As you may have noticed, our numbers (and the site's numbers as a whole) have started to dwindle. I think we should start a recruitment drive- offer new recruits higher ranking positions (specifically in the Army/Navy). We can do this by filling up Saber and Dagger Battlegroups with solely new recruits (save the Squadron Leader position)- all new Naval commanders start off at at least Line Captain.

Any suggestions on how to get people? We'll almost always be smaller than the Republic, but as of now we can hardly fight two full-scale battles without drawing from subfactions.

I post here first so that way we can come up with a solid idea before I toss it out to the rest of the site- don't want to promise something we won't come through on.

While we lack in the numbers department, we have the Republic beat strategically. As sad as it is to admit, no one in S13 has a head for strategy or tactics. A dark day indeed when the people Rping the secret police have no idea how they're supposed to operate.

Giving new members/recruits higher positions just because we need them filled is a recipe for disaster. The reason promotions are handed out are because people demonstrate that they know what they are doing and can be trusted to manage more than they are currently handling. Recruiting new people into positions of command has the possibility of leading to defeat after defeat due to inexperience with the system, strategic failures, and writing errors. People start at the bottom because we don't know them. Once we know what they can do we let them become something better.

Break the chain and you'll have a flood of new members attempting to bypass the bottom rung of the ladder rule, but they could be complete n00bs at writing with zero knowledge of how to Rp a fight either in space or on the ground.

Personally, I don't think membership is a problem. All we need are interesting military missions. Darksaber isn't the only branch that can pull off raids and other cool stuff. String a few minor battles in, have some propaganda threads IC, and people will be more willing to sign up. The general consensus for the Hutts has been that they lack activity. On the other hand, Hakim ramps up on side-projects and crowd pleasers to give the facade of activity.
