[FANCYBOX2]SHADOWS OF THE ODYSSEY VEIL

The Beyonders might be more fantasy than fact, but the threat of them is very real, all the same. Within the Odyssey Veil, a segment of the Beyonders have attacked Zeta, a planet within the Wastes. Ordinarily, the massive Eschaton would have spearheaded such an attack, but for reasons unknown, these Beyonders appear to be operating without its support.

It is believed that the Beyonders here are utilizing Zeta as a staging point for a large-scale invasion of the Wild Space Wastes. Either by coincidence or the will of the Light, a single FTL burst transmission has reached the Matukai, and honor-bound to help those unable to help themselves, we must turn to the Odyssey Veil of the Wastes, lest more worlds vanish to the Beyonders.

OBJECTIVES

PRIMARY— Find and rescue the colonists of Zeta from the Beyonders
SECONDARY— Defeat the Beyonder (60 NPCs) forces entrenched on Zeta
OPTIONAL— Wipe out all (120 NPCs) Beyonders on Zeta

ASSIGNED

2-3 Matukai Adepts

DONATION
5,000 CREDITS[/FANCYBOX2]

[fancybox2]ATTACK OF TITANS

Salin is under attack! For reasons unknown, the neighboring world of Esooma has launched an attack on the settlements of Salin. Although once considered relatively primitive brutes, one thousand years of progress has hyper-militarized the hulking Esoomians. With the entire event utterly ignored by the Imperim, the natives of Salin have sent a distress call to any that would come to their aid against their aggressors.

Although a backwater world in the Outer Rim, the natives of Salin are still within the borders of the Sith Imperium nonetheless, and few would ever be willing to venture into their territory to save a people they don't even know. Thankfully, the Matukai are not among them.

OBJECTIVES

PRIMARY— Stop the attack on the Salin settlements by the Esoomian Hegemony
SECONDARY— Try to figure out why the Esoominas have attacked the Salin settlements, and end the assault diplomatically
OPTIONAL (1)— Rally and organize the nearby settlers of Salin (100 NPCs) and defeat the Esoomian forces (120 NPCs), forcing them to retreat back to Esooma
OPTIONAL (2)— Discover the location of Commandant Thrakus and eliminate him and his top officers (5 NPCs), forcing the Esoomians to retreat back to Esooma

ASSIGNED

2-3 Matukai Adepts

DONATION
7,000 CREDITS[/FANCYBOX2]

[FANCYBOX2]JUST BEFORE THE DAWN

Another Vorevak has been discovered toward the Galactic Core region. Reisha Gaul was once a Matukai with a troubled past. Discovered when she was approximately twelve years of age, Reisha lived as a slave in Hutt Space, the servant girl to Jargura the Hutt on Nar Shaddaa. After one of Jargura's envoy shipments of slaves was attacked and intercepted by Federation patrols, a Matukai warrior participating in the attack discovered the Force was strong with Reisha, and at her compliance, took her for evaluation on Karvoss.

Reisha had a troubled path, struggling with the Darkness within her heart. Although she made tremendous progress in her life, assigning discipline to herself and adhering to the Creed of the Matukai as best she could, Reisha was one who was never truly "Forged in Light". The evils she'd suffered in her past were such that she could not forget them completely, nor come to terms with her own history. Although she was believed to have been stable, at some point nearly two years ago, Reisha disappeared within the Galactic Core during the Sith Imperium's push in the Core Worlds.

It had long been assumed that Reisha lost her life in the crossfire between the Imperium and the Federation, but several months ago, an assassin was discovered in Hutt Space with a description found to be identical to Reisha's. Recently, holo-recordings confirmed her survival of Core Onslaught, and of her embracing the Darkness. Whatever happened to Reisha had turned her from the path of the Matukai and into a Vorevak, where she has been found assassinating several figures of the Hutt underworld for pleasure and payment alike. Using her custom gauntlet blades in the stead of a traditional wan-shen, Reisha is sewing chaos wherever she traverses in Hutt Space, and only a Matukai can stop her.

OBJECTIVES

PRIMARY—Stop Reisha Gaul from continuing to wage her shadow war on Nar Shaddaa
SECONDARY—Defeat Reisha Gaul
OPTIONAL (1)—Slay Reisha Gaul to end her torment and suffering
OPTIONAL (2)—Capture or subdue Reisha Gaul and return her to the Elders on Karvoss to be helped

ASSIGNED

1-2 Matukai Adepts

DONATION
4,000 CREDITS[/FANCYBOX2]

[FANCYBOX2]UNFRIENDLY FIRE

There have been a series of murders on Karideph of an especially gruesome source. Random civilians, men and women, adults, children and elderly of all species have been victims of arson, with many individuals being burned alive from the inside and outside. It was only recently that anyone has caught a glimpse of the perpetrator; a long hooded figure with flames dancing around their body.

Known simply as the Arsonist, this figure is a serial killer with over eighty victims thus far. No matter where these crimes and attacks happen, the authorities are never able to catch sight of the Arsonist. While it stands to reason that, eventually, the authorities will be able to capture or even put down the Arsonist, it would be inevitable that many, many more civilians will become the Arsonist's victims before this happens.

The Matukai have been called upon to aid in the discovery, pursuit and capture or defeat of the Arsonist. By all known accounts, the Arsonists is a Force-user with extensive pyrokinetic powers and possibly Force-enabled stealth, Force-augmented speed, or some other mechanism that has enabled him to seemingly vanish from the scenes of his crimes.

OBJECTIVES

PRIMARY—Track down and identify the Arsonist
SECONDARY—Assist the Karideph Security Force (KSF) in bringing down the Arsonist
OPTIONAL (1)—Slay the Arsonist to end his threat forever
OPTIONAL (2)—Defeat and take the Arsonist into KSF custody

ASSIGNED

1-2 Matukai Adepts

DONATION
6,000 CREDITS[/FANCYBOX2]

[FANCYBOX2]HE WHO FIGHTS MONSTERS...

The Matukai have recently discovered the location of a "Vorevak"; a fallen Matukai that embraced the Darkness. Taken from two words of the Matukai's battle language, "vo", which meant "undone" or "to undo", and "revak", which meant "sacred" or "that which is holy", the two words together meant "desecrator". A Vorevak is a dangerous and nomadic individual, wielding the Darkness in the place of the Light.

Terak Nur is the Vorevak found, after having fell and vanished almost seven years ago. A "born" Matukai of immense potential, Terak Nur has since slaughtered over three hundred sapients in Benthor, a remote mining colony on Christophsis. For reasons unknown, he had remained there among the dead for some time, possibly feeding his connection to the Darkness. And if that's true, then is inevitable that he will attack again.

Terak Nur was a Matukai prodigy that fought with his family's unique one-handed style with a Force-attuned shield of a metal alloy, known as the Aegis Form. He has slain fellow Matukai before, and is a hardened and bloodlusted killer. This is a mission only a true Matukai can accomplish.

OBJECTIVES

PRIMARY—Stop Terak Nur's rampage on Christophsis
SECONDARY—Find a way to pacify or defeat Terak Nur from the Darkness and return him to the Light
TERTIARY—Slay the berserker Terak Nur to stop his rampage
OPTIONAL (1)—If somehow pacified, allow Terak Nur to go free
OPTIONAL (2)—If somehow pacified or defeated, take Terak Nur into the custody of the Matukai Elders
OPTIONAL (3)—If defeated, execute Terak Nur to eliminate his threat for good

ASSIGNED

Ar'Rhan Ghol
Triton Octave

DONATION
8,000 CREDITS[/fancybox2]

[FANCYBOX2]THE WITCHING HOUR

When wielded by those forged in Light, the Force can be the single greatest ally in the galaxy. And when claimed by Darkness, can become the most terrible foe imaginable. All throughout galactic history, abusers of the Force have cropped up, as battle shamans, as magic-kings, and most famously, as witches. And with the Force in as much turbulence as it is now, it was only inevitable that such beings would once again begin to flourish.

On the swamp and marsh world of Taul, nearly four settlements have gone dark, isolated from intergalactic communications. A Northern settlement, Uliin, has sent a distress transmission, detailing events that were transpiring planetside. A being, a woman, of extraordinary powers has enthralled entire villages and colonies, and was continuing to spread her influence.

Known only as the "Enchantress", the inhabitants of Taul are without the means to overcome this danger on their own, and with their world now residing in unclaimed space, they lack the allies necessary to support them in this time of crisis. This is a cry for help that the Matukai cannot ignore.

OBJECTIVES

PRIMARY—Find a way to break the Enchantress's hold over the Taul settlements
SECONDARY—Defeat the Enchantress to stop her from enthralling more colonies
OPTIONAL (1)—Slay the Enchantress to end her threat once and for all
OPTIONAL (2)—Do not kill any of the enthralled settlers of Taul
OPTIONAL (3)—Incapacitate the Enchantress and deliver her to the custody of the Matukai Elders

ASSIGNED

Sweet! Well, it looks like we're ready to start then. At least, as far as the Matukai PCs are concerned as the mission calls for 1or 2 only. Though, I do know that Kaspyon has expressed interest in NPCing for us.

So would you care to start or the thread, me, or let Kaspyon set the scene? If you wish for me to start it, then it will need to wait for tonight as I'm busy with my kids today. Going to the local museum and then the swimming pool today. XD

Interesting! I'll be honest, I didn't really expect Disciples to get involved. You're both good to go once you find someone to NPC the witch. If you can't I'll do it if you want.

Something else to mention. The Matukai Chronicles will also be updated with mission completions, particularly if you encounter something... special. You'll know if it happens.

Yeah, and stuff will pop up in successive missions. For instance, in the "He who fights monsters..." thread, once completed, I will add a "Terak Nur" chronicle to the queue. However, depending on how the thread is RP'd, there may be two addition entries "unlocked". So it actually pays to try to get the most out of each thread, especially when dealing with mission-specific NPCs.

Hmm... This has me intrigued. I'm hoping my "I KILL YOU" approach isn't the wrong move, but if I'm honest to my character then Ar'Rhan would approach Terak in no other form. The man has slayed his brethren and because of this there can be no redemption.

It's not as if there's only one way to go about everything. You just have to RP it all out and find out :p

What can I say... I like hunting down Vorevak's. Solo or with some friends... I'm cool with either.
