"Tail-Head?" Pala took some offense to that term, but she was too polite, too desperate, and too bad at fighting to really make Kuro eat those words. A slight dock in pay would just have to suffice.

"I've got some a few demolition charges, but they're shaped, civilian grade models. You'd basically have to stick them to the Lylek to get them to work." But maybe they didn't have to stick the bombs to the creature to stop it. "But...maybe we could seal the Lylek off in some side chamber, or drop a roof on it, or something! That could work right?"

Pala wasn't looking for a response, she was just being polite as she took PM and scrambled back into her beater of a ship to retrieve the charges in question.

In hindsight Kuro could’ve held his tongue especially when it came to those who hire him. Yet at the moment he didn’t care considering after nearly being slaughtered by something Pala claimed wasn’t around earlier. Gritting his teeth while he continued the treatment Kuro heard the Twi’lek’s reply to his question

The freelancer snorted at the idea of sticking the charges on the Lylek itself. Is she trying get us both killed? Fortunately Pala quickly proposed an alternative use for the explosives. Kuro found himself nodding in acknowledgment but the tail head alien already was already heading back to her ship. Suspicious, that she may try to abandon him here despite her claims the hired blaster with some grunting got to his feet and followed her.

“Need a hand with that stuff?” He asked, more out of necessity than any attempt at politeness.

"Actually, that would be great, thanks!" As Kuro entered the ship, Pala shoved a satchel of demolition charges into his arms before rushing past him with a bag of her own. Now that she had the chance to potentially blow up a Lylek, Pala was almost excited that the massive beast was squatting in the ruins. All she had to do was find a place to leave the charges where they would kill or trap the Lylek without tearing down the entire building.

"PM," She turned to her droid in Twi'leki. "Poke inside and see if you can locate the Lylek."

The droid chirped in protest.

"That's uncalled for!" She snapped back.
"Look, you're the only one here with a bank of scanners. We need you to find out where that thing is and where it might have come from."

Kuro Sawa nearly stumbled when Pala shoved a satchel of explosives to him. With a grunt he murmured under his breath. “No reward is worth this.” At least they had a means to eliminate their unwanted host back inside the base Kuro silently admitted.

He followed after the Twi’lek who subsequently told her droid to go scout ahead. Only to be met with protests. The outlaw rolled his eyes in annoyance. A restraining bolt would be handy right about now. He thought to himself as Pala argued back at PM.

After a few minutes of bickering and bartering in Twi'leki, Pala finally managed to convince PM to enter the base, on the grounds that she would finally get him that sixth servo-arm he'd been looking for. So, while Pala grumbled about the stubbornness of her companion the droid hovered through the narrow opening to locate their monster. The fact that he wasn't dashed to pieces against the wall the second he entered the building was a good sign.

PM hovered further into the ruins, moving out of sight of the would-be scavengers and into the main chamber, where he found the mangled, sparking remains of the KX droid lying in a heap on the floor. The mechanical equivalent of finding a person splattered across the floor. But he managed to suppress a squeal of alarm when his sensors finally caught where the Lylek was, lying on the floor upstairs unmoving. They might just have a chance to catch it by surprise. PM relayed this information to Pala using his internal comms, trying to be as quiet as possible.

--------------------

"Hmmm,"
Pala mulled over PM's intel. "Alright, sounds good."

"The Lylek is on the second floor in the observation post. If we're really sneaky maybe we can seal that side of the building off and blow the floor out from under the Lylek." She turned to Kuro with an optimistic grin.

It took Kuro every fiber of his self restraint not to explode in anger while Pala and the droid argued for the next few minutes. Scowling with utter annoyance he was about to speak up when PM finally agreed to do what the Twi’lek asked.

Negotiating with droids, ridiculous.

After the floating mechanical flew back in Kuro turned to Pala and sarcastically noted. “Maybe ya should’ve offered the little machine a free oil bath while you were at it.”

Fortunately PM returned swifty and informed Pala who translated. Slinging the satchel over his shoulder Kuro Sawa nodded at the Twi’lek’s grin. “Let’s started then. I want to pay back that ugly bastard anyway.”

Without delay the freelancer crawled the small opening as before but this time trying to quiet about it as much as possible.

Maybe I should dip you in hot oil you insensitive tool.

Pala didn't say that out loud, but she thought it very intensely as Kuro insulted her partner. Son? Brother? Her relationship with PM wasn't super well defined, but she loved the little scrapling like a member of her own family. So hearing this little grease ball talking kriff about PM earned him another dock in pay. Besides, he probably didn't know what half of this stuff cost anyway, and you should never insult the one that counts the credits. Or their droids.

Once Kuro was through, Pala followed after him, meeting PM halfway down the hall as he backtracked ever so slowly to avoid alerting the Lylek. PM led the duo back through the hall to the room with the destroyed door, which they could now see had been the mess hall. The Lylek was lying in the in the observation room above them, while it became clear how the beast had gotten in when they saw a gaping hole in the wall leading into a dark cave system that ran down too far to see the bottom.

Whatever his opinion about droids Kuro noted that PM actually did it’s job. What a miracle. Deciding to keep that thought to himself the hired blaster instead hand signaled to Pala as they stood in the mess hall to begin.

Making his next steps to their next destination were quiet as possible Kuro ready some charges he had. Enjoy your sleep beast. It won’t last long. This job had gotten really personal for Kuro to say least.

PM took a structural scan of the room they were in to determine the best points to lay charges and marked them each with a laser point so the two could get to work. Four charges on the floor above them, two on the doorway, one on the ramp, and four on the cave entrance. That was more charges than Pala hoped to spend on this caper, but they still had a few pucks left to blow the sealed entrance, and killing this damned Lylek would be more than worth the expense.

Unfortunately for the trio, with them all distracted by laying demolition charges, it was unlikely anybody would notice the Lylek waking from its brief nap and moving towards the ramp, having caught the scent of more intruders beneath it...

Moving to the cave entrance first Kuro began to place one charge on the right side followed by another. Subsequently the gunslinger repeated the process on the opposite end. Few more to go. He concluded, exiting the creature made cavern.

Letting Pala handle the doorway and floor above them Kuro approached the ramp, bringing out one more charge. Little did he realize that their target was heading in that direction as well.
