Oren thought about being locked up in the prison cell again, while he didn't mind the alone time that solitary confinement provided, it wasn't really something he wanted to go back to. But, the idea was enough to provide him some musing, maybe she just couldn't get enough of his roguish looks. But, that had to wait for later, the man's health didn't seem to be getting better at that moment.

He felt the force drain from the man, signaling his passing. He would move his hands towards the man's eyes, closing them. He would turn back, his face slightly flustered, "He's gone, those wounds were too grave, even for my healing capabilities. When we're done here, we should have the medical team take him away..no one should be buried here."

He would hold onto his saber, after getting a surprising confirmation from Trys that he could. He could see the unease on her face, her reluctance earlier was further proof that the man needed, was she scared? Oren didn't take the officer as someone that was afraid of anything. "It's going to..."

The sound of yips and screams came from the depths of the darkness, and Oren would quickly ignite his blade, a purple light filling the darkness around them, and with it revealing three massive monsters pounding towards them with arms drawn, mouths foaming and barking with blood and vial. The Master would step in front of the officer, as he saw two Trandoshans and a Wookiee come crashing towards them--This is ironic...he thought, given the relationship between the species, but these three were void of any presence in the force--The Walking Dead?

He would reach out with his left hand, centering himself in the force as he felt the energy in front of him. Molding it around his fingers he would push his hand forward, sending a gust that would send the three flying back several meters and into a wall. It should knock them out, or so he thought. But, it was clear that the Jedi hadn't seen a Zombie holo-film in his life, this wasn't how it worked. He watched as they slowly picked themselves up, shambling.

"They aren't supposed to be able to do that..." He'd say dumbfounded, his teeth gritting with anxiety. The three undead would be around 15 meters away, their feet twisted from the Jedi's force powers, which restricted them from running. "I could use a few ideas here.."

“Why stop at medical team? Let’s bring an entire parade of people through here so they can all get mauled like the old man did,” Trys said icily, finding his idea of wanting to bury the old man completely absurd. Already she could hear creatures approaching, and she began to panic internally.

Trys shined her light to spot the Trandoshans and….a wookiee?! There was something odd about their eyes, and she knew right away there was something very wrong with them. They all had big clumps of their flesh missing, and they smelled like that old man had before he died.

She watched as Oren used the Force to send them flying back, and she hoped that would be the end of it. To her horror, they began to peel themselves off the ground and start to move towards them. One of them had his legs pointed backwards, another had a bone sticking out, but none of it stopped the approach. Trys ignored Oren’s assessment of the situation, her eyes wide as she had to use one hand to shine a light and the other to fight.

Trys fired a bolt into the chest of the wookiee. He stumbled back for a moment and fell to the ground. However, he continued to claw his way towards them, crawling on the ground and slowly rising up.

“Kriff!” She shouted, drawing out her vibrosword instead. As one of the Trandoshans came rushing at her, she pivoted to its side and behind it diagonally. She barely missed it slashing its claws in the air, and she swung her blade horizontally to cleave right through the neck. Trys jumped back as the head fell, but thankfully the body didn’t move again.

“SABER YOU IDIOT! TAKE THEIR HEADS OFF!” She screeched at Oren. By then, the second trandoshan was rushing directly at him and had his jaws open to take a chunk out of the Jedi’s shoulder. The wookiee was splashing over towards Trys, who was now trying to keep the light on all her enemies so she could see them.

Oren watched as the scene broke down into utter chaos, a stun bolt went straight into the chest of the Wookiee, which sent him down to the ground, but still persisting. He would waste little time as the Officer yelled to him to use his saber. He would pivot his left foot back as he bent his knees slightly, his blade raising at an angle to cover the front of his body.

The Trandoshan would let out a deathly screech as his large reptile hands came leaping towards him with fervor. Oren would center himself, his lone eye watching the creature's movements as it descended towards him through the air, and he would angle his blade down as he wound up and slashed, cutting through the beasts outstretched arms, and stepping to the right, of his position.

The zombie would crash into the water and Oren would waste little time, as the arm-less beast would raise his shambling body up from the water, he would swipe his blade with one clean strike, slashing the head off of the Reptile in one go. He would turn back to see the Wookie splashing through the much towards her legs. Reaching out with the force he would attempt to hold the large beast in place, which would hopefully allow her to strike the creature down.

Trys had a momentary delay in responding as the wookiee abruptly spun towards her. Thankfully Oren worked to hold it down and Trys used her blade to cut through the neck and head, grimacing as its blood splashed into the water and around them. All three were now down, and she backpedaled away from the water.

That was when she felt a stinging pain in her leg, and she pulled up the tattered pant leg to reveal a gash. Trys stared at it for a long time before sighing, “It got me,” She said quietly, glancing up at Oren, “Leave without me. If this is like the Holomovies, it means I’ll turn into one of those things. Get outta here before I try to eat you or something.”

She wasn’t much for sentimental goodbyes. She was more frustrated than anything else, kicking herself for allowing this to happen. Trys expected the stupid old man to come stumbling in any moment now, and she would be one of those walking dead things herself. Pissed at herself, she splashed over to find a slightly elevated incline to plop down on. Once there, she pulled out a cigarra and lit it, deciding to have herself a smoke as she waited for the virus to take hold.

Oren watched with a smile as Trys dismantled the last remaining zombie, leaving just the two of them. He was close to cracking a joke when he caught her fall stoic and silent, her sighs signaling that something had happened. He watched as she limped towards a small incline. Well her foot is still working.

He would deactivate his blade, taking one last look at the zombies as she spoke about leaving him behind, how she'd become a zombie. Unless they had created a new strand, it was unlikely, he had his own hand torn off by similar creatures nearly three years prior and he was still not dead.

But, he decided to play along. The way she sat, and her smoke reminded him of some horror flick that his padawan had watched during their trip to Tatooine. Trys sitting there with a smoke hanging from her lips, and a cool sense of authority came across like the lead protagonist in what was it called? The Galactic Dead..yeah that was it.

He would approach slowly, seeing that it was only a gash, and that could easily be fixed with a little bit of the force. He would peer up towards the woman, taking on the accent of the lead male from that film, "I..I can't lose you, not after everything we've been through...you're just going to sit here and die like this? I don't know if I have the power or strength to do what I know I have to..and I'm sorry."

But, unlike in that movie where the character mercy killed the other, Oren would wrap his hand around her leg, calling upon the force once more--regardless if she wanted him to or not. She would feel a soothing warm sensation against her leg as the wound would slowly begin to close. Sweat built on his head as he felt more of himself drain from the act, taking a deep breath he'd look up with a soft smile.

Trys was happy for the cigarra, the smoking giving her a brief escape from the impending doom. She thought about her life and how there were so many other things she wanted to accomplish. Trys even got out a datapad to begin composing a letter to her son. She glanced up when Oren came by, and she couldn’t help but scowl at him. Did this guy never know when to walk away from a bad situation?

When he spoke, he did so in an accent, and the lines sounded oddly familiar. She blankly stared at him for a moment before it dawned on her – he was reciting lines from one of her favorite movies! Before she could stop herself, Trys actually began to laugh. It felt absurd to do so given the grim situation, but there she was, actually chuckling while plumes of smoke escaped her nose and mouth.

“I thought they didn’t have Holomovies at the temples,” She said with a grin, watching as he crouched down to look at the leg. Trys shook her head, “It’s useless, you know. I’m going to start turning any minute now. I don’t think I’ll be coherent enough to use any weapons, so you may as well take my sword and-“ That was when she began to feel the effects of healing. This was a sensation she had never felt before, and it was oddly soothing. Trys closed her eyes, feeling as if she were soaking into a wonderfully warm jacuzzi and having a nice day at the spa.

By the time it was done, Trys had a slightly dazed look on her face. She glanced down and was surprised to see the wound was closed off, “That…felt amazing,” She said quietly, “I should get hurt more just for that,” Trys inspected where the open wound used to be from multiple angles. She looked up at Oren and hesitated for a moment before muttering in the quietest voice ever,“….thanks.”

She rose to her feet, the pain having subsided considerably. Trys didn’t like relying on anyone for help, and she hated that now she was indebted to Oren to a degree. She started walking past the dead bodies, shining the light with her commlink once more as she kept walking.

“Why are you alone in looking into this problem with the zombies?” She asked out of curiosity, “Why didn’t any other Jedi step in to help while you were jailed?”

Oren tilted his head at Trys' rare smile, it seemed that his healing had did the trick. The Jedi Master thought the look suited her, and seeing her spirits lifed was enough to help reinvigorate the tiring Jedi after two healing attempts. He would wipe the sweat away from his forehead as he let out a soft chuckle, "I haven't seen many films, but when you're raising a teenage girl, you tend to see these things in passing." A soft twinkle formed in his eye as he thought about Nara.

He watched as the woman jumped down from her spot, complimenting him on his work. He wasn't really sure what to say--he had never been quite good at these sort of situations. He felt the markings on his face begin to expand with thick redness, as he nodded towards the woman's thank. "You have a nice smile," he'd say as his voice cracked. That was the best thing we could come up with...really?

He'd take a deep breath as she walked past, changing the subject to how he had even gotten onto looking into this case. "Well..it was nearly three and a half years ago, I received an urgent transmission from a contact of my late master, that a child had gone missing on the planet Utapau."

He would talk slowly as they continued down the tunnels, which slowly lead into a more rocky surface--the mining facility had to be close. "When I arrived with another Knight, we had quickly found that it was a trap by a minor gang, who took the child as a hostage, demanding that we assist in cleaning up a rampant spice problem on the lower levels, and then they would release the child." His voice wavered for a moment, "When we got down there, we found the people infected and slowly dying. There was maybe twenty or thirty of them, and they overran us quick. I lost my hand and we had to retreat. By the time the Sector Rangers arrived, the city and government had refused to let the Rangers visit the lower levels."

He'd shake his head as he thought about the kid, or if there even was one. "It weighed heavy on my shoulders and when I was good to go, we went back out there, and we found that the whole lower city had been infected and locked away by the government officials. Myself and two other Jedi were able to find that the gangsters had hidden the spice within their water treatment facility, and whatever was in this creation quickly spread, infecting and killing them all. I tracked down the remnants of the gangsters on Nar Shaddaa, but they said that Lee had paid them and gave them instructions from his source." His voice nearly cracked, "I never find that kid, and before I could do anything about it the whole incident on Naboo occurred and you know what happened."

Not all was bad about the situation, he had met Elom and his associates while in the prison, and their conversations had confirmed that Lee was involved as a middleman for some sort of organization, who was paying big credits to use his facility and distribute to gangs. "And for the Jedi..I don't know, I think they were more worried about me, than anything else." He'd say with a sigh, it was clear he had been carrying a lot of weight on his shoulders, "When I'm not on missions, I'm training or surrounded by an army of little seven and eight year olds..." He'd chuckle as he thought about all of their little faces, "I don't get the chance to talk to many adults in the order..so this is nice."

Trys simply stared blankly at him as he mentioned she had a nice smile while his voice cracked. Comically, there was no reaction whatsoever - no blush, no looking away, nope, just a straight up blank stare with no real expression. It was clear they were both absolutely atrocious in this field.

Thankfully for them both he moved onto answering her other question. She walked alongside him as he spoke. Something stuck with her after he finished, even though he mentioned it much earlier.

“You mentioned raising a teen…” She said quietly after a moment of pause, “Your daughter?” There was an odd sense of curiosity in her tone. Trys couldn’t help but think of her own son - the boy was now a teen and quite a handful. It wasn’t something she often divulged, and he was the center of her galaxy. Oren would immediately feel a shift in her demeanor as she asked the question, something that was oddly warmer than her usual icy aura.

Trys had to grin at his comment about Jedi worrying about him, “You certainly do have a following,” She muttered quietly, “Despite all the bullshit, I am glad that the Jedi exist,” Trys sighed, “We really don’t have the means to fight the red sabers to be perfectly truthful,” She hated admitting that, but it was the truth, “We simply don’t have the expertise or resources. So we certainly do need people like you,” Trys managed a faint smile, “Just need to keep you guys from going too trigger happy.”

She looked up ahead and could see some stairs that led up a level. Trys began to take the stairs and she could faintly make out some street lights far ahead. She only hoped the rest of the way would be uneventful, but she was alert just in case.

Oren could feel her mood shifting through the force, though he didn't really need it to see that something on her face had changed at the mention of his daughter. Nara wasn't blood related, but she was practically his own. "Yeah," he'd say as he turned back with a soft smile, "She was an orphan that the order brought in..she has the mouth of krayt dragon, and a keen skills for fixing ships and droids." He'd sigh as he thought back to their memories.

"I got out of prison and found she's grown about a foot taller and is..well she is an adult now, she's close to being a damn good knight. She wants to start up a small clinic on Nar Shaddaa, to help the sick." He gushed slightly, "I guess she has a boyfriend now? I'm not too sure how to process that one." He'd chuckle as he turned back to her with a wide smile, "How about you, do you got any little bad-asses running around and taking Jedi Masters down?"

He would listen to her response as they walked, genuinely interested in her past and her life. The galaxy was full of stories, that were waiting to be told. This was why he fought, to maintain a sense of normalcy for the majority. "These red sabers are dangerous, and it will require all of us to work together, doing things the right way." He'd say with a sharp nod, though he'd crack a slight huff towards her quip, "I know a certain one eyed individual that could use that monitoring."

The two of them would step out onto the street, in front of them would be a large fencing system with an industrial complex hidden behind it. It looked abandoned, but he had a bad feeling it wasn't. Something told him, that the three year investigation could be coming to an end at this moment. He would move towards the gate, feeling around the chain link until he found an opening. He would hold it up, allowing the Officer to duck under and take the lead. "How do you want to do this?"

Trys stopped in her tracks when he mentioned having raised an orphan. She gazed at Oren with slightly wide eyes, “Did….did she have someone while you were locked up?” The concern in her voice was almost palpable, and truthfully she suddenly felt sick to her stomach. She had put a man in prison who had an orphan that had no one for two years? Trys had to quickly try and suppress her feelings on the matter, remembering that Jedi could ‘feel’ these things.

She started to walk again, though her demeanor was still shifted from where it had started prior. His story about his daughter actually brought a smile to her face. Trys ran a finger through her hair, a habit she often did when she was delving into uncharted territory, “I have a boy,” She finally said, “I’m all he’s got and...vice versa. I’m away a lot so it’s been difficult, and it kills me,” She looked up at him, grimacing, “I...had no idea. I can’t even imagine for two years,” Her features softened then, “Well if she still doesn’t hate you then that’s a testament that you’ve been a good father.”

Trys thought about his commentary about the red saber, nodding at his words, “Even then,” She said quietly, “Not all of them are so terrible,” There was hesitation as she admitted the words, “Some appear to just be….misguided and given powers they’re not sure what to do with. They can lash out with violence when they think it’s to protect, but they simply haven’t been taught about any better or other way. I’m hoping that the Jedi can seek to change the ways of some of the red sabers instead of just fighting or killing them,” She knew that was a sentiment that wasn’t shared with most civilians or even other Rangers.

Once they arrived at the chain fence and he lifted it up, Trys ducked down to step through. She took in sight of the complex, not spotting anyone, “Let’s try to circle around for a better look,” Trys started walking more off to the side and towards and small hill that overlooked the complex. As she climbed slightly and looked down, she could see better.

Almost immediately she could see several pale, white humanoid figures crouched down over something. As one of them moved, it appeared to be a dead body. One of the creatures was chewing into an arm and tearing the flesh away. Trys’s eyes widened, “That...looks like a Ranger uniform,” She muttered quietly, looking at Oren, “And those things...they don’t even look human. They look like they’re further along in whatever process started with the wookiee and Trandoshans,” Did these things get posted as guards around the mining facility or did they simply overrun everything at this point?

Oren would tilt his head as the Officer stopped dead in her tracks, only a mother would have such an instinct. "Well.." His words would fall from his lips with uncertainty, but it was all for dramatic theatrics, but the Master was never that good at being mean. "She was fine, there were plenty of people there to watch over her..it's kind of like a college campus." He had never been on one before, but he had seen a few pictures and they looked similar enough.

He watched her open up to him, how it was just the two of them. She was a hard worker, and it was evident that everything she did was for her son. "It's hard," the older man would say with a heavy sigh, "One day, they're wrapping their arms around your leg, you close your eyes and they're fully grown."

"I'm sure he knows how hard you've worked, kids don't like to admit it, but they see it."
He'd smile as they walked, "All you can do is try and show them the right way to do things, and be there for them when you need them, and hope that they don't make the same mistakes that we do." He had made plenty, and was still embarrassed about the whole prison situation.

Though a brow would raise slightly as she mentioned that not all of these red-blades were evil. He tended to agree with her there, though he had a feeling that not many of his fellow Jedi would see things that way. "You sound like a Jedi Master," he'd say with a soft tone, "I tend to agree. their outbursts are like children..they just haven't been shown the way, as you can see by my face." He thought about it all, "The Darkside of the force is addictive and it's always there to tempt you, you have to be actively aware or even a Jedi could possibly fall if they weren't careful. But, our Order was founded on Redemption, and I believe that someone can be, if they learn to accept the responsibilities for their actions and make the active decision to change." He paused, "If they want help, I will be there to help them in their journey."

Though the talk about the philosophy of the force would have to wait. He would pause as Trys pointed out towards the mutated creatures that were chewing on the arms of a Ranger. He'd sigh as he tapped his mechanical hand against his chin. "You're right, whatever they're building in there could be smuggled to any major planet in the galaxy. Nar Shaddaa, Coruscant, Corellia..countless places and a galactic pandemic would occur." He'd shake his head, as he cracked his fingers. "We have to something about this. Let's sneak in and assess the situation."

He would slowly creep towards the zombies, he would peer towards Trys, "I'll take the one on the left, you take the one on the right.." He'd nod, "On your call."

Trys nodded to his suggestion of them both taking on the zombies while they were distracted, “We need to be extremely quiet,” She whispered, taking out the vibroblade and crouching low to slowly approached. Trys kept glancing over at Oren, remembering his broken nose. Would the dead body’s smell be overpowering enough to cover the scent of both their injuries?

The sounds of tearing flesh became louder and louder, and she could smell the copper stench of blood. Trys grimaced as she tried to ignore the fact that someone that used to be a person was being shredded apart and eaten mere feet ahead of her. Every now and then, one of the zombies would pause and jerk to look to the side. Trys stopped moving completely, motioning for Oren to halt as well.

After a slow pace, they finally covered the distance needed. That was when she looked at Oren and gave him a nod before bursting forth into a short run. The zombies lurched up and began to turn, but Trys had already crossed the distance and swung her blade horizontally and clean through. It was a quick kill, the head lobbing off easily. Trys stepped away to avoid any of the blood spilling on her, trying not to look at the mangled remains of the dead Ranger.

Trys turned to look at the building and was dismayed to find the door already slightly open. She slowly made her way to it, walking in to smell the horrible stench of lingering death. The main hall was empty, the fluorescent lights flickering on and off. She slowly walked down the next hall way, glancing into a side room that had the door open. She could spot a severed arm there.

She paused and looked at Oren, speaking quietly, “...I think we might be the only people alive here,” Trys felt sick to her stomach, “Can you….sense anything with your wizard powers? Any life?” She had a feeling of dread - as if they were surrounded on all sides but simply couldn’t see it yet, “We still need to find the main terminals and get the data for where the satellite factories might be.”

When Trys gave the motion, Oren would ignite his blade, the purple hue and hum vibrating through the air, causing the disfigured monstrosity to look up from his snack, flesh pouring from his mouth as he continued to chew. He would pull himself up slowly, his fingers and hands reaching out as it looked to approach the pair. Oren would waste no time as he reached out with the force with his left hand, shaping the force like a pair of tendrils--pulling the zombie through the force towards him. His right hand would cock his blade back as he twisted his arm sideways as he did a swinging motion that sent the monster's head clear off his shoulders and its body tumbling into the ground with heavy feet.

He would deactivate his blade, his lone eye shifting across the yard as they made their way towards the doors of the factory. Everything was quiet, the force seemed dead here, not even soul--something didn't seem right. "Let's be careful," he'd say in a hushed tone as they entered the empty hallway.

The windows that surrounded the hall were dark, and he could see slight movements through the shadows, but it didn't seem natural. He listened to Trys, giving a gentle nod, "I believe you're correct...I'm only picking up dust," he'd say with a nervous tone, "I feel something, but it's not natural."

He would step forward, leading around a corner that revealed another empty room. He could see streaks of blood spattered across the walls. A small light flickered on a portal that read "terminal station", as the door slid back and forth, as it hit what appeared to be a foot. He could feel his heart beating as looked towards Trys, "I've got a bad feeling about this." He would say as he made his way towards the door's control panel, he'd press the button, causing the door to completely open.

The room was covered in blood and several workers were dead, with wounds through the head. It seemed they had either killed themselves or were killed by someone. All around the room were glass panels that look out over the factory floor. He heard a gentle rumble from within the depths that hid behind the windows. He would step forward, pressing his hand onto the glass, "..There's..thousands of them."

Trys hated being right sometimes, and this was one of those times. She wanted Oren to feel other life, but he clearly felt nothing. She remained silent as they walked down the corridors and came across the door. Trys saw the foot that blocked the door from closing entirely, a feeling of dread growing at the pit of her stomach.

She glanced over at him as he mentioned having a bad feeling, “You know, you space wizards seem to say that a lot. Right before you head into something awful,” Trys grimaced. “I ought to stop whatever the hell I’m doing anytime I hear you say that,” She followed him in regardless, knowing this was where they had to go.

Trys looked over the glass and felt her heart sink. The entire facility had been turned into the monsters, and they had to get what they needed and leave. Trys was privately thankful that there was at least a level between them.

She turned her focus on one of the nearest terminals, booting it up. She began to work on it to see if she could pull up any information. After a moment, Trys paused, “So…” She said grimly, “When I start to access and extract this stuff, it’ll sound an alarm,” Trys turned to look at him, “They’ll all start running towards us,” She chewed on her lip nervously.

Trys glanced up at the ceiling panels, “Cut a hole up there and maybe we can escape through the vents or shafts after we have the information,” She looked back at the terminal, “Or….we walk away from this,” It was a dreadful option. It meant this horrendous disease could keep spreading. The other was to risk facing the entire horde barging in here.

It was just the two of them and they had to make the call together.

The Jedi Master hardly knew anything about computers, terminals or tech. I probably should learn to use these things... His face grimaced at his inadequacies at that moment, but fortunately Trys seemed to know what she was doing. He watched her slender fingers tap away on the controls, but he knew something was wrong, and when she turned to him with a nervous look he knew that it wasn't going to be good.

If an alarm really did go off, not only would those creatures start to climb, but any that were locked away in the rooms that they had passed by would find out too. They'd quickly be surrounded and probably eaten. He'd take a deep sigh as he thought about the alternatives. They couldn't walk away, if they did now, then the whole galaxy was potentially at risk, but if they both died here it wouldn't matter.

He'd ignite his blade cutting a hole through the ceiling, he'd pull a chair and place it below the opening, it should give her enough space to slowly begin climbing. "You and I both know we can't do that," he'd say in a gentle tone. "We'll secure the information, and we'll go together." He'd say in a calm tone, but really he would stay back to defend her escape. But, he couldn't let her know that, he knew what she'd say.

Trys knew what he was going to say, but that didn’t make it any easier. She finally nodded and waited till he cut the hole in the ceiling and pulled up a chair. Trys paused for a few more moments before turning to Oren with a scowl, “I don’t wanna see any self sacrificing bullshit,” She said flatly, “Your ass better bail and get the hell out too no matter what. No matter what,” Trys looked at him sternly to get across that she was dead serious.

She turned to look at the console again and began to work to extract the data. For a moment she could see the information and locations cropping up. Trys walked over and pressed the button to shut the door to the room, pulling up numerous desks and cabinets to block the way. She knew it wouldn’t be enough, but it would buy them some time.

Trys returned to the console and hooked up her datapad to download the info. She pressed a button, and almost on cue alarms began to blare. Trys looked over through the glass and all of the creatures paused and looked around at once. Trys ducked back as all their heads turned at once towards the room above.

“They’re coming,” She whispered, feeling fear rising as she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. There were shrill shrieks and cries as the entire building full of zombies began their rampage and quick approach towards the room they were in. Trys chewed on her lip till it bled, rapidly typing and clicking on files to move everything over.

Heh..how many force users does she know? It seemed the Officer knew his intentions right from the start of it all, he saw her scowl and sharp eyes pointed directly staring through his soul. The Jedi Master would give a quiet nod. He would center himself, his breathing steadying. His mind shifted to Nashyr, and Nara and the thoughts if he'd see them again. He acknowledged the fear, accepting it as a normal reaction before pushing the thoughts away from his mind. Trys would need his focus, and that was what he aimed to provide.

As the Sirens cranked to life, he'd ignite his purple blade, as he listened to the sound of the zombies awaken from their slumber. He could hear the building creek and bellow as the creatures began to shove against the wall that lead to the terminal station, their decaying bodies climbing on top of them in the mindless desire to feast.

He heard the thuds against the door, and what sounded like hundreds surrounding the halls the two of them had just come from. With each passing second the flesh eating monsters would ascend towards their direction, until it was to the point that they were crashing their heads against the windows, and falling into the depths of the flesh sea below. He could see the fear on her face, but the Officer did her best to get all the data they could. All around the windows would be bloody faces, and the glass began to crack. As the officer would remove the datapad, he would waste little time he'd deactivate his blade clipping it to the side of his belt before reaching out with the force to pull the Ranger towards him and into his toned arms. He'd quickly step onto the seat as he began to force her up into the shaft, the sound of shattering glass breaking across the floor as the dead began to pour in. He didn't dare look back, instead he'd make sure Trys was completely secure and in the shaft before he'd even begin to pull himself in with her.

He felt the bony hands of several creatures latch onto his leg as he was pulling himself into the shaft, pulling him back towards the room. He'd kick with his boot, as his fingers began to slowly slip away. Well, this is one kriffing way to go. He thought to himself. He'd peer towards the Ranger, "Go..Don't make me haunt you in the force.." A soft smile would form on his face as he knew he clung to the shaft.

Trys tried to focus on the task at hand instead of the thundering sounds of hundreds of deranged monsters trying to break in. She felt sweat line her forehead, the coppery taste of blood on her lips and a deep fear that was raw and churning within her. It would radiate off her like a smell that Oren could sense in the Force. However, externally, her face betrayed none of this and she had a remarkably calm resolve. Those without the power of the Force would never be able to tell she was even remotely stressed.

She heard the shattering of glass and the gurgled screams and shrieks. Trys pulled the datapad and barely began to process what was happening when she was abruptly pulled back. She slammed into Oren, and suddenly felt him shoving her up to the ceiling, “HEY!” Trys called out in protest, but she hooked onto the panel regardless, hoisting herself up. She spun around at once, glancing down to see Oren try to cling on.

Trys ignored whatever he said, leaning forth to grab onto the back of his clothing and yank him up with one hand. It looked like one of the zombies began to chomp down on his leg and attempt to take a chunk of flesh out. Trys’s face was pressed against Oren’s shoulder as her free arm went over him and fired rapid shots with her stun blaster directly into the faces of the creatures that clung to him. It allowed just a second of pause and Trys rolled to the side and yanked hard to pull Oren in, giving him a path, “GO GO START CRAWLING!” She screamed at him as she continued to fire down, aiming one at the chair to make it topple so they couldn’t climb up.

She scrambled back, adrenaline pumping through her veins as she spun and rapidly began to crawl through the shaft. Trys had no idea where this led, but she could hear the creatures at every turn below them. It was too dark to see, and the only sounds were her own rapid breathing and the sounds of Oren crawling ahead of her.

“We’ll be surrounded no matter where we drop,” She whispered, that same sense of dread returning. They had to guess and find a side room of some sort to jump down into and try and get out of the building.

Oren felt her face pressed up against his shoulder as his fingers slowly turned white with strain, he heard the stun shots fire off beside his ear, and slowly the anchor that held him in place began to lessen, until he was completely free. He began to pull himself up as the Officer used her own strength to speed up the process, throwing him forward as she demanded that the Jedi Master start crawling. He didn't protest and continued down the path, his knees and boots clanking against the tight space as he shuffled with deep breaths.

He would peer back, towards Trys, making sure that she was still with him--he could sense the fear, in her, but didn't mention anything of it. He was grateful that she couldn't feel the force, for she'd know his own nerves had been just as shot. "You're right," he'd respond as he peered down the slits in the duct, to see countless zombies shambling down the crowded hall. "This whole asteroid could be gone in moments.." He contemplated something for a moment, a slight concern on his face.

"You remember the three zombies in the sewer system..how did they get there," there had to be a hole somewhere in this facility, it would be a silver lining for them, but a nightmare for this asteroid. "We need to find it, and I need to tumble it..otherwise this asteroid will be gone within hours."

He tried to center himself, to listen for the sound of running water within the pipes, but all he could pick up was the sound of the dead's screams and muffled grunts, he would plug his ears as he felt their radiating pain. "We need to find somewhere quiet, you didn't happen to download any map systems on that pad did you?"

Trys paused when he asked about the map, fishing out the datapad and looking through it. She had downloaded a lot of data and hadn’t exactly gone through it. After a bit of searching, she paused and lit up, “Yes! We have a map! Good thinking,” Trys grinned, “Judging by where that terminal room was, we have a common bathroom that looks like it connects to some sewers. Straight down this way and then two lefts.”

She began to crawl again, thinking back to his comment about the entire asteroid being in danger. Trys had a sinking feeling about the zombies that were already out in the open. This compound was fenced in, but even then it had a hole in it. It was only a matter of time before this got completely out of control. They would have to find a way to destroy the entire facility and block off that sewer escape.

The noises began to calm down when they came closer to being above the bathroom area. Trys hung back waiting for Oren to open the panel so they could jump down. Of course, neither of them knew that the bathroom was a war zone. It had been the site of the last front where multiple employees had tried to hole themselves up and fend off the creatures. The three that they saw had managed to burst through down to the sewers. There would be piles upon piles of bodies to greet them as they descended.

Trys scrunched up her nose, smelling a stench even from in the shaft, “What...is that…” She whispered quietly, still crawling in the dark as they began to approach their destination. She had to make a valiant effort not to gag.
