Zarine let out a yelp as the Ewok kicked out, his small stature resulting in the kick landing smack in her stomach. She clamped her mouth shut as soon as she could, but the damage was done, the Ewok had managed to get loose and his friends in the room beyond were drawn by the sound that had come from within the storage room.

The Ewok started shouting something that Zarine could not understand, but it was easy enough to guess, probably warning his companions. She gave up on any hopes of accomplishing anytrhing with stealth and ran after him even as he tried to dash towards the door. For once though, she had the longer feet, and was able to catch up with him just as he was about to get near Talak and the door. Acting on instinct, she lashed out with a kick, using the Force to make sure she actually landed a solid hit on the Ewok.

He let out another yelp, much louder than any sound so far, and went flying towards the door. Which opened up at that very moment, revealed the tentacled figure that had been running the counter up front. The Ewok slammed into the figure and sent both of them sprawling to the floor. Zarine saw and opening and made her move, or rather continued doing what she was already doing, running towards the now open door.

"Don't kill the meatman!" She shouted at Talak, running past him and stepping on the downed figure's face as she launched herself forward. She was sure he would do nothing of the sort, they both knew they needed to figure out what the meatman actually knew, but given her own earlier outburst that had landed them into this mess it never hurt to be safe.

As she sprang into the room a big human stepped up to block her way, and she barely managed to avoid his punch before pushing him away, using her own momentum to overcome his greater mass. But as she turned to launch another attack on him she felt something cold press against her forehead. "Don't kill me?" The meatman, a huge Lasat with sharp features and a wide smile on his lips, looked down at her. "Tell me, why should I extend that same courtesy to you?"

Zarine felt her heart racing, a mixture of adrenaline and fear almost making her body shake. She dare not turn to see what Talak was up to, so she just assumed the worst and reacted on the assumption that one misstep might result in a big fat hole in her head. "Because," she replied slowly, "keeping us alive can make you very very rich, while killing us will get you nothing. Why not listen to what we have to say and if you don't like it then kill us later." As she spoke she started tapping onto the Force, placing a gentle touch on his mind to try and convince him.

It wasn't that Talak couldn't be subtle, but things were already underway, which meant there wasn't much point to being stealthy anymore. In fact, Talak was still hanging back as Zarine just kind... charged in. It seemed to be working out, though. She'd taken down the Ewok, the creepy butcher, and had moved on to the Meatman himself.

He was just coming out of the room they'd been in and brought his foot around into a solid kick to the head. The Force enhanced his own body and the impact to knock the butcher out solidly, and... quite possibly kill him. Talak wasn't really sure.

The Lasat had gotten the drop on Zarine, but Talak had the drop on him. He didn't realize what Zarine was doing, and had already placed the unactivated vibroblade against the side of the Lasat's neck from behind.

And because if I flip this switch, I'm halfway through your neck before you can move your head to the side, he said, his voice icy cold.

If your little fur ball hadn't gotten uppity, it'd be more clear that we're just here to talk. So you're going to stand down, he said, putting his own pressure on the Lasat's mind. He wasn't exactly weak-willed, and neither of them alone would have been enough, but together... it seemed adequate.

I know why you're here. Play at being something else all you like, but you're both killers. My kids cleaned up your alley mess, he said, stepping away and moving back toward his couch.

But if you're doing business in my town, I want to know what you're up to and who you are, he said, giving the distinct impression that he didn't like to be kept waiting. @Wit

Zarine smiled as Talak spoke up, his blade pressed against the Meatman's neck, she could really get used to this whole working with others routine. As the Lasat moved back towards the couch, she quickly scanned the room to see if there were any other surprises waiting for them. There was one other guard, a tall human, looking almost out of place with how normal he looked. They had a witness, so best to stay subtle, but the Meatman's words had given birth to the beginnings of a plan in her head. He obviously had influence, and seeing how the old beggar had responded he also had resourceful assets in his employ. Both of those could be useful to their cause, useful to her.

She followed after him, taking a seat on the couch before she began speaking. "The warden," she said, "we have business with the Warden. With the right leverage we want to sway his vote in the upcoming elections, and make sure the right person takes his place after him." She could already see that the information intrigued him, the possibilities tempted him.

"If you work with us," she glanced at Talak before continuing, unsure of how he would react to her ploy "any profits we earn can be yours as well."

"The warden? You don't shoot low, do you?" He chuckled, appearing both amused and impressed, "I will help you with this, there is much I know that can...sway the warden. But if I help you then I am in charge. This is my town, which means my rules."

She wanted to smile, but instead put up a scowl. "And if we refuse?" The response was a smile as he pulled out a cigarra from somewhere and lit it. "Then you die. Even if you kill me and Chuck here you'll never get out of this building alive."

She hadn't expected anything else, but she had to ask. And now that she knew his intentions she knew how to act. She took that moment to grab the cigarra with the Force and send it flying across the room to impale itself into Chuck's eye, who let out a scream before being hit by a powerful Telekinetic wave as she held her hand out towards him. He crashed into the wall behind him, knocked out cold or dead. The Meatman's eyes widened, and for the first time there was fear in them.

That was the opening they needed. Help me. The simple message would reach Talak's mind, and he could sense her hold on the Lasat's mind. Even scared he was too strong willed for her to deal with on her own, but with Talak's help she could surely break through.

"You will help us. We don't work for you, you work for us. For me." She kept it short and simple, but each word was laden with the Force, tendrils of power latching onto the opening his fear had provided and drilling into his mind. And while earlier she had been subtle, she hit him now with almost all her strength. His fear fueled her, and she turned it against him. She would either turn him or kill him in the process.

Talak didn't like being threatened, but he kept his thoughts under control. He didn't need to lose control or blow their operation because of his impulse, though his mind did start imagining all the ways he could dice this guy up and turn him into his own meat for selling.

Zarine seemed to be negotiating better, so Talak bided his time, glancing back at the thug. He was a bit surprised when she made her move, and with the request for help, he didn't hesitate any longer. He reached out his hand and dove into the man's mind. He knew how to tear a mind apart, but he had the distinct impression that she wanted his mind in one piece. Still, he placed more pressure than was probably necessary.

I won't... I don't... aaaargghh, his objections were cut short as he collapsed onto the floor, clutching his head and writhing in pain. He tried to resist, but it was simply starting to tear his mind apart.

OKAY! STOP! he finally gave in, willing to do almost anything to make the pain stop. He didn't know that he'd lost a piece of himself already.

Whatever you want... it's yours... he started again between gasped breaths. @Wit

As his mind finally broke Zarine stepped up and locked eyes with him. She had not expected the night to go like this, but this unexpected opportunity was about to bear fruit and being so close almost made her push more than she should have. It took some effort but she did manage to loosen her hold on his mind.

"You work for me now, your life belongs to me. And in return," she leaned in, face inches from his, "I am going to make you the most powerful man on the planet." She pressed once more, driving another short but sharp tendril of pain into his mind. "Just remember this day, remember what will happen if you ever betray me."

"Yes...I mean now, I won't. I swear." She smiled at his reply and let go of the pressure on his mind. She straightened up and took a seat on the couch. When she spoke again her voice was sweet and friendly. "Now, you said you had information on the warden, my friend and I would very much appreciate a copy of what you have."

He didn't have to be told twice, almost jumping out of the couch as he ran for a picture hanging on a wall and opened a safe that was hidden behind it. As he was fumbling with getting it open and extracting whatever he wanted from within, Zarine turned to Talak. "Thank you." The words were simple, but sincere, she recognized that she could not have achieved what she just had without his help. "I really do owe you now. What I can offer is at your service."

The lasat returned then with a datapad in his hand, and held it out to her. She scrolled through the various documents he had on the warden, bribes, mistresses, illegal holdings. This would indeed be more than enough. She transferred a copy of the data onto her own datapad and held it out to Talak. As he would go through the information she returned the original to the Meatman.

"This is very impressive my friend. Once the warden is replaced you can expect a hearty reward for your help." He didn't say anything, just appearing relieved. "Shall we go pay the warden a visit then?" She asked Talak as she got to her feet and began making for the same door they had entered through, best to keep this little meeting just between the three of them. As she was about to enter the storage room she stopped and glanced back at the Meatman from the doorway.

"You work for me now, but no one but you will know of that. This stays between us, understood?" There was a look in her eye that told the Meatman there would be consequences if he told anyone else about this, and there was an understanding between them as he nodded. Satisfied, she climbed back up to the roof and waited for Talak, ready to finish the last stage of this adventure.

Talak watched without interference as she went about her work. She was recruiting new assets, and that would inevitably come in handy for her in the future. When she thanked him and said she owed him he gave a nod of acknowledgement. Saying "you're welcome" felt too weird given the situation, but it didn't escape him how valuable this could be. Building relationships with someone who was spreading their tendrils across Serenno was a mutually beneficial situation.

They headed out to the roof again and Talak stopped, crouching low on the roof. This had been a whirlwind of a night tonight already and they hadn't even made it to the actual target.

So we're going to use that info to strong arm the Warden into taking over the political spot? he asked. It seemed like a sound plan, but he hadn't seen the information.

And you think it'll be enough to keep him in our pocket? I'd rather not have to come back here and kill him a year from now, he said. It wasn't clear if he was serious or if it was a morbid joke.

He dropped down from the roof a moment later and caught a droid-run mobile platform heading back in the direction of the warden's house.

So you're building up your own little network here on world? A world friendly to... our kind? he asked. It would certainly be welcome to have a place they could operate out of - albeit in secret - that wasn't in the Unknown Region. @Wit

Zarine thought on Talak's questions for a moment or two, going through what they had just learnt from the Meatman. "We find a replacement to replace the one who also happens to be on your list. I am sure the warden himself can help us find someone mutually acceptable. But what we have now, this information, I think it will be enough. He's an old man, and with what we have his last few years could become very very uncomfortable. Besides, once he retires and someone we chose steps in we can deal with him if he ever gets to be a nuisance." He was a means to an end, his influence as Warden would help control this upcoming election. Once they had friends in the corridors or power it would be a lot easier to ensure that they stayed there.

She followed him off the roof and onto the mobile platform, settling down for the short journey and finally catching her breath for a few moments. The night had indeed been more hectic than either of them had expected, and she didn't expect to process it all and come to terms with it till she spent a night or two sleeping on it.

"That is the plan." She said as she leaned against a cargo container. "Maighdin, the woman who trained me, told me stories of how she was always looking over her shoulder, always scared of discovery. I don't want that life, do you?" The question was a rhetorical one, for she didn't really give him an opportunity to speak before continuing.

"I don't know how far I can get, or if something like this is even possible within our lifetime. But if I can lay down the foundations for a future where we can live on a world that isn't as dead and dreary as the old Sith worlds then I will consider it a life well lived." She raised her head and tilted it a little to face him, a question hanging in the air even before she uttered the words.

"And what about you? What do you strive for? You have strength in the Force unlike anything I've seen, a darkness that I can't even dream of matching. What fuels that darkness of yours Talak Rand?"

What she said about making a world of their own where they didn't have to look over their shoulders seemed interesting to him. If the Sith Eternal were really interested in making a difference in the galaxy, people were eventually going to find out. While open war certainly wasn't advantageous and there was benefit to be had in aggression, it was going to be necessary to be able to actually act sooner or later.

I think soon the Sith Eternal is going to have to be less afraid of letting people know we exist. Not an open challenge or even a declaration, but we spend as much time trying not to piss off the Eternal as actually doing our job, he said. The words were a bit dangerous, but unless she directly had the ear of the Eternal it would probably be fine. More than that, he wondered if she would actually agree.

When she talked about the darkness inside of him, he almost winced. He wasn't particularly proud of that fact, but it was also a necessity... or so he'd been told.

I don't like crime and corruption. Exploitation and cruelty, he said. He had a vision of the Sith Eternal that didn't wipe out all of civilizations. It went after the actually toxic members of society and wiped them out. That corruption was what the Sith Eternal should have been targeting.

And I don't have a lot of pity for people that do it, he said. There was a lot of hatred under his surface. An ugly side of him that he tried to keep under lock and key.

Shouldn't we be working to deal with the actual corruption rather than... unchecked attacks? he asked. It was technically in line with the teachings of the Sith Eternal, but... a slightly different take. He didn't know how she'd react or if he really was the only person in the Sith Eternal who thought this way. @Wit

His words were...interesting to say the least. He didn't speak like a zealot driven by blind loyalty, which was what she had actually expected given his origins from the very heart of the Eternal's following. There was no denying that they were very much a cult, and he had emerged from the very heart of it. But to think like he did despite that was a testament to someone who was very much his own person. She could accept that, respect it even.

"Dangerous words," she paused for a moment before thinking on how much she wanted to say, how much she was willing to risk, "even if tinged with what some might consider to be a modicum of truth." All her knowledge regarding the Eternal and the teachings of his followers had been second hand in nature, only after becoming her own master had she started learning bits and pieces of how things really were. The Eternal's summons had been euphoric at the moment, but the more she had thought back on it since then the more she had to wonder what their plan was?

"Tell me this," she finally said, "does anything the Eternal has tasked us with prevent us from doing so? What stops us from fighting corruption, cruelty, crime, exploitation? I ask because," she paused for a moment, hesitant to say what she was about to, to admit to what for her was a weakness, "because I do no know. I have worked in almost complete isolation here, doing the best I could. But if we do as you say, strike against corruption, replace it with something better. Would the Eternal come hunting for our necks? Is it truly that black and white?"

What she didn't say after, what actually made her stop, was the realization that if things were indeed that bad then there was much that she would have to reconsider. What she was doing here, what she was trying to accomplish, was to build a safe haven, somewhere they wouldn't be hunted simply because they were different. Something, she realized, might be more in line with what Talak sought than what the Eternal wanted. And just the possibility of that being true scared her.

Talak found her to be a curious creature. It was as if she didn't even know what the Sith Eternal really were. Maybe she was even more disconnected from the Sith Eternal than he had thought, and it caused him to become all the more fascinated by her. If he ever did decide to make the changes to the Order that he wanted, then he would need likeminded people.

Are they compatible? he asked. If we are ordered to obliterate Coruscant outright, that doesn't seem compatible with a targeted attack? Wiping out everyone will wipe out corruption, sure... but it also kills everyone else. It's like blowing up a whole freighter to kill a single gizka, he said. Wild overkill was what Talak had decided to label it. He wouldn't have been quite so straight forward if he hadn't sensed the conflict within her, and it was clear from how he was talking that this was something he was passionate about.

But there's a mountain of untapped potential in the... you know. If that attention could be diverted into a no-holds-barred war with the Syndicates, he said with a shrug. It certainly seemed like it had a great deal of potential, but he would either have to convince the Eternal or assume the role... nooooo pressure. Of course, this thought he shielded deep within his mental barriers. There was simply too much risk in even thinking it. @Wit

If Talak was surprised by Zarine's disconnect from the current state of the Sith Eternal then what came next would not help her cause any. For a supposed information broker she sure seemed to be out of the loop regarding some really important bits of information about the Eternal.

"My master used to tell me that the Eternal would lead us to a better world." She said, her voice contemplative. "She seemed to believe in it, that someday things would be better. But she was content with waiting, for someone to make things better." She looked up to catch his eyes. "I realized that we couldn't wait for things to get better, that we would have to bring about the change we wanted. That's why I do what I do. And I think the same goes for you. You see us not for what we are, but what we could be."

She was about to say more when she noticed a building receding behind them and realized that it was time to get off. "This is our stop." She jumped off and began making her way towards a side alley, taking a longer but more quiet route towards the warden's house to give them a few more moments of conversation without the threat of being overheard.

"I am a follower of the Sith Eternal, I was taught what they stood for and I still believe in that. But I will not blindly follow an order to obliterate a planet if it ever came down." She stopped for a moment, contemplating her worlds before deciding to stick with them. She knew she was taking a risk, but she could sense Talak's sincerity, and decided to stand on the side of her convictions instead of her fears. "The teachings of the old Sith say that the darkness can corrupt if not controlled properly, I will not let that happen to me. If you mean to tap the power of the shadows in the way they were meant to be then I'll stand by you."

Talak listened as she spoke, and he was honestly surprised. It was a relief to know that there were other people in the Sith Eternal who were interested in the same things he was. He wondered if there were other likeminded people who would rally to this cause. Would this movement start a civil war outright?

He leapt from the speeder as well and they started making their way to the location of their actual mission. He found that this particular conversation may have been more useful than the mission itself.

Those are treasonous words, he said, but his tone wasn't accusatory so much as cautionary. He thought about the potential of starting a revolution within the Sith, and the idea was more appealing all the time.

But yes, he relented. I think it might be time for a change, he said, stopping and turning to look at her. To trust someone he'd just met went against his nature, but building the relationship was worthwhile. He looked at her closely, and he didn't sense any deception in her.

Can I hold you to that when the time comes? he asked. Both of them had just become conspirators, he realized. Things were going to become difficult and complicated if they went forward with this, but a change needed to happen. @Wit

There was power in information, and in taking a risk in speaking the truth Zarine had gained two pieces of information. Both with the potential for tremendous power. First, Talak Rand was no blind follower, but a man with ambition and vision. And second, he was a man she could trust.

"I already told you I owe you one." She glanced to the side to face him for a moment as they walked, a smile on her lips. "So yes, when the time comes you can hold me to that." She knew there were risks down this path she had just agreed to accompany him on, but there was also a thrill that sent her pulse racing. For someone who valued information like her, nothing was more exciting than the unknown. And what could be more unknown than the end of the path they had started on?

For now though, their path was more clear, as they found themselves within sight of the warden's estate. "We'll find the warden in there. We can jump the fence somewhere, and the credentials should open up the doors to the house proper." With that she lead the way to the right, away from the main entrance but along the outer perimeter till a cluster of trees provided the perfect location to jump over the fence.

She jumped over, using the Force to get her across and landing in a crouch before running forward to come to a stop behind some shrubs. Once Talak had joined her she would gesture to the outer walls of the house where a door with a security console next to it would be visible. A servant's entrance probably, and a safer bet to enter than the house. But given her own mistakes in this mission, she waited for Talak to join her to get his feedback on how to proceed.

"That door can get us in, we can wait here to scope out the place for a bit before going in. If we do this right we can sneak in, have a chat with the warden and be out without anyone else being the wiser."

Talak followed along as they reached the Warden's house, but his mind was still elsewhere, which he knew was dangerous. He wondered at the potential there was in building something new and creating a revolution in the Sith Eternal. He wondered if Zarine would be willing to help him recruit others to their cause, and he wondered what this path would lead to. Almost certainly his own death, but perhaps not...

He forced his mind back to the present as they reached the servant's quarters, and he nodded at her suggestion. The sun was down, but there were still likely to be people up finishing up their final acts for the night. If they made their way through the servant's area too soon they might run into people who had yet to go to bed.

He flipped the hood up and waited behind the bush. It took some time, but eventually the final lights seemed to go out, and they had their opportunity. He looked over to Zarine and whispered quietly.

Ready? We'll need to be quiet and quick. Don't let your face be caught on camera or seen, he said. That was the real trick at this point. They didn't want anything linking them back to what was going on.

With that, Talak moved quickly and quietly to the door and slid the access card into the receptor. There was a quiet beep and the door slipped open. The inside of the room was dark and appeared to be some sort of kitchenette area for the servants to make food for themselves. Talak quickly, his boots barely making a sound after years of practice, but cursed every creak of the very old house. @Wit

As they waited for darkness to fall, Zarine thought on the events of the night, wondering what lay ahead. Once it was time to move Zarine nodded in agreement and understanding of Talak's words. She pulled up the hood of her cloak and started after him, careful to make as little noise as she could.

Once inside, she took note of the kitchen that they seemed to be in and quickly pulled out the surveillance droid she had brought along for just this purpose. "This should help us out a little!" She whispered to Talak as she pulled out her datapad and activated the droid's sonar. The droid was programmed to float above and slightly ahead of her, scanning ahead to light up the path ahead of them. Confirming that the corridor outside the kitchen was empty, she gestured towards the door and started moving. "Let's go, the coast is clear."

So began a slow and careful crawl through the manor, stopping every now and then to let a servant or guard walk by, hiding inside supply closets, behind cabinets, and wherever they could. In about fifteen minutes or so they were standing outside what was probably the warden's study, the sonar revealing only one being inside.

"Looks like its just him inside, let's go meet our new friend shall we?"

With that she opened the door and stepped in, face still hidden behind the hood of her cloak as the warden looked up from something on his desk. Surprise followed by annoyance flashed across his face as he spotted them. "Who are you? What's going on here?"

Zarine didn't say anything, instead pulling out her datapad and beaming the Meatman's data to the warden. A been sounded on his datapad as the files were delivered. "You might want to see that Warden."

Talak watched as the little drone did most of their work for them. That was a useful little trick to have up your sleeve, and he took note of it for his own further missions. Things seemed to be going off without a hitch for the two as they crept passed the rooms where people were sleeping, blissfully unaware of what was inside with them.

Talak gave a nod as she mentioned that he was inside alone and they should go saw hi. He wrapped a hand around the hilt of the vibrosword as they made their way inside. Talak smirked at the annoyance that the man exuded at having been interrupted. He really was a pompous one and was more accustomed to dealing with servants than people of greater significance.

He was about to tell Zarine to do unseemly things to herself before he actually looked at what Zarine had. Talak could feel in the Force as the man shifted from annoyed to outraged to concerned.

Where did you get this? he demanded, looking up at Zarine with fury in his eyes.

"Where we got it, how we got it, that's hardly of any importance." She replied with a smile that was barely visible to him from under her hood. "What should concern you is what would happen if this information got out."

The threat had been made, now all they had to do was wait as she caved. Unfortunately the warden seemed to have grown a backbone sometime after she had gauged his susceptibility to threats and blackmail. For what followed next left her shocked.

"What do you want?"

"Nothing too hard, just your support for a candidate of our choice in the coming elections."

Then came the reply that shook things up, throwing another spanner into the night's work. "No, I don't think I will." Something of her confusion must have become visible to him as she smiled and leaned back in his chair before continuing. "I am an old man dear, I have lived my life on my terms. These threats will not make me change that to live as your puppet. I can vanish and live in peace even if all this comes out."

Zarine was stumped for a moment, while also a little impressed. But this wasn't a time to be impressed, they needed him to comply, one way or another. "And how will you live your life out if we end it here and now?" She asked as she gave a sideways glance to Talak and nodded, hoping he got the signal to change to intimidation tactics. "Do you think your guards just let us waltz in? We dealt with them, just as easily as we can deal with you."

Talak knew something about intimidation tactics. This was in large part because all of the threats he would administer were things that he spent a career executing. He could back up each and every one of them.

He moved over and sat on the edge of the bed, and when he spoke it wasn't the harsh and terrifying tone of a killer but that of a seemingly normal person, except for the predatory undertone. He would be able to sense it.

And you're probably thinking you could just leave now. Tell us what we want to hear and then vanish, he said, slowly shaking his hooded head.

Trust me, I will find you. There's no crevice where we won't be able to find you, he said. You may have dealt with politicians, criminals, and even killers before, but we are predators. I would love nothing more than for you to run because I will make your death slower for every day that I have to spend finding you, he said. Fine, so that part was probably a lie, but it sounded scary and Talak was just unnerving enough of a person to make it convincing. He glanced over to Zarine to see if it was sinking in. He really didn't want to actually have to kill this man.

Or, he said after he'd let the stick settle in first. Time for the carrot. You help us, and you have the advantage of an ally who can open doors for you that you wouldn't be able to open otherwise. We got in here to you. These aren't the only closed doors we can open, he said. He wasn't sure he would actually follow through on helping this one, but perhaps if it was in their best interest. @Wit

Zarine smiled as Talk spoke, a sinister smile that would only add to the effect that Talak's words were trying to invoke. She had to admit, if she had been in the warden's place she would have bought it. Hell, she wasn't entirely sure he didn't mean every word he said.

"Choose fast Warden," she said once Talak was done speaking, "patience isn't my friend's cup of tea."

The warden looked from Talak to her and back to Talak, before something within him seemed to break. His body seemed to deflate as he took another look at the information on the datapad. "Very well, you win. Who do you want me to support?"

Zarine continued smiling, still the sinister threat shining through. "We'll let you know when the time comes. You'll know it's us when you see the message. Till then, we will be taking your leave. Have a good night warden."

With that she would start walking back towards the door, stopping at the door and turning back to glance back at him one last time. "Remember, we will be watching."

Once the two of them were outside the door, she would pull out the droid once again and carefully retrace their steps out the manor. Only when they out of the grounds would she let out a sigh of relief and pull back a cloak to reveal an excited and smiling face.

"Is it always that exciting?" She asked Talak, grinning widely. "I feel like I'm on a spice high!"

All things considered, this could have gone much worse as far as Talak was concerned. It took several moments of tense silence before the man finally agreed and the pair were free to go about their business. He was perfectly happy to let Zarine do the talking and just stand there looking intimidating.

They headed out, making their way quietly and quickly past the servants again and out the same way they'd come in. They were into the streets and blending in with the ordinary folks in no time.

She was riding high, and he threw his hood back and looked over with a half smile. This was just another day at the office for him, but part of what he loved about it was the rush.

Pretty much, he said. You get used to it, but it never gets old, he said. But it did come with dangers of its own. Getting shot definitely got old as did plenty of other injuries. Talak was a walking canvas of scars acquired throughout his career.

So where will you go now? he asked. There were many things to do, but everyone had their own ambitions and initiatives. He was no exception. @Wit
