DESCRIPTION​

The RX-series starfighter is a light combat spacecraft manufactured by Barancar Action Systems. One of the oldest products in the company's catalog, the RX has - in various forms - been in production since the days of the Old Republic, and has changed very little since then aside from general modernization to bring internal components up to current market standards. Long ago, the type was produced in a number of discrete models with varying specs in terms of armament and performance; this has been consolidated to a single model in the present day.

With its sleek, needle-like fuselage and straight wings, the RX does look like something out of another era, especially compared to the angular, aggressive designs of the present. Fortunately, the RX's specs and performance are not nearly so archaic; able to hit 110 MGLT, the RX is also decently maneuverable, and unlike some earlier models it incorporates a class 2 hyperdrive for interstellar jaunts. Armament consists of twin medium laser cannons buried in notches in the wing roots, plus a 5-shot concussion missile launcher. Defense is provided by a light deflector screen.

As starfighters go, the RX series is reasonably popular, although it is a rare sight outside Barancar Action Systems' primary markets in the Outer Rim.
