Resistance Revamp?

How do you feel about this revamp proposal?

  • I love it.

  • I like the current iteration of the Resistance better.

  • The Resistance as a concept should probably just be nixed.

Spawned from the philosophical underpinnings of the Rebellion, the aggregation initially christened as the Resistance came into being under the auspices of Jedi Master Emilia Vuth circa 134 ABY. The alliance germinated as a confederation of planetary systems unified by the aspiration to shield liberty and existence throughout the cosmos, staunchly opposing the totalitarian regime of the Sith-dominated Empire. Despite functioning as autonomous entities, the constituents of the Resistance amalgamated resources, establishing a conjoined military apparatus and an extensive intelligence network. The Jedi Order, while retaining considerable sway, was outwardly depicted as a collaborator, not a helmsman within this collective.

However, as the tumults escalated and the Sith onslaught persisted, disenchantment started to insidiously infiltrate the ranks of the Resistance. Faction members started harbouring growing skepticism concerning the role of the Jedi Order and their Force-sensitive brethren within the war effort.

A momentous turning point unfolded during the Killik crisis that spanned 151-156 ABY. The necessity for Sith and Jedi to collaboratively repel the Killik invasions underscored the calamitous potential of Force wielders on all fronts. The event of Chancellor Alexander Xerxes, a Force-sensitive leader, going rogue and inflicting grave damage upon the Free Worlds Alliance, added fuel to the nascent misgivings within the Resistance.

Subsequent to the cessation of the Sith-ISC war in 157 ABY, a marked transformation overtook the Resistance. Its leaders, having witnessed the devastation and chaos borne from the participation of Force-sensitive individuals and the Jedi Order's significant involvement in the conflict, began advocating for the wholesale obliteration of Force-sensitive influence within society.

The syndicate initiated a campaign against the Jedi Order and other Force-sensitive entities, accusing them of perpetrating more destruction than aid. They posited that the corruptive seduction of the Force had precipitated incessant wars and conflicts, thereby engendering a state of unending turbulence within the galaxy. This rhetoric indicated a stark deviation from their foundational principles.

By 157 ABY, the Resistance had metamorphosed into a radical faction actively contesting the involvement of Force-sensitive individuals in any form of governance or military organization. This encompassed the Jedi Order, the Sith, and independent Force practitioners. The luminaries of the Resistance maintained that their actions were a necessary evil for the greater prosperity of the galaxy, aiming to construct a society where the manipulation or command of the Force bore no influence over decisions.

The newly radicalized Resistance, while preserving some of its previous alliances, has considerably distanced itself from its erstwhile supporters. Its paramount objective is no longer the defiance of an oppressive Empire, but rather the eradication of Force influence from all societal aspects. This shift has ignited considerable controversy, with many questioning the Resistance's abrupt metamorphosis in ethos and tactics. Nonetheless, the syndicate remains unwavering in its convictions, perceiving its cause as the sole pathway to genuine peace and liberty in the galaxy.
