DESCRIPTION​

The RT-97C is a heavy blaster rifle manufactured by BlasTech Industries which dates back to the Galactic Civil War era. Widely used by the forces of the Galactic Empire, it was favored by long-range desert patrols and other wilderness units, who valued the weapon's relatively good range and excellent stopping power over its somewhat cumbersome design.

The RT-97C is a powerful weapon, capable of inflicting heavy damage, although it lacks a stun setting. Just over a meter long and weighing in at a hair over 8 kilograms, it isn't nearly as handy as the standard E-11 most stormtroopers used, but things shot by it tended to stay down, which was appreciated. Though it only had a 30 shot capacity, it did provide an extra 50 meters of range over most other such weapons, being equipped with extra focusing elements and a computerized targeting scope.

Though the Galactic Civil War is long over, the RT-97C still sees a good amount of use among the mercenaries, bounty hunters and criminals of the Galaxy.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. On most civilized planets, ownership of such powerful weapons as the RT-97C is highly regulated, requiring extensive licensing. Toting one around in public is not advised except on exceptionally lawless worlds, where being seen to carry one may intimidate beings who would otherwise give you trouble.
