JEDI SEER RECENT HISTORY

Like the Force, which is never static, the Jedi Order must go through constant change and reshaping as it tries to find its footing as the galaxy changes. Over countless years, the Jedi have witnessed the rise of fascism, felt the oppression of Tyrants, and have aided in the eventual freedom of the galaxy. All of these events come and go, but for the living they represent the greatest moments in their life. These are merely mechanisms of a larger aspect and nature of the force, a representation of the pull between the many opposites that exist in the natural state.

While many in the Jedi Order change to meet the needs of the Order and their people, there are some who dedicate themselves to the isolated life of studying the force. These Jedi travel through the far fringes of the galaxy in search of echoes and mysteries, as well as uncovering the lost secrets of the Jedi Order. These Jedi are known as Jedi Seers.

STRUCTURE

Jedi Seers represent a philosophical shift from their more pro-active brothers and sisters who partake in the galaxy. Many Jedi that walk this path tend to isolate themselves from involvement on a greater level. Jedi Seers often find themselves in positions like Jedi Librarians, Healers, Archeologists, Gardeners, Oracles, and Monks.

A Seers' primary goal is to study and find enlightenment within the lightside of the force, in attempt to eventually reach a complete oneness with the natural state. While loyal to the Jedi Order itself, they can be seen as somewhat aloof or withdrawn from many of the institutions practices.

There is no special ranking structure, nor do Seers report to a specific Jedi. Instead, they follow the traditional structure and report to the Council and the Grand Master. This lifestyle is mainly made up of Jedi Knights and Masters, and often seen as boring to many of the Jedi younglings and padawans.

OOC NOTE

Any Jedi may choose to walk the path of the Seer, if they are willing to dedicate themselves to a life of studying and guiding others in the force.

A Seer's Focus:
  • The advancement and study of the Lightside of the Force and its abilties.
  • Teaching and guiding Jedi when they are struggling.
  • To propose and oversee tasks that help students overcome their personal struggles.
  • Healing and Jedi Restoration Projects.
  • The discovery and preservation of ancient Jedi artifacts and locations.
  • To uncover and contemplate force visions and prophecies.
  • To eventually become one with the Force.

Jedi Arbitration Corps (Justicars)

History

The Jedi’s focus on esotericism and lineage from the master-student relationship has always been a vulnerability of the Order. As the war rages on, training alone is not enough alleviate the physical and psychological scars borne on the Jedi. And even more damningly, in some instances, Jedi have willingly abandoned the code to pursue their own ends. Historically, the Jedi Shadows investigated dark-side corruption within the Order. As they remain a secret to all but the Grandmaster and the members of the Shadows, a more public face for their internal peacekeeping operations was needed. Following numerous, flagrant instances of Jedi either willfully disobeying their code or breaking galactic law towards personal ends, the New Jedi Order realized that they needed a centralized structure to measure each Jedi’s progress and to rehabilitate, counsel, or punish Jedi who show signs of corruption.

Enter the Jedi Arbitration Corps. Knights and Masters of all ages, concerned with the direction of the overall Jedi Order, banded together to create an internal supervisory structure for the whole of the Order. The Justicars of the Arbitration Corps enforce the Order’s rules and adhere to the Code closely. While they are not inflexible, and operate often as counselors, teachers of rote, or healers to the various Jedi of the Order, they treat their role seriously. They are charged with upholding the values of the Jedi Order, investigating corruption into their Order, and ultimately, deciding on appropriate punishments for Jedi who violate the law.

Structure

Members of the Arbitration Corps are known as Justicars. They pursue a number of different specialities, from counseling and therapy to investigation, pursuit, and arrest of suspected criminal Jedi. As they are a public-facing organization, they solicit the help of wider galaxy to pursue dangerous rogue Jedi, and issue statements and writ on behalf of the Order. They are thus companions of the Diplomatic Core, and work collaboratively to create better policies and philosophies for the Jedi Order to adopt. The Justicars are overseen by the Lead Justicar, a master-level Jedi.

The Justicars to not have free reign to arrest any Jedi they see fit. Rather, they investigate leads and complaints submitted by fellow Jedi, outside law enforcement, or verifiable anonymous tips. They are expected to exemplify the highest levels of restraint and obedience to the Jedi Code.

This organization is ultimately overseen by the Jedi’s Grandmaster, who is among the final arbiters for all Jedi in the Order.

OOC NOTE

Any knight-Level Jedi may join the Arbitration Corps as a Justicar, and Padawans may study under Justicars.

JEDI DIPLOMATIC CORE RECENT HISTORY

A war is won on more than one front. Various public missteps made clear the Jedi Order needed to take a more aggressive approach in public relations. For centuries, many Jedi styled themselves diplomats who were well versed in political discourse. Despite these claims, members of the Order have not always acquitted themselves well in the public sphere. There Order called themselves diplomats but never marshalled those skills.

After an unforced Senatorial blunder, the Council convened to determine appropriate steps. Thus, was born the Jedi Diplomatic Core. The public relations arm of the Jedi Order. The Diplomatic Core was tasked with repairing the reputation of the Jedi Order through various means. Members of the Core are meant to use media, political influence, and other means to safeguard freedom in the galaxy. They serve as ambassadors to allied and neutral worlds alike to foster goodwill and tackle whatever may come.

STRUCTURE

After the disaster of Senator Starros performance on Felucia, it became apparent to the Council that the war could be lost not only on the battlefield but in government seats of varying worlds. The Diplomatic Core aims to fight the war a different way. Member of the Core are tasked with using their tools to bind the alliances of the Order together and garner additional allies. All while ensures the reputation of the Jedi remains intact.

The Chief Diplomat coordinates these efforts from the Jedi Temple on New Alderaan. They report directly to the Council who lays general mandates for the Diplomats to follow. Any rank Diplomat is provided the resources they need to accomplish their state goal as long as the request is within reason. This could be medical supplies, healers, or any number of necessary tools.

OOC NOTE

Any Jedi may join the Diplomatic Core and choose to serve as official ambassadors to various worlds.

JEDI SHADOW RECENT HISTORY

The Jedi Shadows have a long and sordid history. At various times throughout the Order's life they have been viewed as heroes fighting to keep the Dark Side at bay or villains who have lost their way to remain one step from that very Darkness. There is only one certainty where the Shadows are concerned. When the Sith rise to power, the Shadows inevitably reform.

Councilor @Hannibal Grayza began training a small group after several crushing defeats at the hands of the Sith. Grandmaster @Alexandria Voran has continued the work Hannibal began. While the Grandmaster remains steadfastly committed to finding peace, it is impossible to deny the realities of war. @Crix Aran and Alex reopened the Praxeum on Ifrane as the hidden operational base of the Shadows. She then moved to appoint exiled Master @Drow Venn as First Shadow with the directive to expand what Hannibal had begun. The instructions were clear. The Shadows would report exclusively to her and operate outside the ordinary bounds of the Jedi Order.

STRUCTURE

The First Shadow reports directly to the Grandmaster and is unknown to rest of the Jedi. Shadows launch operations from the hidden Praxeum on Ifrane. It is the sole providence of the Shadows to safe guard and maintain the Ifrane Praxeum.

Jedi Shadows may come in all shapes and sizes but a few truths are always evident. They are fiercely loyal to the Order and willing to go to extraordinary lengths to protect the Light. The Shadows are mainly comprised of Knights but Masters have joined as the organization grows.

Most importantly, the individual identity of Jedi Shadows is a closely guarded secret known only to other Shadows and the Grandmaster. They report directly to the Grandmaster who shields the Council and greater Order from the darker deeds that need doing.

OOC NOTE

The Praxeum on Ifrane is known only to the Jedi Council, @Crix Aran (who discovered the Praxeum), and members of the Jedi Shadows. Unless reveled, the identity of individual the Jedi Shadows is unknown. This includes @Drow Venn who was publicly exiled from the Jedi Order. New characters may start as a Shadow without role playing recruitment with FL or AFL approval.
