Recovery Noodles

Myrna felt mighty bad fer the kid that came in last of their merry lil' group. When she heard, of course she weren't certain what ta do right off the bat; he was a new face on the circuit, o' course, and to get a nasty spinny on top o' losin' his speeder bike an' all... she'd be fair to heartbroken if it were her, truth be told. Plus, she barely knew the guy, just that he was kriffin' young an', by reports, got a wicked road rash t' add insult ta injury.

So here she was. Standin' in tha elevator… a takeaway bowl of some o' the best noodles of the Smuggler's moon that she knew of.

She weren't soft on many, but racin' was tough, an' on this moon it were especially so. She had high respects fer most racers, an' this kid didn't get the best o' luck, so why not gain an ally while she were at it?

Matter o' fact, she didn't even know the guy's name until recently, just heard he was tossed in some bacta. Prob a rich kid, but hey, a little nice didn' always pan out so bad.

Well, either way she was curious to see how tha guy was gettin' along. It were the least she could really do.

[Kai]

THEME​

"Oh $*&#2@^-&%`~# YEAH!" The dazed expression on the grysk turned into a moronic grin as the smell of noodles hit his nostrils. If he were in a cartoon he would be floating off the ground towards the nearest bowl. But his curious expression changed to a normal one as Kai recognized Myrna and smiled at the food in hand.

"Hey Red!" His walk brought him over to her wondering why she was in the hospital. "Your bae isn't here is he?" The skull like head looking over his shoulder to see if Kenii had accompanied her. It was clear he wasn't sure why the redhead was at the hospital. Kai didn't even know that the other Zeltron had been admitted her. The Grysk was here for other reasons considering he got hurt fairly frequently and hospitals were also one of the many avenues of the drug trade. But he stood there, wishing the hospital food to be as tasty as the noodles in Myrna's hands.

Ken's mind was still racing over the news he had received earlier that day, so much so that he had blindly agreed to go visit the other racer in the hospital. He had entered the lobby, face stuck in his datapad as sweat poured down his forehead. Heh...Heh...Raising a Child is a lot of work..Heh..Heh..I'm not panicking, Myr's panicking...toootaly not me..I'm cool as Hoth. His teeth clenched as he walked off towards the desk, peering towards the receptionist, not saying anything for a few seconds, his teeth just nervously clanking.

"Can I help you?" The woman would ask with a raised brow as he peered up from the terminal.

"Hi.." Keep Cool dude, you got this. "is there anything I should be having my..." Oh Kriff, just say wife, "Wife doing..She's five weeks pregnant, is there anything I should like being doing for her? Should I have her resting in bed?" He'd nervously laugh as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"She's not your wife..is she?" A smirk formed on the woman's face as she moved towards one of the drawers, pulling out several datapads. "We give these out to all new parents, read up on them.."

The Zeltron gulped as he took the holo-books into his hands, nodding as he turned away. "U-uh..thanks!" He'd make his way down the hall, spotting Myr, "Hey..I got some books on this whole pregnancy thin..." He spotted that Kai guy, and his stomach sank. All Kriff. "I mean you know, those books on that pregnant racer I was telling you about.." Totally not helping dude.

He'd peer towards Kai with a nervous grin, "Hi.."

[Myrna Vel]

She heard a familiar voice, and turned to grin up at a macabre profile she was certain most didn't grin at right off the bat. "Hey there, Skelly Boy," she greeted cheerfully, smirking at his expression. "I kno', right? They smell friggin' fantastic, but hey, there was somethin' I was gonna ask ye if ya were interested later. Didn' expect ta see you here afer all, bu' yeah he's right behind--"

It were almost comedic timing with Ken jogging right up behind them and blurting it aloud, and if she had a hand free, she would have slowly facepalmed. As it was, she just slowly closed her eyes and sighed, wishing the floor could just up an' swallow her now, then shot Ken a weak smile, and gave a short, embarrassed half-laugh half-sigh, feeling her cheeks and ears flush a bright red. Future baby daddy, errybody. Best one.

"...Ya mean me. Yup, thanks babe. Jus' found out, but that's not why we were here," she turned to Kai, still grinning weakly and wishing she could just conveniently forget all of this. Tho it were probably a good idea to get checked here anyways. "I have a proposition fer ya, Kai, if'n ya got the time."

She tilted her head for an offer to follow to both of them, then turned to the receptionist. "Scuse me, bu' where can I find a pink boy, answers to... Jahn?" She thought that were the name anyways.

The woman gave her a blank stare, then typed up on her datapad. "You mean Jahn Harlan?" She nodded, then the woman shook her head. "Sorry, he's not taking visitors right this moment, but if you'll wait in the cafeteria we'll call for you if he feels up for it. Miss...?"

"Myr Vel. But ya can just say Red, wit' noodles," she replied, giving a half smile. "Where's the cafeteria?"

After getting the directions, she sighed. Looks like this visit were going on longer than she wanted... but maybe it could work. "Care to follow, Skelly Boy?" she said over her shoulder, beginning to go in that direction. She already figured Ken would come along. She were fairly certain he would never let her outta his sight again as it were.

[Kai]

Kai listened to Myr's quick gab as entertained as ever. Looking towards the arriving Kenii, the Grysk made a face. The way the Zeltron spoke was peculiar to say the least. "Right...hello."

A chuckle came from Kai as he heard how relaxed Myrna was compared to her baby daddy. The Grysk knew plenty of people that had kids at a young age. He knew plenty of guys that really just accidentally got someone pregnant. A lot of them acted like how the Zeltron was. I'm so glad I don't have kids. I'd be the wOOOrst dad....or maybe....the best dad..

"Yeahallears" His face focused on the redhead in front of him as she mentioned a proposition. Following after her he listened to the other Zeltron racer that had crashed. "Oh $#*% that guy from the race...on the speeder bike...HE'S HERE?" An amused expression spread across the Grysk's face and he couldn't help stop himself from letting out a loud laugh and stumbled like his legs were going weak from how funny the irony was. "Oh FORCE that's hilarious" A sigh escaped him as he declined from the humor he found in the coincidence. Also because he was pretty sure the guy would have crashed on one of the later legs of the race anyways since it had involved skylanes and he hadn't even been using a swoop bike.

It seemed the injured man wasn't seeing visitors though. A chuckle followed Myrna's request to be simply called 'red, with noodles' though he really hoped they said it in the same accent Myr bore. "Cafeteria, good choice. After smelling those noodles I'm starving." He quickly got in line to get mostly sweets and the junkiest food there was. Soon after the dark sider sat down across from the two youths.

Ken's face flushed a deep purple at the sight of Myrna, she looked so tired and done with his schutta and i had only been what, not even a day? He held the books close to his chest as Kai gave him a side look, and the young Zeltron wanted to quickly just evaporate into a mound of dust right then and there. Yeah we were sooooooo cool, good job Kenii you stupid Nerf Herder...

He walked behind the two of them, as he peered towards the ground, contemplating if he was even ready for this sort of thing. He only felt cool, calm and collected when tinkering on machines or behind the wheel, otherwise he was probably one of the most anxious people you could ever meet, and he always second guessed himself.

He'd take a seat, opening the datapad and would begin to read through it, he figured Myrna was kriffed at him, though that could have been his anxiety speaking to him. He wouldn't look up from it, unless called upon--yeah keep your head down you bloody fool.

When they stepped into the cafeteria, some smell hit her. Somethin' that made her stomach churn... and suddenly, she had a desire to bolt out of here. Wha' tha kriff… her head whipped around, and then she saw it. Some kina barbecue, but the smell alone in the line made her acutely grateful she had the noodles close enough to her face that it mostly overpowered it. But she saw Ken's face, an' felt a hit of remorse. Aw kark… me an' my big mouth.

"Hey babe, thanks fer gettin' the books; didn' even think about that." She weren't hungry yet, but she mighta' changed her mind seein' all the sweet stuff Kai brought to the table. "Ken an' I.." she lightly nudged Ken with her leg, giving him a bright smile so that he could talk himself, "we're skippin' Nar Shaddaa, lookin' fer a place deeper Corewise ta set up a chop an' repair shop, get invested in a couple races an' things to roll in the credits. We were thinkin', since I think yer in the business, ya ight be interested in somethin' joint 'vested ta get involved in. Mebbe Corellia."

She were half tempted to bust open that container herself and inhale those noodles, though perhaps she could ask Ken ta grab her something... somethin' other than tha' barbecue, though. She felt a little green jus' thinkin' about touching that stuff, whatever was in it.

[Kai]

The man held a drum stick in one hand while the finger tips of the other hand already had a fair amount of hot sauce on them. "Location, location, location. There's a good game on Corellia. Lot's of potential." He commented and nodded. He wiped a hand on some tissues and then picked up a cup of water. "I'm interested. But I want to know the specifics. Doesn't sound like it's going to be cheap." His gaze looked between the two of them. They were partners with one another. Their business, the kid, it was fairly heartwarming for the cold ghoul of a man.

Continuing to only use one hand to pick at his plate, the Grysk used the other hand to pull out a datapad. He made searches on information on Corellia to refresh his memory. Seamlessly he was beginning to think about what interests could benefit him. Kai knew he had made plans for Corellia at some point but that was all still cliff notes in comparison to more recent stuff. A sooner initiative into that territory would be useful.

The Zeltron would peer towards Kai, placing the datapad on the table as he listened to both Myr and the man speak. It seemed that the two of them had some history, and from the little Ken did know, this man meant business and was starting up something. Corellia would be a perfect destination, it was well populated, which meant a lot of room for work, as well as the added benefit of being close to his parents--but he wouldn't admit that.

"Myrna and I have been saving up credits," he'd say quietly, "We won enough credits taking first and second to afford opening up a shop, something to fix airspeeders, swoops, landspeeders, maybe a startship or two." He'd tap against the table a bit, "We wanted a place where we could soup up racers and have the locale to race." He'd pause as he peered towards Myrna, "We're also willing to do more, but nothing too dangerous, I don't want to put our family at risk."

She nodded along with Ken, grinning. "Yeh… I've been workin' tha Outer Rim an' Colonies long eno' to have a decent client base, so we ken definitely have a solid clientele. Obviously, if'n yer interested in investin' and have any concerns, we ken talk things out."

But she slid a glance Ken's way; and suddenly she blinked, and leaned against him. "Hey babe, min' grabbin' some grub? My feet're killin' me after all that walkin' we did tha other day."

Some deets of the plans she had were best shared with Kai; but if'n Ken wanted to be a part of it, she mebbe could mention it later. But she weren't lyin', she were starved enough to chew through durasteel.

[Kai]

Kai looked Ken in the eyes as he spoke. He understood the young man was speaking on behalf of his own obligation. The Grysk could respect that. In fact as Myrna continued to speak, Kai thought about how things may have turned out for him if alternate paths had been taken in his own past. Part of him saw his younger self in the couple both of the kids or maybe he just recognized characteristics he had witnessed in others while growing up. While he wouldn't admit it out loud, it warmed his heart to see the two of them together. softy Kai could have sworn he felt a kiss on his cheek.

Myrna asked for Ken to leave, regardless the Grysk would think about the hospital they were standing in. Kai would wonder how sentimental he was being. All I've got is sentiment His head turned to look back down the hallway he had come. The silhouette that was there disappeared just before he could focus on it. It would take a moment before the man turned back to face the red head. He blinked several times and then focused on Myrna. "Something I can do to help?"
