DESCRIPTION​

The PBR is marketed by Reshalva as a sidearm for those less concerned with who shoots first, and more concerned with making sure they're the one who shoots last. The particle beam design of the PBR is intended to take advantage of the simple fact that a pistol is never going to pierce heavy body armor. It doesn't matter how much you fiddle with it, there's always going to be an upper limit to how much penetration power you can put into a small package, and still mass manufacture it. So Reshalva went the other direction, choosing a particle beam base to give the pistol as much sheer stopping power as possible. Like all particle beam weapons, that fired by the PBR is inherently unstable, and thus explodes on contact. This is enough to often stun a target that isn't killed, as having something explode across your chest isn't very well the kind of thing a person can just ignore.

Compared to a regular blaster, there's more of a recoil (as in there is actual recoil) from the PBR, making it harder for novice shooter to get the grasp of. But the result is firing pale yellow bolts that are difficult even for lightsaber wielders to block, and not have to worry about them being bounced back at you under any circumstance.
