Emryc maintained a poker face as she stopped him from drinking more of his water. What followed was a rapid back and forth as she practically had a dialogue with herself. The half Sephi quietly listened, silently wondering if he could take another sip of water or if he had to wait till she was done. He gave up and just set the glass down.

“Weird?” He repeated, eyebrows furrowing slightly, “I have always been the same. You on the other hand want to profess your love to me one second and try to kill me the next,” Emryc slowly rose to stand, having to call upon the Force to aid him through his pain. He hobbled over with his leg dragging until he eased down into the couch. He had to wonder why he didn’t simply use this for their earlier activities. Now he had rug burn to add to his list of pains.

He replayed the visit through his head, wondering her reasonings for coming here. She could have come here with pity. She could have come here to mock him. She had done none of that. There was genuine concern and thought put into this visit. Emryc didn’t know how to process any of it, and he sat in silence as his thoughts drifted elsewhere.

“I’ll take you dancing again some time after I get better,” Emryc said abruptly while vacantly staring off at nothing.

He seemed perplexed that she would use such a word to describe him and she watched the subtle movements in his eyebrows as he tried to find something that seemed more odd than him currently. Of course he would assume he had always been who he always has, but for Tiamat, there was still much of him she had never seen and she tried to understand what it meant to her. To see his nuances that gave him, well, more character certainly did catch her by surprise.

However, with how he described her, maybe it was the same. There were parts of her she did not dare show anyone else, parts of her that she did not know if they still existed because there was no one out there she could trust until recently. Even so, there was still hesitation, and even deeper, a fear that made her question and doubt just to secure her own protection from the pain and hurt. She didn't respond to his observation, and instead remained quiet in her thoughts.

She watched Emryc hobble over to the sofa, trying to think why they didn't move there sooner as she rubbed the tops of her knees, carefully to avoid too much pressure from the stinging sensation that still remained. When he sat down she walked over, but instead of sitting on the couch next to him, she sat in front of him on the floor, her head laying in his lap. He spoke, offering to take her dancing when he was better and Tiamat glanced up, watching him gaze into the surely nothingness before setting her head back down. "I would like that a lot." she smiled, falling in silence for a moment as thoughts connected with each other or converging into ideas that seemed more complete.

"I think I like this side of you too, its a little weird still, but I think I can get used to it."

Emryc was surprised when he felt her settle down on the floor with her head on his lap. He didn’t react at first, his gaze vacantly off at nothing as usual. After a while, his uninjured hand moved to rest against her hair, his fingers gently curling into it. There was something oddly comforting about the relaxed ambiance, the weight of her against him and the soothing lull of familiarity.

He said nothing at her words for a moment, contemplating them. Emryc tilted his head back to rest against the top of the couch. His eyes were closed as he rested them as well. His fingers still idly ran through her hair, nails lightly grazing against scalp like he enjoyed for himself.

“It has always been here,” Emryc stated flatly, “From the beginning. You only had to bother to look.”

Trust was hard, even more was the trust that one was being genuine and it had taken Tiamat years to see it in just one person. Too many times had those who she was supposed to trust turned away or had violated her sense of her entire being just by a single word or action. However, it was not to say that sensation of anticipation for the betrayal was not there as she relaxed against Emryc in silence; it may be always there, ready to tell her how right it is when it would finally come. For now though, she would take this moment all while Emryc ran his fingers through her hair, becoming ever more relaxed as her shoulders dropped as she would feel his nails run gently rhythmically along her scalp.

He was correct in that it has always been there, but she refused to see it as legitimate, creating her own sense of what was right...for her and making all else follow. For the time, it was the only way she knew it would keep her protected. However, the sense of letting some of that go made things uneasy for Tiamat, but there was also the fact no matter how many times she had fallen down, he still stood, waiting for her to get back up. Or in some cases, made her get up and carry her all the way to hillbilly village. The thought still brought a smile to the woman.

Tiamat remained in stillness and silence, finding him combing his fingers through her hair oddly hypnotizing, "If you keep it up, you may just keep me under this spell forever." she hummed, feeling it would be absolutely difficult to even lift a limb currently.
