Valley Dreams Orphanage

With all the troubles in the galaxy, seemed everyone had forgotten about the little children. As the toils of poverty took place, in industrialized worlds like Coruscant the problems were even more magnified. Children scoured the streets and those fortunate enough found themselves with a mediocre home in the cities' few orphan housing buildings. Luckily enough, many of these children had hidden gifts. A connection to the force, and only those twisted enough to surmise would dare think about kidnapping several for their own gains. After all, growing a child into a weapon of darkness was a rewarding experience providing a man not only a role similar to fatherhood but also one of mentor. In his dreams, Roman awoke frequently to the haunting screams of a particular child. Was it a family member? Perhaps, though in a more romantic sense, it may have just been a prelude to his own twisted childhood.

Roman's armored form made its way through the void of darkness, leaping over a rectangular platform to land on the roof of the orphanage. Moonlight glistened off the polished durasteel, rendering the Legionnaire a fear inspiring sight. Eyes slowly shifted color, in lieu of the dark seeded corruption within as they molded into a sulfuric yellow. Unsheathing a long steel blade, he lept downwards through the air vents, landing with a thud in maintenance shaft where several crawling meters finally led him towards an outlet opening into the kitchen. Rising to its full height, he scanned through the several corridors, remaining hidden in the blanket of shadows until a groundskeeper guard made his regular patrol. Unaware of the looming threat present, the force insensitive male was rendered helpless as Roman suddenly leaped from the side. Armored hand went for the throat and mouth, grabbing a tightened hold over it so his victim's screams were nothing but muffled whimpers. The vibroknife slide without resistance into the man's spine, several clockwise turns severed his cord, feeling as the legs gave out underneath him along with the eyes rolling into the back of the head with pale white silhouette.

Death had taken him, the corpse tossed towards edge of the hallway as his clearance badge was removed. The Sith continued to track in his path, making his way finally towards a large, open room. Door slid open with the security card, rows of beds filled with sleeping children present. Lights were off, and
Roman was hardly visible even within his discernible armored body. Eyes slowly cast their gaze across the room, until of course they came to rest on a single soul...

K'Thund sat quietly, in a meditative state at the end of an open room, where many young boys slept within the orphanage. He was here finalizing the adoption of one young man who had exhibited some strength in the Force, though the orphanage had done badly at keeping this a secret from the public.

K'Thund's eyes opened, as a life had been snuffed, mere moments before the door creaked open, revealing a dark armored visage of a man before him, wielding a blade of sorts. In that time, he quietly herded the children closest to the door, and calmly, the Jedi positioned himself between the children and the door, taking his Durasteel-cored staff in his right hand at the ready. He stood silently and stepped out, into the middle of the room, and adopted a broad stance, his 7-foot frame obscuring the children, including the Force Sensitive one, who slid to the floor behind his cot.

K'Thund reached out with the Force, to protect the children from telekinetic attacks should the man seek to try and draw one to him for leverage, almost as if to place an invisible hand on their shoulders to console them, and try to keep them calm.

"Your time is wasted here, Dark Sider. Leave now, and no harm will come to you," K'Thund spoke, with a firm tone, though not an outwardly hostile one. He had no qualm with the man, but was not about to allow him to pull him down the pit to the Dark Side.

Though, a part of him just knew this man wasn't going to leave without a fight.
