bark.

"You're in for a treat."

"I can handle myself, I survived Dathomir didn’t I?" Felix replied to the mando, shooting him a look before rolling his eyes at Indy’s order. "Yes, master" he begrudgingly voiced in reply.

Indy had been acting weird ever since they set off for this adventure, she was excited... and smiling, he didn't whether it was because of the potential for long-lost artifacts, life day, the combination of both, or something else but it was kinda weirding him out. Is this how she is when not teaching him? he thought to himself knocking his head to the side slightly"is this how she normally acts when not teaching me?" he whispered to Roland hoping he would enlighten him and that she wouldn't overhear them.

He followed behind Indy in his designated spot in the middle as they began their descent from the tree and into the lower level of the jungle, the light slowly dimming as the canopy above them grew. Reaching the base of the tree, the area seemed to be covered in some sort of webbing. "is this meant to be here?"

"Survived being the operative word there kid." He replied. "So you think you could hold your own down here?" The ranger asked. "Or out there." The Captain gestured towards the sky where the rest of the galaxy awaited. Even if the padawan was capable, others thought he wasn't responsible or capable of dealing with things on his own yet and so needed guidance.

"It's different from when we spar." He admitted with a shrug, not being loud but not whispering either. It wasn't surprising for the Captain though how the way she was acting. Roland had seen Indyana in both casual settings. It was no surprise her pupil didn't see the woman as his peer or got the same interaction.

The Mandalorian's visor occasional switched. The view of numerous heat signatures and local life difficult to separate. Focusing on the larger ones that didn't seem to be as cautious or concerned. The distant hum of can-cell wings grew quieter the further they went down towards the ground level. The padawan pointed out the webbing, likely left by webweavers or another type of local spider.

She frowned absently. She could hear some of the voices, what they were saying... perhaps she should have had Roland take point and Felix stay behind her. But if he was sandwiched by either side with adults, he would be easier to keep an eye on. Her lips kicked up a bit at the corners when he mentioned how she was different when sparring; a soft chuckle from her lips as the darkness grew deeper the further they went.

Suddenly, it was a bit too quiet.

Felix mentioned webs, and she gripped her blades, not activating them yet, but holding her breath, cocking her head to listen.

Far ahead, shapes moved and the local fauna seemed far away.

It was a time similar to this that she faced in the caves on Kashyyyk; something waited for them in the dark.

One white shape blurred past, too swift to be tracked for her eyes, and both blades snap hissed to life. Another pale shape darted past, into the leaves, into webbing.

It was then the wide, heavy branch behind them vibrated with weight, and long, spindly legs reared for the Mandalorian. A small shape with long limbs reared for the Padawan, and a third also for Indy.

"Spiders!" she bellowed, swiping a leg away as it gave a screech in pain. "Watch out!"

Felix’s lightsaber hissed to life after Indy’s as he brought to a defensive position. Spiders, why did it have to be spiders was the thought that rang through Felix’s head. why not something with less legs

Felix rolled to the side out of the way of reared legs of the spider creature, trying to move way from the creature Felix found out during his he had stepped in the webs, looking down to see what the problem was. "Kark" he whispered under his breath, he didn't have time to precisely cut the web around his foot, so it looked he would have to stand his ground.

The spider had turned to face him, ready to try again with its legs to strike him, he adjusted his grip on his lightsaber. As it began to strike Felix cut across the path the lags were travel cutting them in twain. The creature stagger back from injury, screeching in pain as it retreated.

Spiders came in all shapes and sizes but the Mandalorian was never fond of them. There was yet to be a spider that wasn't off putting for him. Some of the more dangerous and terrifying creatures in the galaxy were spiders from pictures. But those still didn't do the beasts justice as he witnessed the launched ambush of the giant arachnids.

Whipping around with his flame projector at his hip, the Mandalorian let lose a stream of controlled inferno. The spider closest to Roland was caught and was set ablaze. A splat and heavy impact against his right hand jerked the flame projector away, keeping him from dragging the projector across any other targets. The hands that held the flame projector were now fused to the weapon thanks to some spit webbing. "Dank ferrik"

Looking back up at the squirming spider, the Captain took a step back. The thrashing creature earned a second jet of the flame projector. Ahead there were webs and further down there were going to be more obstructions. It would probably be risky if he tried to fly with so many webs around.

She came prepared this time. The last time she came against giant spiders, Max had gotten grievously wounded, and she had barely been able to heal him enough to not bleed out right then and there. "Felix, keep your back to me," she ordered the young Padawan in clipped tones over her shoulder, "but doing good."

She gritted her teeth as her own opponent screeched and skittered forward, pedipalps flexing over snapping fangs. She shuddered, gripping her lightsaber, and as it lashed three legs forward she slashed them away. The being let out a horrid keening, reeling back, and she struck again, lashing at a third leg. It began to backpedal, curling against itself to either retreat or lash forward again.

They couldn't stay this open for long, but hopefully her companions could hold their own long enough for her to clear the branch and keep moving.

A small injection of pride hit Felix with Indy's approval, though he would head her words to rejoin her. Now not pressed for time he raised his foot, the webs stretching to accommodate the movement before he sliced them to free himself.

He made his way to Indy putting his back to hers, seeing the spider Roland had lit a flame, thrashing about, Felix took the opportunity to force punish it off the edge in it’s more that distracted state.

"So what's the plan to getting out of here?"
