Raym's Custom Armor

Look of the armor.

Raym fashioned this armor through modifying the armor with that he had used during his time with the Rangers. Having spent many years tweaking it and frankensteining other pieces of armor to fit the specifications he needed in order to perfect his craft. Raym prides his creation on offering versatility in most situations and enviroments. Armor placed in spots with the intention of keeping blaster holes away from anything that couldn't be replaced easily, Raym's armor offers decent protection at a bit of a cost to his maneuverability. Also it sports a paint job that consists of greys and more earthy colors, allowing for traversing through areas with some degree of camouflage. When taking jobs in more "civilized" worlds he will put a cloak over it, as not to attract unwanted attention.

LEGALITY

The armor is legal, as its basically surplus armor modified to help in Raym's work as a bounty hunter.

INTENT

To bring an armor that shows off the character's technological prowess as well as to display the rustic ingenuity of his upbrining.

Type and Coverage

Type: Medium Armor

Coverage: (Coverage regions for Light armor is 1-3 regions, Medium is 4-5, Heavy is 6-7)

  • Head: A custom helmet resembling a more fitted version of the Ubese helmet made from durasteel.
  • Torso: Blast vest that covers the front of his torso with replaceable duraplast plates. Also hosting pouches on the sides for either storing smaller plates for further protection, or to carry additional gadgets.
  • Back: Back is also covered by a plate similar to the one found in the front.
  • Upper Arms: Small durasteel pauldrons on the shoulders and some duraplast plating to protect the bicep and tricep area of the arm, all of which are held by harnesses attached to the vest. And finally some duraplast elbow pads for joint protection.
  • Upper Legs: Thin durasteel plating covering the thighs held together by a harness, and has knee pads for joint protection.

Functions

Function 1: Armorweave Underlay
  • Most often in the form of a heavy cape, skirt, or underlay beneath armor, armor weave provides some protection against the penetrating effects of shrapnel from explosives and other unpowered high velocity impacts, with only a small amount of bleed through damage (bruising or very minor wounds). It offers no protection against kinetic impact or energy, vibroweapons, or similar "powered" weapons.
Function 2: Vision Modes
  • This Allows a Helmet HUD to cycle to low-light OR thermal vision modes.
Function 3: Whipcord Launcher

  • The whipcord launcher was a personal weapon that fired a thin fibercord whip which then wrapped around and ensnared the target to restrict mobility up to 10 meters away while remaining attached to the mount point. It was detachable with a second use of the firing button. The whipcord launcher was favored by bounty hunters, as it was easy to carry and use and it virtually always ensured a live capture, though it could be cut by a vibro blade with ease.
Function 4: Jetboots

  • Miniaturized jetpack technology, jetboots (also called "rocket boots") are essentially boots to which small jetpack thrusters have been attached. The wearer must activate/deactivate the thrusters modes via wrist-mounted controls. Like an average jetpack, jetboots permit a maximum speed of 35kph and can maintain this speed for two minutes of continuous flight (flight mode). In combat (mode), they can be used in short bursts to propel the wearer up to seven (7) meters. Jet boots are much smaller, lighter, and less vulnerable to attack and damage than jetpacks, but are also very difficult to utilize effectively, and wearers can be easily thrown off course.
