Okay, so we have at least five people with active Chiss and we all want to rebuild this faction. We need to figure out who's in charge of what and what we need to fix/get rid of. What direction do want us to go? What kind of missions do you want to see? If its Chiss related, speak your mind! We will rebuild!

Well, I know that I am new here but shall share my opinions nonetheless..FOR THE ASCENDANCY! Ahem *Just played SWtor moments ago*

Who will lead?

I guess naturally it will be a former high ranking Chiss and it would be better if they belonged to one of the three families or the council. I am not sure who are the other members except for Aaron and Mara. I also read somewhere that the roleplayer of Arch'elie'lia wanted to keep her around. If that is so, then Heliel will the candidate who have the best chance to lead since she is next to the imperator and imperator RPer seems to be inactive lately.

If Heliel was lost to us, then Mara is a Mar and a high ranking officer that makes her a candidate unless a higher ranking officer in the Ascendancy showed up.

What need to get fixed?

The board is in desperate need to get fixed. We should focus more in micro management than a macro management. We have no fleet anymore to carry out the troops. And without the economic backing, we can not have many divisions. I think that is the most wise move is to have a single group to manage, covert ops or special task force with the mere intention of performing espionage, infiltration, sabotage, assassinations and their like of operations.

What direction do want us to go?

It is either one of two. Either we go out like a big bad wolf and work for the highest bidder or what serves the Chiss best in every occasion. Or we can ally ourselves mainly with one of the other factions. I prefer the former, it grants richer amount of possibilities plus we will remain enigmatic and it will keep our intentions unknown and harder for our adversaries to read.

What kind of missions do you want to see?

Anything that will keep the Chiss active and makes them act like a team. Five active people are a lot better than fifty who are semi-active.

Currently, such are my opinions.

Its also important to realise why the Chiss Ascendancy failed as a faction previously; Militarisation.

They turned themselves into every other warring faction by developing "super cool" soldiers with "super cool" guns, and completely gave up anything that resembled the Chiss culture. Do. Not. Militarise. As it stands, the Ascendancy is still indebted to the Hutt Cartel for the massive debt they raked up by purchasing idiotic amounts of ships from MandalMotors (Over 100bn of ships and guns... per month).

The important thing to remember is that you can RP as a Chiss, from the Ascendancy, without it operating as an Indie Faction. Remember the faction needs to serve a purpose beyond "for old times sake" or "for flavour", because if its just flavour you want - you don't need an Indie Faction, you just write the flavour into your characters.

Take your time with this, and please don't rush (or militarise) as so many Indie Factions fail when they try to rush into things.

Indeed, this faction needs purpose. It failed to get an adequate purpose in the past and was unable to do much. It tried to militarize to get a purpose, and that backfired. Espionage was proposed, but that didn't go over well. I have no qualms coming back here and restoring things if needed, but I want the members to decide a purpose. As Cassa said, this shouldn't be done just for old time's sake or for flavor. It needs a purpose. If you guys have ideas, either post them here or PM me.

Weiss will lead. How the faction operates needs to be fixed. As for the other things...well I'm currently too inactive to say anything. When I return to activeness I hope to have a character, who may or may not be Chiss, for this faction.

Well according to what I have seen from Wookiepedia. The Chiss is very xenophobic and tends to isolate themselves. Their military only consisted of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet and the Colonial Phalanxes. Perhaps we should stick to what the Chiss is really are. However, the Chiss needs to pay their debts to function. Maybe our purpose should center around economical advancement using our technological prowess while retaining insularity policies regarding political involvement. Simply, we got nuked and we will do it like Japan. The Chiss needs a company like Mandalmotors, perhaps that would be our call.

I am not sure how many active we are. Iron Max said at least five, currently I count three and can be four if Weiss comes back and that depends if there was a purpose or not.

Chiss active Rpers kindly raise your hands? We are collecting the absenteeism.

Honestly, I'd guestimate much less than 5. One, two at most. And those are Chiss characters, not particularly folk who are interested in RPing this Indie Faction (which, by the way... there has been no formal presentation of what the faction will do). But nonetheless, certainly not enough to justify a board to itself.

There is Lupaster and me. We have one person, Tend0ix or something like that, who said they were working on a Chiss character. Then there is EnderM5 who said he was interested and I'm a little confused as to whether Radiwalker will be joining us or not.

Perhaps, I misinterpreted regarding Radiwalker. Since He/she was going to involve with me in a social RP, I thought they had goals about the Chiss as a faction.

I do apologize about any wrong information given and I do apologize personally to Radiwalker as regarding putting their name within the plan without confirming it.

Even if we don't have a board since how long I can see it down to numbers, we are actually two. I am intending to enjoy my Chiss character with or without an independent board. We can make an OOC story topic so that the remain Chiss could share their plans. I am open for plots and I am still there if it happens in the future that a group of Chiss decided to make a group with a purpose.

Such is said, please forgive me if I looked self imposing in my former opinions. I shall leave the matter in the careful experienced hands of the former Chiss and this site's helpful operators.

Much obliged.

Well I think I ought to give my 2 cents as well: my character will stick with the Chiss, if there's enough people to actually have the Chiss as a faction. If not - then she'd work towards joining the rebels. Overall I do not see how the Chiss can fit into the timeline, as they would be shunned by the rebellion and the jedi, due to their previous alliance with the Empire and the Empire would view them as weak and wouldn't want to help them out. Perhaps the best bet would be to have the Chiss work with the Cartel, although it would be a twisted and weird story it might work out.

My Chiss character would prefer joining the rebellion, to being on her own, or joining the Cartel, because she wants to get back at the Empire for letting the Chiss fall.

My character will absolutely stick with the Chiss.

About the Missions, same as the above: Need to chill out with the massive military warfare and alliances with big factions, and simply be... there... If you know what I mean.

EDIT: Got a few ideas for missions. Who would I PM about that?

I think around 5 people. Enough for a faction. Debatable on if enough for a board though.

Not debatable at all, really. I think we'll probably have to remove the board. Stay tuned for a final decision.

[ST]Alright. Can it be left unlocked in the archive board (if that's an option) so items can be copied where needed?[/ST]

EDIT: On second thought, nevermind. No point in being high maintenance. We'll rebuild. I think it would be better that way. A new start. One this faction needs.

That wouldn't be an option. If it was unlocked, people would still be able to post there, and that would cause confusion.

Precisely and we can incorporate that in the whole crisis theme that should be present in the faction :P

Personally I think we should keep CAIN and the Shadow Walkers and lose everything else. CAIN because it is both our diplomatic and intelligence branch. Shadow Walkers because they are basically black ops. The Shadow Walkers wouldn't be a military because of how few they are.

This sounds good to me. Also, if you guys would like that, we could start up a group chat in skype and discuss all this, see how we can form the faction and possibly, eventually, get more people to join. :P

Excellent sounding. Everything other than CAIN and the Shadow Walkers make for pretty boring missions, IMO.
