Reunification: Rimma Redux

In the abject chaos of the last years of the ancient conflict with the old Sith Empire, the Republic lost the vast majority of its territory beyond the security of the Core and the Inner Rim. It lost invaluable worlds in the Mid and Outer Rim full of minerals, foodstuffs and raw materials not to mention privileged positions along all-important Rimma, Hydian and Corellian hyperspace routes.

While other former Republic worlds on the Rim have largely decided to fend for themselves and look after their own, forsaking the Core-centric Republic, the worlds of the Rimma Trade Route have maintained very close relations with their southron neighbors. The powerful Republic Rimma worlds of Abregado-Rae, Thyferra and Yag'duhl, in conjunction with the ever influential and wealthy worlds of the Tapani Sector along the Fondor Spur have come before the Senate with a tantalizing offer. The Reunification of the Rimma with the Republic.

While it will be a slow process, sector by sector, star by star, the break-away worlds of the Rimma from Wroona to Kal'Shebbol are willing to entertain the notion of Reunification. Some are enthusiastic, some are cautious and some are just out to use the Republic and the newly formed GAR to do their dirty work or increase their own power but by and large, they are willing to negotiate. It's still the Rimma however and everything has its price. The Duopoly of Thyferra, the Shipwrights of Yag'duhl and the Merchant's Guild of Abregado-Rae are more than willing to front whatever... liquid resources are required for the operation but it will take skilled members of the Republic's finest in addition to less savory types to get more sensitive and potentially dangerous tasks done.

The first target is galactic crid coordinates M-15, home of the wealthy Wroonian homeworld along with the shipyards of Vandelheim which combined with the shipyards at Yag'duhl, Bestine and Fondor offer a naval production capability to rival Kuat.​



Mission One - Thyferra Calling
Briefing:
The Duopoly of Thyferra has offered to assist the GAR and hired mercenaries in its operations in the sector. While it's largely been providing contacts and monetary support they have put forth an intriguing offer to help the Republic expand its reach in the region. On the planet Vandelheim the Empress Xoron del For has ruled for 15 years since seizing power from her son, though she has been in true power for more than half a century. Ruthless and severe yet attentive to the needs of her Empire, Empress Xoron is a great woman but she stands in opposition to the reunification of Vandelheim with the rest of the Republic and Thyferra feels that her time has come. The Duopoly has offered to help engineer a palace coup (preferably a bloodless one) on Vandelheim and restore the "rightful" Emperor Gonli to the throne.

Ethical considerations aside, it will require a great deal of skill to pull off not just the Coup but concealment of direct Republic intervention. The last part will not matter to the people of Vandelheim but it might damage the Republic's reputation along the rest of the Rimma. Subtlety is the name of the game.

This thread will be ASK and requires 2-3 GAR or Other (In addition I will be participating in this mission)

Objectives:
-Infiltrate the Imperial Palace in the capital city of Vostberg and meet up with a Duopoly agent.
-Neutralize the Grand Chancellor, Deputy Commandant of the Imperial Guard and the First Rector, without their support, Empress Xoron will be outnumbered by Emperor Gonli's supporters, who have already infiltrated the palace.
-Confront the Empress and force her by whatever means necessary to give up the throne. She is preferred to be alive, but this is secondary to her removal from power.
-Conceal direct Republic involvement. The people of Vandelheim would see us as heroes for overthrowing this despot, however benevolent, but other governments on the Rimma might become wary and it might damage the Republic's reputation.

Mission Two - The Pirates Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest

Wroona is run by immensely wealthy trade and merchant guilds who profit off the planet's important position on the Rimma. Crossing them is almost as dangerous as crossing The Duopoly and unfortunately for one band of outlaws, they've crossed both. The Thyferran and Wroonian Fleets will provide a distraction while a small strike team infiltrates the criminal's base on one moons of the Wroona system's outlying gas giants. Their mission is simple: leave no one alive. These criminals have shown a penchant for writing things down so whatever information they possess that might be of value is in physical form somewhere at their base, making it unnecessary to take prisoners or hold back. Kill the organization's leadership, get whatever information they might possesses (and discover how these criminals were so oddly well-equipped and evaded detection for so long) and blow the base sky-high.

For this mission, 2-3 GAR or Other are required and it is OPEN.
Objectives:
-Infiltrate the base while the Thyferran and Wroonian fleet engage the criminal fleet in space.
-Eliminate the organization's leadership with extreme prejudice.
-Capture and collect any data or information in the base's databanks, of particular interest is who funded and outfitted these criminals.
-Blow the base.

Mission Three - A Dangerous Game

The native humans of Marist are known for making incredibly fast speeders and participating in dangerous tests of speed and skill. On a planet where the strength of a potential ally is determined by their performance in several high-stakes tests, the Republic's team will be pitted against the very best of the Marist native racers. Unfortunately a pal lies over the events with threats of terrorism from a neighboring world and the Republic team will have to dodge all manner of obstacles on and off the course as the races become deadlier and deadlier.

For this mission, 2-3 GAR or Other are required and it is OPEN.

Objectives:
-Participate in the Marist Grand Prix, winning would be ideal but making a good show would be just as good.
-Survive not only the dangerous course itself but deadly competition from other racers and outsiders.
