Mission Brief:

Zeltros is well known for its party life, but past the partying lies a corrupt world of politicians and the corporations that back them. In order to expand Sith influence on the planet and gain resources without sounding off any alarms, it is necessary to plant the seeds of influence from a more legitimate standing.

Sith joining this mission should be inclined toward diplomacy, compromise, and manipulation; violence and brutism will not be well served here. Two politicians are currently campaigning for control over the district in which the warehouse lies; find an ally in one of them with promises of political support and influence among the local population (or something just as adequate) and help pave their way to victory in exchange for their monetary and/or vocal support of the new 'charity' non-profit.
The current mission at hand brought memories of Mirial, and along with it their standing amongst fellow Sith. Lord Draugr, dead at the hands of the Jedi, the one Darksider of reputable standing who had positively commented on their usefulness - albeit the Zabraki had spoken much better words than they expected. The Empress and Darth Trelain, dead at the hands of fellow Sith who had broken off to build his own Empire. The Sith Order itself, fallen from grace. And as everything devolved into threats of extinction, Luwalhati had done what they thought best, both out of selfishness and selflessness.

They hid. Because there were battles that could not be fought and won if they were captured and killed for who they are, for who they chose to be. Though they had to admit that they ruminated about joining Altair Din's Empire, if only to acquire the strength and courage they needed to help the Order that cultivated them to rise from the ashes once more. As a servant of the Dark Side of the Force, however, the apprehension and fear that their two-faced deed would be discovered prevented them from joining and swearing fealty upon the Imperial Knights. At the same time, however, they knew that it was an opportunity missed - being the eyes and ears of the Order within the Empire was crucial but also incurred unforeseen risks, and, not one to take such risks (at least for now) Luwalhati had opted to lay low and drop that plan.

For years they lay in wait, until the whispers reached them. The Sith Order was rebuilding, with the Dark Lord having escaped from the clutches of the ISC. Luwalhati had watched, and waited, and watched and waited until one day they found themself on Zeltros.

They had experience dealing with politicians, but it was limited to the past dealings on Mirial under the late Lord Draugr's guidance. But that experience was more than enough for Lu who had taken the time to gather information about the people they sought an alliance with. Harrro Melkis, a human male, was an up and coming politician who dabbled in his fair share of shady dealings with criminals and corrupt law enforcers alike. The man was the only son of a wealthy businessman who owned a chain of five-star resorts located in the Southern Province. Xariah Celestis, on the other hand, was a female Zeltros and the crowd-favorite due to her multiple charity drives and for holding much seniority over Melkis when it came to political career. As benign as charity drives were, however, there hid an insidious agenda covered up by displays of compassion and kind support towards the outcasts and the poor.

It took them time and effort to dig out these horrible secrets because no one were exactly forthcoming with information, and finding the right people with the right information who would willingly part with such knowledge was not exactly numerous. Lu persevered, however, because anything that could be used against the two as leverage should the dealings go awry would be needed. Or at least that was what paranoia and logic dictated the pink-haired Acolyte. Now, it was only a matter of waiting for their fellow Sith to begin their mission.

Celestis was currently hosting a charity ball aimed to solidify her standing not just as a generous politician but more so to earn the people's support of her gaining control of the district where the warehouse - the new focal point of the new Sith base on the planet - was located. Of course Melkis had to add to the drama and attended the ball. Fake smiles and insincere words were thrown around, of course, and they were all to be expected when one found themselves in a den of snakes.

Lu stood by the champagne tower, for now content with playing the role of a wallflower while they waited for their Sith colleagues. The Near-human was clad in a simple but tasteful attire to better blend in among the high-profile attendees. They carried no overt weapons, save for six throwing knives they have tactfully hidden within the folds of their clothing, all within easy reach and access. Perched on one shoulder was a spectacled OW1-series Oranimal, the droid a loyal companion but also acting to record the whole proceedings.

While Chirikyât normally commanded a natural aura of fear and respect, today she was dressed rather plainly and fitting for the occasion. The plain, yet elegant dress clung to the slender frame and blue contact lenses hid her natural golden orbs. She looked like a relatively casual attendee, the only thing that made her stick out where the ashen hairs and the pale skin, but she could simply pass as a light skinned humanoid.

It was essential for this mission that neither of them raised any early suspicions. Their plan was to get engaged with both sides to figure out which one would serve them better and as the shadow organization they planned to build up secretly was not supposed to be related to the Sith Order, keeping a low profile was of utter importance, so she carefully kept masking her presence within the Force.

She had neither worked with the acolyte, nor with the Champion who were supoosed to accompany her before, but she was dearly hoping neither of them would mess it up. If they couldn't stick to the subtleties required, she might do whatever she deemed necessary to ensure the success or their mission.

Her two companions were still not difficult to make out as she knew their faces and they had apperently also found one another. She had already been there for quite a while and had used the time to mingle- something that went her very nature, yet work has to be done. She approached the other Sith gracefully, however nonchalantly held a flute of champagne in her hand as she joined them. "Patience. Those people aren't going anywhere", she calmly replied, her voice barely more than an icy whisper as she locked eyes with Maros.

Had Luwalhati been leaning more towards the arrogant nature of the followers of the Dark Side of the Force, they would have already scoffed at the question and comment sent their way. More so on the fact that their Sith counterparts understood the assignment and have forgone both pomp and swagger to earn the undue kind of attention they certainly did not need.

The Acolyte was one for patience, mirroring Champion Chirikyât's words. Calm and gentle, so unlike the stereotypical Darksider, was the pink-haired Near-human's nature. Beneath that character poised a snake ready to strike, however. Golden gaze swept across their colleagues, not an ounce of judgment nor contempt evident in their eyes. Tipping their head in respectful acknowledgement of[ their superiors, Lu's vision locked on Melkis who was surrounded by sycophants across the room, his uproarious laughter earning the barely concealed irritated glare of the party's host. Celestis glided across the ballroom, now purposefully ignoring her rival as she greeted her guests.

"I know we're only supposed to be finding one ally between Melkis and Celestis," spoke Lu quietly, their words only clearly meant for the Champions to hear. The Acolyte turned to look at the pair, the corners of their lips tilting ever so slightly in a faint smile. "Between the two of them, Celestis is currently on the lead when it comes to power and standing on the political scene. But she comes only second to Melkis in wealth and related assets. Both would prove useful if we are successful in bringing them under Sith influence."

And there it was, that greed, that ambition. But Lu would only push forth with their plan if they received both Champions' support. For tonight, they would only need to persuade one of the two politicians. The other would have to wait - though it would be more preferable if both sides were eventually drawn under Sith control.

Celestis' wandering and mingling with the guests soon landed her within the three undercover Sith's vicinity. The Zeltron's piercing gaze was caught by Chirikyât's gown and soon enough, the former gravitated towards the three.

"Good evening," she greeted the gathered Sith, her voice low and smooth. She extended a hand towards Maros, seemingly expecting a proper greeting from a proper gentleman. "New faces here, I suppose? I do not recognize any of you."

They were interrupted rather quickly before either of them could outline more specifications in terms of their plan. Chirikyât sensed the approaching, admittedly elegant Zeltron Lady who gracefully made her way over until she expected to be greeted like the spoiled politician she was.

The acolyte had formely summarized what she had already gathered and Ciri agreed. They were both valuable assets, but while Celestis currently led and wielded more power, her political standing would probably make her the easier win, yet Melkis had the assets the Sith actually needed.

Was there a way to gain the assets of the one and use the standing of the second? Probably not, given they were rivals, but it seemed like they still had to figure out who'd be more useful in the end. They could convince both. Yet they didn't have that much time. Chirikyât have Celestis a curt, however feigned warm smile. The other champion could handle her as he was the one to start some smooth talking first anyway. She only greeter the other woman with an airy, "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance" before she let Maros have this stage.

"Oh, please, the pleasure is mine," Celestis replied to Chirikyât before her gaze - filled with faux warmth - shifted over to 'Maskar' as he offered the Zeltron woman a greeting fitting for her station. "Well, here's to spending that time bearing fruitful outcomes."

Her gaze lingered on the man for a moment that stretched on for far too long, interest now clear in her eyes. No doubt the woman was already thinking of ways to make sure that he would hold true to his word. Of course that interest spoke of greed carefully hidden by too warm smiles and saccharine tones meant to lure unsuspecting and prospective investors within her clutches. Celestis withdrew her hand, now turning to appraise Maros' fellow Sith. Her gaze turned appreciative as it linngered upon Chirikyât.

Returning Maros' toast after procuring a flute of champagne of her own, the politician asked the female champion incognito, "And what about you, miss? May I ask who you are, and your... interests?"

She could have just said business, thought Luwalhati as they mustered a small smile for Celestis as she spared the Acolyte the briefest of glances. "And you, little one? Too young to be here, aren't you?"

They did not need to even consider if it was a veiled insult or a genuine misconception. Lu had always looked younger than her age, after all. As such, they really did not take offense, whatever the woman truly meant. And besides, it would not be beneficial for their mission if the pink-haired Acolyte barked back with a backhanded insult of their own. "You flatter me, mademoiselle. I'm Hanan, a humble architect from Brentaal."

"Brentaal?" Celestis scoffed, then with a look akin to pity, placed a delicate hand on one of Lu's narrow shoulders. "Love the planet, hate the Governor. I'd move away if I were you, darling... might I suggest Zeltros?" She suggested playfully with a laugh, turning to Maros and Chirikyât. "Anyway... is there something I can do to make your stay comfortable? Talk business, perhaps? I'm here to create more jobs for my people, see..."

Chirikyât hated playing roles and she hated having such conversations, but the Sith also knew that sometimes you had to do such things to reach your goal. "I'm Felianthis...a company heiress and enthusiastic investor", she lied skillfully, her voice light and airy and yet a sweet promise.

This Zeltros lady talked too much, even if she was easy on the eyes, but Ciri would soon develop a preference into the direction of her political opponent if she was to continue like this. For now though, she obviously kept up the charade. "Talking business...how very enticing", she purred, her red lips changing into another warm smile.

It was known that the lady was campaigning, so what she needed was fairly obvious. "Business opportunities are always good...I take it the campaigns are running well?", she asked for now, feigning genuine curiosity. Maybe the other would immediately spring onto the train and elaborate on her situation. They were here to gain a legitimate foundation for their charity organization, so they had to stick to rather unconventional methods.

A merchant, an heiress, and an architect. Celestis' gaze became calculating, as if assessing which among the three would prove far more useful not just for her campaign but more so her plans for the district she was coveting. If only her competition didn't come in the form of that young, arrogant Melkis brat. When 'Maskar' made mention of contributions and a bank, however, the irritation that briefly reflected in her eyes vanished almost instantly. It was further pushed forth by 'Felianthis'. Already the Zeltron's mood lifted once again - all for the more insidious reasons, of course. A merchant, an heiress, and an architect... people who were surely easy enough to fool into making donations for her 'charity causes'.

Lu, on the other hand, simply stared politely at the politician. They did not dare react to Maros' mention of a bank in Kwenn, of all places. Surely, Celestis knew that no such bank exists on that planet...?

The Zeltron's delighted laugh eased their apprehension.

"That certainly sounds interesting, Mister Kython!" she commented. Her dark gaze flicked over Felianthis when the latter inquired about the campaigns. "It is going quite well, indeed, regardless of... obstacles impeding my way."

"And why is that, if you don't mind me asking?" asked Lu in a tone that belied their knowledge about her rivalry with Harrro.

Celestis laughed, loud and grating to the Acolyte's ears. "Oh, I don't mind at all, my dear! Sadly, it's just how politics goes. People with questionable dealings think they can simply run for a position that requires them to be a public servant," a clear dig against her political rival, obviously (Lu wanted so bad to roll their eyes at the flair for the dramatics), "but it's clear they only want to abuse that power and not help the people, at all!"

You're one to talk, Lu thought to themself. This woman's hypocrisy was sickening.

"There is a district not far from here that I want placed under my jurisdiction," Celestis continued. She sighed dramatically, before glancing towards Melkis' direction with a dissatisfied smirk. "But the truth is, I'm not the only one who wants to control... hmm, control is too harsh a word... but you get my gist, I presume? A rival of mine, Harrro Melkis, wants to claim the district for his own - most likely to establish it as a base of operations for his criminal dealings." The woman spoke with so much disdain that Lu would have believed her if it weren't for the fact that the Acolyte had managed to dig dirt about her as well.

Trap set and sprung. The greedy, cunning Zeltros was immediately in on it and her curiosity and interest just grew as they continued further. She couldn't even mask it before she decided to disclose that she was actually intrigued, but the more she blabbed the more sickening did Chirikyât find the woman.

She was a fool, but thus influenceable and that was all they needed. Her rival was naught but criminal scum from the sounds of it, and as criminal traffic could only draw more attention, Ciri made a mental note about how the obnoxious Zeltros was perhaps still the better choice for their endeavor.

"I'd agree with my associate here...you're a very interesting lady, I've got to admit that. But perhaps it might not be the right time and place to talk actual business. Perhaps we can all come together later? Judging from we've gathered so far, it seems to be like we could work on some mutually beneficial agreement...". She gave the Zeltros a charming smile, her voice laced with honey sweetness- something very uncomment for the Sith, but she knew when to play her cards right.
