  • What is going to happen in your plot?
Devrim Wolfe, along with other members of the Galactic Alliance, will return to Dantooine to attempt salvaging what they can from the wreckage of the Imperial attack.
  • What other players will be a part of this?
At least @Shalken, hopefully 1-2 more as well.
  • Where are all the places (if more than one) that your plot will be taking place?
    Dantooine.
  • Please provide a basic in-character timeline of what you expect to happen.
    • Thread 1: Devrim along with his squad of rebels travel to the destroyed Jedi Enclave on Dantooine. Upon arriving, they are met with immediate hostility from a band of local pirates that have made the ruins their home. (Ask, Dice rolled opposition)
    • Thread 2: Discovering a broken 1A Heavy Laser Cannon, the squad needs to search through the rest of the enclave to find tools and supplies to fix the cannon. They face several dangers, including cave-ins, more pirates, and kinrath. (Ask, Dice rolled opposition)
    • Thread 3: Disturbing the enclave caused a massive cave-in at the entrance, forcing the squad to take the crystal caves. These caves have since been infested by a huge hive of Kinrath, which the rebels need to fight and exterminate to escape. (Ask, Dice rolled opposition)
  • What do you or your character hope to achieve with this plot? What is the "end-game"?
The members salvaging the wreckage hope to find a 1A Heavy Laser Cannon (or at least blueprints on how to make them).
  • Do you need any involvement of canon NPCs or faction leaders to be DMed by a staff member? If so, please detail who/what and for what purpose.
    N/A

Hey @Vosrik !

Alright so some things I'd like to discuss!

  1. Why would there be a broken Cannon there? From the write up the weapon was made for the Empire so the Jedi at the enclave wouldn't have used it in their defence and the Empire wouldn't have used it in their attack - the enclave would have been destroyed over 400 years ago at least and the cannon is current TL advanced tech, so it doesn't make sense for it to be there imo
  2. Same issue with the demolition charges - the attack that would have required the charges would have happened over 400 years ago. I really doubt said charges would still be operational at that life span
  3. Three threads wouldn't be enough for two pieces of advanced tech of this calibre I'd say - you'd need to choose between one or the other at current thread number and difficulty

Hey! So I think I might have confused you by saying Jedi Enclave — that’s where the Galactic Alliance base was located when it was attacked around five months ago (according to Sree on Discord), not the original attack that would have destroyed the Jedi enclave 400 years ago. The writeup states that at this time some Rebels would have built/stolen these cannons, and I assume with Dantooine being their previous base of operations they’d have had one there that was destroyed in the attack.

If I had to choose one of the two, I think I’d rather pick the cannon...so I’ll remove the demo charges :D

Ah onto onto!

Yeah, I can see that there was an Alliance base on Dantooine - but I've looked over both the Alliance and cannon write up and I can't see it written down anywhere that the Alliance would have stolen them. That's moot though since I've got no issues with the rebels having some ground-to-ground artillery pieces like this through hook or crook!

But this plot is still getting rejected - HERE at least

Looked over it some more and this is very much a Faction plot to the plot and tech teams.

Also, I would suggest grabbing the blueprints rather than a just a cannon since grabbing the blueprints would mean that you would be able to distribute them between bases if the plot goes well - it wouldn't need more threads, three would still be good, but if you're going after blueprints, it's incredibly unlikely you'd find them on an old battlefield. Instead here's a rough draft of what I would suggest!

  1. Dice - The original manufacturer of the cannon doesn't make them all, they contract it out to licensed manufacturers. The rebels know that they can get their hands on a copy of the blue prints from them but they need to get in so first they break into a local branch of the company that does security for the manufacturer and shuts down the cameras.
  2. Dice - The rebels break into the barrack of the company that supplies the manned security for the manufacturer and incapacitates the guards without raising the alarm.
  3. Dice/DM - The heist itself, with the rebels breaking it to take a copy of the cannon from the local drives within the facility, only needing to watch out for droid security.
^
That one carries the risk that if the alarm is raised, the Alliance will be very much on the radar of the rest of the Galaxy for attempting to steal military grade weapons - a sneakier alternative is;

  1. Dice/DM - The rebels convince a local band of thieves and smugglers to attempt to steal the plans. This might end up needing to be a very aggressive negotiation.
  2. Dice/DM - After the heist, the rebels go to the company under the guise of hearing about the theft. Depending how well this goes, they may secure the company as a supplier of the cannons on the downlow once the mission is complete.
  3. Dice/DM - The rebels already know where the thieves are and they mop them up. If the second thread went well and the company agrees to produce then the rebels can just return the blueprints, if the second thread didn't go well then they can copy the blueprints for themselves and still hand back the stolen copy.
Just some ideas!

But yeah, REJECTED as a character plot, see about doing it as a faction plot and having Minuteman look it over :)
