Death Enabled
All Imperial Characters are welcome to open side threads.

The Lord Commander stood at the edge of the staging area, rain battered down onto his crimson armour, his face was bare, his thick black hair plastered against his skin. water droplets pooled in the half empty socket that was his left eye. Behind him the Imperial military and government officials huddled underneath tents, making their own plans on what to do with the prison, its occupants and even the Imperial Knights if they failed today.

There was more than enough physical might to storm the prison and reclaim it for the Empire, but the cost of life would be great. Most of the escapees were Ex-Sith, those who had chosen to fight the new Imperial Doctrine but failed. The rest were the worst of the worst, scum and filth who should have seen the end of the blaster instead of being housed by Imperial tax money. Fighting these kinds of people in close quarters was going to be bloody without the right tools and Wodan and his Knights were the only people in the Imperium which had the tools to deal with this.

His hand gripped around the lightsaber at his waist, knuckles turning white beneath the black gloves. Wodan had sent out a call to all of the Knights who were not on assignment to return to Raxus and meet him here. They had only been given six hours to get in, quell the riot and restore Imperial authority or else the TIE Bombers would warm up their engines.

Wiley stood with his arms at his sides, allowing the deluge to cause rivulets to stream down his red and black plastoid helmet. The design was uniform with the rest of the Knights but was no less intimidating as the eyes behind its visor looked on at the same sight as their superior. Wiley's frame faced the prison beside and slightly behind the Lord Commander. His posture straight but with a slight hunch that years of being in a cockpit had led to become habit. It gave the man a menacing predatory posture, confident in his position and capable of lashing out at a whim.

A wet field rodent scurried around on the ground but stopped as it drew near Wiley. It's small whiskered nose and big black eyes twitched and a moment later the rodent dove away, feeling the danger of being close to the Imperial Knights. Despite not being a Sith any longer, an unsettling air pervaded the space around the Ossein warrior.

Wiley did not need to be part of the planning committee. The man had a feeling it might not matter. Then again, the Imperial Knight tended to be chaotic and likewise adapt well to an equally chaotic environment. Regardless to what theater of battle he had come to in the past, whatever faction he had fought for, Wiley had always been the hunter and his enemies had been his prey. This place, these people, they were no different from any other. The inhabitants of the prison would fear the Imperial Knights or pay the price.

Varyn had already been on Raxus when the call went out for reinforcements, and within fifteen minutes he'd been on his way. Another two hour and he was here, and now that he was, he had more than a few questions pop up in his mind.

He wasn't a particularly eager person when it came to shedding unnecessary blood, but he'd be lying if he said it didn't seem like the kind of situation where leveling things with bombers might not be such a terrible idea.

But then again, who knew what there was by way of employees who might still be inside. He let out a sigh and begrudgingly mentally accepted that they'd have to do this the hard way.

He made his way over to where the others were gathering, his bright red armor blending in with that of the others and his sabers also hanging on his belt.

They shouldn't have saber access inside, right? I assume that they don't keep that sort of thing in the premises, he said to the others, his mind already swapping into "business mode" in preparation for the coming assault.

Wodan couldn’t deny that he was disappointed at the turnout, he hoped that most of those that did not answer were busy on other assignments throughout Imperial Space. But still only the three of them would probably cause more than one Imperial to snicker and create more backroom ammunition to have the Imperial Knights like the Sith Order before them, erased from the Empire.

“No saber’s no, but the guards would have had weapons of their own which no doubt the prisoners now have access to which could easily block a lightsaber if used correctly.” Wodan replied to the Knight Captain. He was happy that Varyn was one of the two Knights who had arrived, the man was more capable than himself when it came to a fight and would have been Wodan’s own choice to lead the Knights if Altair hadn’t bestowed the title on him instead.

Rain still battered down on the trio, as the hustle and bustle around them began to die down slightly, everything needed to obliterate the prison and everyone inside was assembled at the edge of the prison Island. Wodan spotted a rather displeased looking Imperial Officer brave the rain to move from his tent over to the assembled Knights. He looked each one of them up and down clearly as disappointed as Wodan that only two had arrived. “Your six hours starts from 14:00, Lord Commander.” He began swallowing the bitter pill of Wodan’s title. “If you and your men are still inside, we won’t be holding off the bombs.” He finished with a smirk, before turning on his heels and quick stepping it back to the cover of a nearby tent.

Looking down at his comm Wodan nodded. “Fifteen minutes to check your weapons and have a piss I guess then we are on.”

Varyn nodded knowingly as Wodan talked about the weapons they could face inside. It wasn't surprising, and it was still better than facing down an opposing lightsaber, but it wasn't idea.

Life's imperfect.

Before more could be said, an officer made his way over to inform him that he would - without much grief apparently - bomb them all to oblivion in six hours.

Funny, that sounds like something a Sith'd say. Thought they got booted so there'd be change, he "mused" aloud, knowing full well it would get under the officer's skin. He knew it wasn't prudent to antagonize your "allies" but the man was far too smug about the opportunity to kill his "allies" for Varyn's liking. Not to mention he didn't care for hypocrisy and... Varyn wasn't wrong.

For his part, Varyn was too anxious to eat anything, and had relieved himself just before arriving, which left him nothing to do but check his gear for the umpteenth time. No matter how many times he went into battle, the waiting was always the worst part.

Ready when you are. What's the plan? he said to the other two Knights as he finished checking his gear once again. The clock was ticking against them, and he didn't fancy being killed by some soldier with a grudge.

The Ossein was ten years older than Captain Atrix but it had never bothered Wiley to take orders from someone younger than him. Instead, he considered his own age as a badge of pride. After all, the aging force sensitive had survived decades among cut throats and lived a life where many die young. Similarly, he was not phased by the young Lord Commander's younger voice piercing the rain to inform them more of what to expect inside. Wiley still gave a singular chuckle at each of his superiors' jokes but did not turn from the prison or move from his spot.

"Rules of engagement?" He growled the question as both empty hands flexed into fists before relaxing and opening. Wiley slowly repeated this motion, imagining the dangers and violence yet to be visited upon their enemies. The place was possibly going to be blown into the upper atmosphere if the Knight's mission failed which the Officer had seen fit to iterate. But Wiley did not want to assume and go overboard with his duties.

If they were fighting unarmed enemies and if those were captured in the first place, then it made sense to Wiley that the prisoners might be worth more to the Din Empire alive and unmaimed. There could be individuals of worth being held in the prison, which is why they had not been executed in the first place. The last thing Wiley wanted to do was get on the Empire's bad side for being over enthusiastic with his work. Then again, bombs were scheduled so maybe they did not give a womp-rat's kark about the prisoners. Regardless, Wiley was ready.

Although it seemed like both Varyn and Wiley were already prepared, Wodan needed to piss. Excusing himself from the pair he went over to the nearby Imperial tent, passing round back before whipping himself out and relieving himself on the Imps command centre. If anyone did see him they didn’t say anything and it was a little gratifying for the Commander to literally piss on the Imperials who constantley liked to piss on him and his Knights any chance they could.

He rejoined the pair as they began asking about the plan and rules of engagement. “As much as the Imperials are happy to blow them all to dust, we will be criticised for any fatalities. So we are to keep bloodshed to a minimum, but, I trust both of you. If you feel it is necessary and your life is at risk, lethal force is authorised.” He replied looking both of the Knights in the eye as he gave the order.

“Ideally I was hoping for more of us as it's a big prison. The two key areas we need to gain control of are the main yard, this is where the larger group of inmates are located. The second is the Warden’s wing, we suspect the ringleaders are here, so tougher resistance but less of them. We will need to split up, I will head to the main yard, one of you will need to come with me, I can’t handle that many at once without casualties, the other takes the Warden’s wing solo.”

As its just the three of us, I will close the thread and drop the 48 hour and will just act like a normal thread.

Varyn let out a quiet hum as he thought about the dangers they were going to be facing and evaluated where he thought his talents would best be used. Ultimately, it was his feeling that the ringleaders - and therefore the Warden's wing - were critical to victory, and this... actually wasn't his first time hunting someone down in a prison in a Warden's wing. That felt like a lifetime ago, though, now.

I'll go to the Warden's wing, he volunteered, nodding and letting his hand drop down to brush against the lightsabers at his belt. No fatalities, huh? He wasn't sure how feasible that would be, but he would work to keep the deaths to a minimum.

I'll see if I can get them to stand down if I'm able to get the ringleaders, he said. He wasn't holding his breath, but time would tell. He was confident in his ability to fight his way there and find them at the very least.

Wiley debated replying at first but thought better of it. It would have been more bravado and confidence but that was not necessary at this point in the mission. It was better to show than to tell in Wiley's opinion. The Knight made a mental note to not kill anyone or cause life threatening injuries. The man tended to make a game of combat and set certain personal goals.

To Wiley, it sounded like the Lord Commander felt like Imperials were a group aside from himself. Were they not all Imperial citizens at this point? He was thinking of this when the Knight Captain called dibs on the Warden's Wing.

It was probably for the best that Wiley go with Wodan. The Ossein Knight would be more likely to remain in check if he was not alone. He gave a nod signally his comfort with this decision and understanding.

There were ex-Sith which was the main interest for Wiley. He could not be careless. A few rusty Sith could still take down a careless target with some stun batons and the dark side, even if they were a Knight such as him. He knew this, because he knew what he was capable of with little to nothing. For many, it was do or die for their freedom.

Wiley would draw his pistol as he followed the Lord Commander's lead, turning its frame in the rain and setting it to stun before he forgot. The weapon chirped quietly, signaling the change along with an indicator light. If there were going to be scores of them, it would be easier on his wrists if the Knight took out the canon fodder and reveal who had a sixth sense about dodging blaster bolts.

"Do you know any of the prisoners personally, Sir?" He asked Wodan when they left the staging area. The man had not looked at any of the files about who may be held inside. Hopefully that would not come back to bite him.

Wodan preferred allowing the Knights to pick their own assignments and how they carried them out. It was what little freedom he could give them, most were Ex-Sith and used to the near blanket freedom’s they had in the galaxy. Now they were wrapped in red-tape up to their necks at least he could let them choose which way to turn their head to breath.

A small transport craft began spinning up its engines to the right. “That is our ride.” He said to the two as he began making his way towards the vehicle. The only way for the trio to gain access was via the sky, dropping onto rooftops and making their way in from there.

Stepping into the transport as Wiley asked his question he turned towards the Knight as he took one of the jump seats. “A few in passing, but none too personally. Most of my friends left with The Order. Yourself?” He replied as the transport lifted off and headed towards the prison, Varyn would be dropped off first, once he was secure they would move onto another roof near the main yard.

Varyn climbed aboard the ship as it took off and carried them over the prison and he grabbed one of the handholds before leaning out over the side. He could see bodies already littering the courtyards and the walls of the prison, some guards and some prisoners. It had already been something of a bloodbath and Varyn let out a sigh before shaking his head.

They would have their work cut out for them and he wondered if this would be the mission. How many times had he only narrowly cheated death? Sometimes for the Jedi, sometimes for the Sith, and now for the Empire. If he were honest with himself, this was perhaps the cause he was most prepared and willing to die for. They may hate him for who he was but that wasn't why he was here. It wasn't about honor and glory.

The ship pulled to a slow and a light flicked over to indicate they were over his drop point and he glanced back over his shoulder a moment at the other two.

Keep yourselves alive down there, he said and gave them both a two finger salute before dropping from the side of the ship. His lightsabers were in his hands before he hit the deck, and he wrapped the Force around him to pull himself up from a harsh landing.

He hit the ground smoothly and started moving to get out of the open before anyone with a confiscated guard weapon could open fire on him.

The ex-Sith boarded the ship with his superior and listened before giving a similar answer. "I wasn't one for makin' friends back then." There were not any alive that came to mind that the Ossein felt he had been friendly with. Wiley was not sure it was a good thing or a bad thing to not have associations with the prisoners. It meant they were not aware of their enemy's capabilities aside from what can be assumed from their previous station.

When it came time for Varyn to depart, Wiley gave the Captain a nod. "You too, sir." Wiley had been a Sith long enough to know that he wanted a change. Now as a Knight he had that opportunity. He could try to be a bit more friendly with his coworkers and maybe even make some friends that did not die, eventually.

The Knight smiled and gave the Captain style points for how he left the ship. With one fewer people in the ship, Wiley moved towards the door and made ready for their own exit. Guards and prisoners alike lay on the ground in various state of injury.

Wiley covered the captain until the ship moved off but looked at the area below while keeping a firm hold on the ship with his left grip. Some people were wounded and unconscious while others had been killed in the breakout. One aqualish prisoner half stumbled, half charged out of a doorway with a pipe towards the Captain's six o'clock but Wiley reflexively took aim with his pistol and fired twice. The man got several more meters as the blueish circles impacted and dispersed across the prisoner's body. The prisoner joined the rest of the bodies on the ground having collapsed in an ungraceful heap.
