Some other sources that talked to the father of the kid had him claiming that the shooting was somehow not religiously motivated.

Some of these Americanized Muslims are in denial about what ISIS is doing over social media. They've gotten seriously dangerous in that regard.

The timing of this event couldn't be more worse, as much as America needs to stop getting into huge conflicts since we are not financially ready to take. It is these kind of events that bring the worse out of us and make us do stuff that ultimately ends in more death. This saddens me to the point I can barely really talk about it though it will be talked for a good long while. So many issues will now be raised and questions on security, gun rights, terrorism and I just fear it will only increase the tension with native Muslims in america are having to deal with already.

I only hope this does not lead to more fear mongering but with the political landscape as it is, I doubt my hopes will become reality. I can only pray and hope that people don't use this as an excuse to ban Muslims from entering the country as this will only lead to more violence. Sadly though I am sure this is only going to make things worse and force people to pick sides. Rather than coming together and trying to overcome this hate though compassion.

I heard about this on the radio while driving to school.

Rae I thought you lived in Jacksonville, not Orlando.

Also ISIS must get nuked.
That's a dumb idea. You will radicalize more people, and kill thousands of civilians, something that isn't justified even if you are nuking ISIS.

Either way, this is sad that it has occurred. Condolences to the families.

I've already been corrected on that, thanks.

This is inevitably the year of my life where I'm starting to realize that our world is just a never ending cycle of war and hatred. This is just too much.. too much.

I think all religion has it's good and bad followers. It would be a generalization to say that all religion drives people to murder. It's the people and what they do with it we have to watch out for.

Two things.

1: I utterly disagree with what they did, it is horrendous and vaguely surprising how many people would be so eager to kill. Of course in consideration of how easily people are used in large numbers, I guess a massacre would actually be less surprising than an individual shooting.

2: More a topic of the title actually, by US history, this is far from the biggest massacre. The biggest massacres would have been the enormous amounts of native americans killed when people decided to move in and take over. I'm not saying this is nothing, I'm saying it is not the biggest massacre in US history.
