BIOGRAPHY
The House of Indrani has traced its lineage back to the very founding of the Hapes Consortium. Generation upon generation of matriarchs came and went, ensuring both the family's legacy and its reputation amongst their homeworld's high society. These ancestral machinations elevated the Indrani family to its most noble heights, placing them within the very court of Hapan royalty. There, they periodically served as hands to the Queen Mother and were remarkably dutiful in their fidelity.
Then came the troubling times.
A new Queen Mother came into power and (fearing reprisal), the family's Matriarch withdrew their kin from the upper echelons of Hapes society. They became pariahs, little more than nobles in exile. Orianna, a lesser daughter, was mortified. She ranted and raved, humiliated by the sheer cowardice of her family but there was no swaying her Matriarch. The Indrani family left the Hapes Cluster, their auspicious hopes and dreams fading much from memory.
Unwilling to succumb to such obscurity, Orianna sought out more favorable prospects; she would not sit idle as the rest of her family made a mockery of their once-great name. Acting against the wishes of her kin, the young daughter of Hapes used surviving connections to form an arrangement of her own; she would align herself with the Order and become a Jedi. Admittedly, she had done this out of spite but with her family's bitter failure fresh in her mind, Orianna vowed to forge a new legacy, one of glory and grandeur.
PERSONALITY
Vain, prideful, and somewhat callous, Orianna does little to invoke the image of a traditional Jedi. Given her upbringing, the daughter of Hapes lives under the belief that males are the lesser sex, and non-humanoids are beneath even acknowledging. She is often quick to judge others and is unbothered when it comes to sharing these less than flattering thoughts. Understandably, this mindset has brought the Hapan into numerous conflicts with her fellow Jedi but Orianna remains unapologetic; it is for this reason that she often operates independently on solitary missions and assignments. Despite her otherwise angelic features, the noble-in-exile boasts a rather vindictive temperament; so notorious is she, her contemporaries style her as 'The Harpy'.
Though much of Orianna is unadmirable, she is (to an extent) capable of some subtlety. She is no stranger to courtly protocol and is comfortable using her influence to gain an advantage. This can also apply to her beauty and ancestral status. Few in number, Orianna does have some redeeming features; having now adopted the Order's reputation for her own, the young Knight is fiercely proud of her allegiance and will defend its honor most vehemently. A slight against the Jedi is considered a slight against her.
Like many of her people, there is a deep (some would say neurotically so) love of beauty. With this comes an abhorrence for the unsightliness of blemishes, whether they be scars and/or deformity. It is for this reason that Orianna holds the Dark Side in such distaste, alongside its meddling Sith; she loathes the darkness and anything that may be associated with it, finding it shameful and ugly. Some suspect that Orianna may be a partial follower of Vianism, and thus worships the Force as a goddess; this is, however, not something she is ready to openly discuss with those she considers her inferiors.
APPEARANCE
Typical of any Hapan daughter, Orianna is beautiful with statuesque features with her most distinctive features being her shimmering, jewel-like eyes. Conscious of keeping up appearance, the Indrani heiress refuses to wear the modest garb of the Jedi Order; she prefers dressing in more noble attire, which includes (but is not limited to) lavish jewels and fine furs. The very tips of her fingernails are usually painted gold as it is one of her most favored colors. Her wardrobe is rather extensive and she has clothes for nearly any occasion. For practical measures, the Lady Jedi often has her long, lustrous hair styled in a plait or braid.
