Ralaa was raised by her brother, Rath, on the planet Brentaal, outside the city of Cormond. Their mother, a former slave who had found freedom by helping the Republic rebuild after the second attack, would lose her life shortly after giving birth. Their father, working under the alias of a tradesman, abandoned them in the empty medical bay days later. Knowing the infant Ralaa shared a connection to the Force, it was decided that the siblings would be released into the care of the Jedi Order. However, when a Knight was sent to retrieve them, neither Rath nor his sister could be found. Fearing they may be separated, the 10-year-old boy had taken Ralaa from the nursery and ran.

For years he lived in fear, believing the Jedi to be shadowing them. Because of this trepidation, they rarely stayed in one place for more than a couple of days, but Ralaa never really understood why. Of all the time they had spent running from this near-invisible force, not once had Rath given her and explanation beyond enforcing the idea that they were somehow wicked. He had spoken very little about the war, but from the stories he had shared, the Jedi Order didn't seem to be the intimidators as he often portrayed them. It wasn't until years later that Ralaa would learn the truth behind these fears and of her connection to the Force.

With the war drawing to an end and the Grand Army of the Republic disbanded, an anti-Jedi movement left them widely unwelcome within the Republic. The Orders presence on Brentaal became scarce and, for the first time in her life, Ralaa was able to walk the streets of Cormond. Having spent much of her time living on the outskirts of the city, she had always imagined that it would be a vast and sociable place, but it was clear now that the war had left its mark. Some of the larger structures still stood, such as the spaceport and medical facilities, but other buildings seemed frozen in construction or forgotten altogether. Much of the activity seemed to be centered around the trade industry, too busy to stop and notice a small girl.

It was decided that, in order for them to survive in the city, Rath would take a job as a tradesman, transporting weapons and equipment between the Core and the Outer Rim. This meant that he would have to leave Ralaa behind to take care of herself, but being 8 years old meant she didn't really have the knowledge or the resources to do so. She had never lived a day without her brother and the thought of him being away frightened her, but she truly believed they had no other choice. Rath had deemed the city to be safe, from the Jedi at least, but hadn't considered the idea that the highly trafficked trade stops might bring about other dangers.

His first trip saw him away for more than a year. It was hard a first, as the city was an unforgiving place for a young girl, but eventually, Ralaa learned how to cope with her brothers' absence. To eat, she scavenged for food in dumpsters and trash cans and would move between abandoned structures for shelter. This continued for months after Rath departed until one night when trying to steal food from a vendor, she was approached by a hooded man. Upon her initial review of the figure, he appeared to be her brother, but as he moved closer he slowly shifted into something much more off-putting.

His deep-set eyes and mouth that stretched from ear to ear, made Ralaa shiver. She could tell before he had even spoken, that the situation was dangerous and immediately tried to run. However, before she could make her less-than-tactful escape, he curled his long fingers around her shoulders and stopped her. A very harsh voice whispered in her ear the name of her brother and she was pushed forwards. Even with her heart racing a mile-a-minute and all coherent thought tossed aside, she knew that, if she didn't go quietly, she would surely regret her decision. So, under the cover of darkness, Ralaa was bound and led through a small entrance near the back of the once busy spaceport whose halls were quiet except for the hum of a ship's engine in the distance, and the hushed prattle of its crew at work. She didn't need her captor to tell her where he was taking her. They boarded the ship and departed the planet, and just as she had suspected, they wouldn't return.

Ralaas questions for her captor and his crew were endless. How had he known her brothers' name? Where was he now? These questions would only be answered upon their arrival in the mountains, on the planet Lothal. Here they were received by an older man in dark, tattered robes. Though the 10-year-old Ralaa had never met this man in her life, his messy black hair and ice blue gaze gave him away almost immediately as her Father.

Without a word, he grabbed her by her restraint and led her off the ship. Outside they were met by her brother, also clothed in a dark set of robes. His expression was stern, but there was a brief moment where Ralaa was hopeful that he might offer her a smile. When his demeanor didn't change, she knew in her heart that something was amiss. Even so, she tried to pull herself towards him, feeling his arms may still be a place of comfort, but she wasn't quite strong enough to escape her fathers grasp. From the corner of her eye, as she was directed towards a deep cavern in the side of the mountains, she caught a glimpse of her brother paying her captor for his services.

It was later explained to Ralaa that Rath had sent for her to be brought to Lothal to be trained in the ways of the Force. He revealed that, when he had left her on Brentaal, he hadn't actually taken a job as a tradesman, but had instead gone to find their father in the Outer Rim. She had always believed that their father had been a tradesman as well, but now learned that he had left them to aide the Exiles in the fight against the Jedi Order and the Republic. Rath tried to convince her that the Jedi had started the war because they were envious of the Exiles control over the Force, but she had enough sense to know that wasn't the truth.

For the next seven years, Ralaa was beaten into compliance; tortured, challenged and desensitized to the war. Forced to follow the Exiles in their retreat from the Republic, she watched as planets burned in their path and entire populations were enslaved. She tried hard to resist their teachings, fearing they may send her to war, but it didn't take long for them to break her; all sense of empathy, kindness, and love seemed to be lost. Her brother, who had once feared the Jedi, now sought to destroy them by any means necessary and Ralaa had no choice but to follow. However, this time in her life, as dark and hopeless as it might have been, would ultimately be responsible for her transformation. Ralaa had a plan for escape, but first, she would need to prepare.

The young apprentice trained relentlessly, honing her skills in both bladed combat and in her use of the Force. In order to survive, Ralaa had to become stronger and prove to her father that she could be a valuable asset to their war tactics, but convincing him would take a lot of time, patience and a complete disregard for her moral compass. In an effort to set the perfect trap, Ralaa would participate and many activities that would haunt her for the rest of her lifetime, but in the end, it would all play a part in developing a relationship of trust with the villainous Exiles.

By the time Ralaa was 16, having succeeded beyond the stages of her training and earning the trust she had fought so hard for, she was granted permission to accompany her father on an assignment to the planet of Nar Shaddaa. It was here that Ralaa would turn on him, striking him down while he lay vulnerable in his sleep, and making her escape in his stolen ship. She would spend the next few months running from her brother and tracking down the Jedi Order to the planet Ossus.

An encounter with a Jedi Master, deep in the forests of Ossus, would mark the beginning of her training with the Jedi. Much of the skills she had developed during her time with the Exiles would aide in her advancement through her trial period with the Order and into the rank of Knight. Ralaa wouldn't see her brother again, until the tragedy on Ilum... an event that would leave the Jedi Order divided and Ralaa struggling, once again, to find her place...

---------------------------------------------------------

Years after Ralaa had joined the Order, she had another fate changing encounter within the forests of Ossus. A Shistavanen Exile had infiltrated the Jedi planet with the intent of capturing three younglings who had taken an unapproved adventure far past the Jedi grounds. Sent to find them, Ralaa and another unfamiliar Jedi Knight sought to find the children, engaging the exile in combat. In her failed attempts to subdue him, he secures a Jedi learner and flees to the planet of Naboo.

Unsure of how to present her failings to the Jedi Council, Ralaa decides to venture away from Ossus on her own in search of the exile and the missing student, hopeful to recover him before word of his disappearance can spread. She follows information that leads her to Coruscant and finds herself in the company of another exile, Silas Rin. Upon being extradited from the Jedi Order, he dedicated his life to protecting orphaned children and when their lives are threatened, he doesn't hesitate to join her hunt.

The two of them confront the leader of a local criminal organization, Mako of the Dead Suns. He has a bounty set on the Shistavanen exile and sends the two of them to Zeltros to seek information from his bounty hunter. Not wanting to find themselves in the wrong company, they decide instead to steal the information and Ralaa seeks out help from Mako, heedless of the consequences. He lures her in to his organization in exchange for the information, leaving Ralaa with little choice but to return to him once her and Silas have tracked down the fleeing exile.

On Naboo, she has a second chance to subdue the Shistavanen. Her and Silas defeat him and return the Jedi students to the Order on Ossus, which has been demolished in war. With her home in ruins, she sees the students transported safely to Jedha and returns to Coruscant with Silas where she comes face to face with Mako. Less than pleased by her refusal to cooperate, he sets his men to attack Silas' establishment and the children inside, forcing Ralaa to kill him and his guards.

Now feeling responsible for what has happened, she works with Silas to establish a new orphanage on Andara, risking her life in the process and developing a strong bond with him. Knowing her actions are wrong, she remains distant from the Jedi Order, finding sanctuary on Andara.

Soon her trust is betrayed when Silas steals her codes and infiltrates a Jedi world to attend a funeral of an old friend. The Council, alerted to the infiltration, begins and investigation which finds her on Andara. Feeling defeated, she confesses her actions to Master Zeerda and is stripped of her rank though allowed to return to the Jedi Order to rebuild what she had thrown away- again, searching for her place...

Like most Jedi before her, Ralaa is a strong believer that everyone has a destiny and that nothing happens by accident. Though the events of her past were painful and often difficult to accept, they had ultimately shaped and prepared her for her role as a Jedi Knight. From her struggles as a child that left her with a number of valuable strengths, like her strong intuition and wisdom to survive on her own, to strong emotional challenges that taught her the value of patience and healing. Still, it was the teachings of the Jedi Order, who had instilled in her the values of inner peace and the gravity of taking lessons from her past, that truly gave her a purpose in life.

The tragedy on Ilum shook the Order to its core, but because of her teachings and her belief in the Jedi Code, she tries to find its purpose. Ralaa understands that tragedies and failings, like the one on Ilum, are inevitable and that it is how the Jedi deal with them that matters. A Jedi must learn to rise above the chaos and work to understand the role they play in bringing balance to the Force. However, even after everything the Jedi have taught her, she often struggles with understanding her own role.

Clumsy, and quick to make decisions, the young Knight often finds herself in dangerous situations. She is loyal to people before concepts, which sometimes puts her at odds with her fellow Jedi, but ultimately her intentions are good. Ralaa believes that life is valuable and, sometimes it's worth the extra effort to try to avoid having to make a decision between someone's life and a cause. She has a sharp tongue and a hard time knowing when to speak and when to listen, but is said to be wise beyond her years due to her intense studies and dedication to recovering the lost teachings of the Jedi.

Approved.

If you're looking for a Jedi to have found her, feel free to use Eldfit. He's a recruiter and doesn't hold as deep of bias towards exiles.
