The camera pans away from the Rago News Network (RNN) logo to show a tired human anchor sitting alone at a desk. "People of Rago, today I bring you all really bad news." the anchor swiped right on this datapad. Regular watchers of the Rago News Network would probably deduce, correctly, that the poor man was kicked out of bed and rushed through the studio to give this special report just after midnight. "Presidential hopeful Rootan Smidt has been assassinated tonight," another pause as the screen behind him switched from the logo to one of Rootan Smidt's most recent pictures as he was heading into the hotel where his life would end a few hours later. The fundraising dinner had been cancelled for obvious reason: a dead man doesn't need funds to run for president, for he can't.. run, that is.
"The Rago Security Service had responded to a shootout at the Hyprax Hotel and spotted the perpetrators escaping in a shuttle." the screen behind him now showed amateur footage of the shuttle speeding away from the scene of the crime, "which was found abandoned only an hour ago. Our sources claim that that-" his right hand suddenly went to his ear, "-hold on, we're now switching to a statement of the sitting president."
The current president of Rago walked up to a small podium and placed his datapad down on the small lectern. "My dear citizens of Rago. Tonight my opponent in the presidential election was assassinated in Hyprax Hotel by a brutal assassin droid. I am sorry to have to reveal that the droid unfortunately escaped, but our investigators have found significant clues as to who is behind this horrible crime."
The screen behind the president showed a grainy still of Theo Magna appearing to give the assassin droid the assignment. It was a still, simply because the entire video was not fit to show to the audience.
"This man gave not only the order for the assassination of Rootan Smidt and his security detail, but is also directly responsible for the murders of original passengers of the shuttle. Their bodies, including that of a child, had fallen from the sky thirty minutes earlier in an at the time explainable event."
