Aska was torn. This meeting had not been going as she had hoped between the Administrator’s approach to their arrival and the droid revealing Ali’s elected hiding spot for the weapons. She was fighting the urge to simply throw the Zeltron boarding party back on to the beach and having Kayto take the ship back into orbit to attempt an escape. But then Ali had found her voice and for the first time since she had acquired the Togrutan slave girl, Aska was almost proud. It seemed that perhaps she had been rubbing off on the more passive woman. Kevrik, however, was less amused. As he turned his attention back to Alisaah, the harshness to his glare diminished slightly though it was evident he knew he still had a job to do. Instead of responding to Alisaah’s statement, however, he instead motioned for the pilot’s to bring the weapons over to him to inspect.

First starting with the SE-45, he spun the weapon in his hands and looked it over carefully. He would see the slight carved markings Aska had placed in the handle since she had left Coruscant with it. Each stroke marking a kill that the weapon had claimed, it was likely quite obvious what they indicated. Still, there had yet to be any illegal modifications to the blaster. Placing the weapon down on the table beside him, he then took the Bryar pistol and gave it a similar inspection. The vibrodaggers, however, he did not bother spending on time on.

”Hm, my apologies then, Alisaah,” L’Amara began. ”It seems these particular weapons are perfectly legal to own. Might I ask why you were hiding them?” Kevrik paused for a moment then waved his hand dismissively, smiling at the Togrutan. ”On second thought, it does not matter. You are right, of course. I should be showing both you and your…” Turning his attention back to Aska, who was still standing between them both with her arms crossed, a smug smirk on her face as she attempted to keep her pride in Ali’s interruption hidden, the look in the man’s eyes changed slightly to reflect his disdain for Aska’s own demeanor. Friend here the respect you deserve. Can I assume that you are part of a dancing troupe? Or perhaps once was?” L’Amara turned and walked away from the group as he examined the rest of the common area, turning back to face them once more and motioning for his pilot’s to return to his side. ”I was told by Representative Pintalli that we are in need of dancers for the final night of the conference. Perhaps I could extend an invitation to you and your crew as a means to amend my previous approach?” Smiling broadly at the Togrutan, it was clear that he was speaking directly to her. Aska looked over to Ali and smirked, giving her a slight nod that she should accept.

To Ali's surprise, speaking out seemed to have paid off. The Administrator inspected two of the weapons, though she suspected he hadn't done particularly thoroughly and totally dismissed the vibrodaggers which remained un-examined. For some reason he seemed to buy the story that they belonged to her and that for some reason, which she could only assume had something to do with trying to impress her. Being attractive had its perks.

Though L'Amara was willing to ignore the indiscretion with the weapons, his next question threw the slave off guard. He wanted to know if she was part of a dance troupe. In the context of what was happening it was a very strange thing to ask, but realising she was dressed as such, supposed she should provide an answer. Looking to Aska for a sign of how to respond, she saw her mistress nod and plucked up the courage to keep the lie going.

"Oh, yes. We, well, I was part of a dancing group but I decided to go solo" she explained, continuing her attempts to deceive the official, "Captain Ryun is my manager. She... makes sure that I'm well looked after."

The Togruta's green eyes darted back to Aska. There was a sincere look within them after saying the last sentence. Ali truly believed that her mistress did look after her, despite all the danger they had experienced and her initial fear of her when they met back in the auction house on Nar Shaddaa.

"And as you asked, sir, we keep weapons to ensure we're protected from unwanted male attention. We were just storing them to keep the ship tidy..." she said, turning her eyes back to L'Amara, hoping that he would take it for a legitimate reason to carry arms.

Every passing word that escaped Ali’s lips made Aska’s struggle of letting out a snide snicker more and more complicated. Perhaps it was simply because the Togrutan had been utilized as a method to uncover information from Zugg’s guests during their visits to his home but it had become clear that the woman at least had some degree of skill in deception. For the first time, Aska had found something that the slave girl excelled at and made a mental note of it. Such a talent could easily come in useful in the future.

”Of course, I can understand why a woman such as yourself would need to be concerned about her safety amongst some of the less than desirable men of the galaxy,” L’Amara responded, the irony that he himself was quickly proving to be one such a man clearly lost on him. Or perhaps he recognized the disguised insult and opted to disregard it. ”But I would love to present you to my superiors. I have no doubt she would be interested in hiring you for the evening and I’m sure you could use the credits for your repairs of this… vessel,” The Zeltron continued as he waved his hand vaguely to the common area. He was right, of course. The ship needed more than a little attention to bring it to a proper operating level. Still, Aska had the financial capability to see it through. What was more alluring was simply being granted access to the last night’s celebrations.

”Then perhaps you should be making the request to me,” Aska responded smugly, deciding she should join Ali in her ruse. ”As Alisaah’s manager, it is up to me to decide if such an invitation is worth her time, after all. I won’t allow my client to simply work for free or in an establishment that will tarnish her rapidly growing career,” As she spoke, the corners of her lips remaining frozen in the same cocky smirk she had held since Ali had begun her lie, Aska plucked a cigarra from her jacket pocket.

”Of course,” Kevrik responded, begrudgingly turning his focus to the human woman. ”I will transmit the address of Representative Pintalli’s office to you and inform her you will be paying her a visit to discuss the possibility of employment. I believe you will find any offer she presents to be more than worth your delightful client’s time and talent. Now, we shall depart and I look forward to seeing you again,” The Administrator continued as he turned to face Alisaah once again, bowing to her with a wide grin before turning and departing the freighter. As the door slid shut, leaving the women alone in the ship once again, Aska finally broke down in laughter.

”You sly schutta!” she said between fits of laughter. ”Well done!”

The Togruta breathed out slowly in relief when it appeared her ruse had been effective. The Administrator believed that she was a professional dancer who traveled with her manager seeking employment. It wasn't ideal, at least in her mind, but at least it would ensure her mistress remained in charge and making decisions and would most likely keep Aska happy, given that she did not want to be seen as owning a slave on this world. As the Zeltrons left, Ali gave a polite bow to L'Amara just as he had done and upon their exit from the ship, she slumped to her knees, sighing.

Aska seemed very pleased with her, but Ali was already exhausted. It was stressful trying to think about what to say whilst remaining true to what she was and what she knew.

"Thank you mistress, I tried my best, I'm really sorry that he spoke to you that way" she said, looking up and over towards Aska, "He should not have treated a slave like me with more respect than you..."

Teela who had finally been left alone to collect their weapons again, trundled over, beeping apologetically. Clearly the droid hadn't intended to get caught and perhaps had been trying to find a better hiding spot for them. The Togruta just placed a hand delicately on the astromech's head, but kept her attention on her mistress.

"But, I guess we got what we wanted. A way to be invited to the party. We'll need to go and see this Representative and that means we'll need to dress to impress" she said, eyeing up her mistress' outfit, "Pardon my observation mistress, but the Administrator does have a point about you looking like a pirate... we'll need to find you something more elegant to wear. But don't worry, I'm much better at this sort of thing than what we did on Nal Hutta, just leave it to me!"

Alisaah swore she saw Aska's eyes widen with what could have been outrage, perhaps fear, but took no notice of it. Parties were her specialty - it was what she did when she was owned by Zugg - and she knew she could help her mistress blend in much better than she was doing now.
