Even with the element of surprise the ISC forces were more than what the Sith and Wodan had expected. The Super Battledroids were a far calibur above those within the Empire and showed their might upon the battlefield, eliminating most of his troops as Wodan lay upon the ground.

He couldn’t really remember what happened, there was only pain, one moment he was moving forward charging upon the enemy ready to finally pin a medal to his chest without shame. The next moment he was lying against a broken pillar in complete agony, his Firrerrian blood trying desperately to fight back against the burn damage to his lower body. He felt weak both from the blood loss and the massive effort his subconscious was going through to keep the Sith Champion alive.

Wodan’s vision was blurry, so he didn’t see the Imperial medic approach at first. Only the Firrerrian’s lack of energy saved the Imperial from being destroyed by a lashing strike of Force Energy from Wodan. “Sir, we need to get you out of here.” Wodan mumbled something, but it was slurred with split and blood pouring from his mouth. A minute later he was being carried upon a stretcher out of the immediate area, a small fall back area had been claimed by the Sith. Though the walls were slowly closing in on the Imperial presence, Wodan's vision completely went black.

Anai had been on the offensive so far in this short engagement of theirs, but the Orcolan had found an opening inbetween all those hits he had been receiving, a chance to hit her square in the neck. It would be difficult to deflect that blow using her free arm, while Anai was a big lady, she was not prepared and Rahman was a giant of a man. However, the jedi had overlooked an important detail: The lightsaber was not the only weapon she was carrying.

After all, close to the target of the Orcolan's attack was a natural weapon of the Kaleesh, their tusks (One tusk in Anai's case). So, as the fist came towards her she would look down and direct her tusk towards it, goring the Orcolan's hand instead of letting it strike its intended target. The strength and speed of the jedi's strike would work against him as that would just make the impact on the sharp tusk even harder, the fist being severely hurt by it as the tusk cut through the fingers and impaled through the palm of the hand.

Of course, this defense had been done in a bit of a pinch against an opponent that was much bigger than her, something she was not used to, so Anai would not be unscathed either. She would suffer from different forms of pain: First off, a bit of the tip of the tusk would be chipped off by the punch as a result of the strength behind it, then the momentum of the punch itself would be felt in the root of her tusk which would reach all the way to the mouth. Anai's mouth, as well as the potrusion the tusk came out of, would be bleeding as Anai let out a loud grunt of pain and stumbled backwards, needing to quickly step back in order to catch her footing. Anai was in quite a lot of pain by this, but the Orcolan would find himself in even worse shape, which would allow her to regain her footing and get her head back in the game first, turning her pain into a warcry of pure anger.

He was hurt enough as it is by the rest of attacks he had received so far but the pain of having a hand unusable would probably make him vulnerable and unable to react to what came next: While one of his hands was occupied being locked against the lightsaber and the other one was busy being a tusked kebab, Anai's hand was free to point at him straight in the head and let free a powerful, albeit short, burst of flame that he would have trouble dealing with, seeing he had many tiny bleedings wounds throughtout his torso from the debri attack, the wind knocked out of him for a moment from the door and down to one functioning harm. Of course, to seal the deal Anai stepped forward once more, pushing back with her blade hard enough to keep his own one in place to avoid any last efforts, taking advantage of his weakened state again.

Should this hit, the Orcolan would for sure be out of the fight and Anai would have time to focus on his troops, her fight would be far from over.

The Night Veil was absolutely rocked. Turrets were ripped off, ammo cashes erupted, decks were blown out, and several systems were damaged. The initial shot from the CR90s managed to disable the communications systems, a one in a million shot that somehow managed to work. Ramage could mostly sit and watch as all of the corvettes and frigates with him dip him, what idiots. Those who stood back would have accommodations if they survived, a majority of those who followed would be reported for incompetence. The vents that were shot out were sealed off at the bulkheads, the systems damaged were more of a problem. Engineering crews worked hard to bring them fullly online. The damaged communications array was jurryrigged, so while the array would not be able to communicate with the command ships it would atleast be able to communicate with the near-by craft.

"Bzzzt...his thing oper...fffff...al? B....ast it, I'll op....ffff... this thing anyway. All frigates and corv...bzt...ts: retreat to the Gladi...fff...rs. They are left al...ff...ne with to little support. Get your craft back to them, those who are able to support the more damaged craft." If they would listen, the more damaged craft moved to swoop back towards their lines as as the more well off craft stayed back to cover their retreat even as they backed up. It would take time, but hopefully they could make it before one of the Gladiators went down.

If the Kaleesh had hoped that her little tusk maneuver would be a coup de grâce, she would quickly find the overbearing Orcolan surprising her. Previously, his saber hand locked hers in place as he swung his free hand as a fist toward her throat.

A tremendous amount of pain jolted down his forearm as her tusk pierced between his fingers and through the palm of his hand. An Orculean grunt of pain erupted from his lips at the unexpected intrusion, though she too had received her own medicine as the defense had hurt her as well.

She would however not disengage as she planned, as the tusk had buried itself upright into his palm and did not easily remove itself by the angle at which it sat. She would find herself temporarily attached to the angry Orcolan, as his fist clenched to take hold of her tusk and control it.

As she tried to step back he would stop her, and instead held her face towards the horizontal lightsaber that he was holding close by, shifting its angle forward and fully into her face should she not find a way to avoid it as her own blade was stuck in place and not easily able to defend her head. If she immediately surrendered, he would take her prisoner, otherwise, she would seal her own fate to kiss a lightsaber.

Scratched, bleeding, and in pain, he'd put up one heck of a fight against this smaller opponent. Although his attack was intended to interrupt it, if she still intended to launch a pyro attack, he would take it with a pained, dizzying grunt to ensure that his own attack succeeded.

In Orbit - ISC

While the Night Veil's engineering crew was ordered to focus on jury-rigging the communications system, fires spread with only minimal resistance through decks that still had atmosphere. Meanwhile, while the crew and commanding officers of the Night Veil were scrambling to get their ducks in rows, they were still under full assault by the ISC wolfpack.

Without orders every leading would make their own decisions, few of which were coordinated. The front-leading part of the wolfpack, currently targeting the Night Veil, six Yuso, and six Raiders, were taking unfocused return fire. Not enough to take them down, but pressure nontheless. Amid the barrage, turbolaser blasts, laser fire, and concussion missiles struck home against the Imperial picket craft.

The Night Veil, without top shields or any real orders from its Captain and still at the front of the formation, was hit hard as it flew straight into the wolfpack's full salvo. More breaches were blasted through the hull and superstructure, detonations flinging off chunks of burning slag into space. Its bridge section was hit by concussion missiles, killing command crew and exposing its interior to the vacuum of space. Secondary explosions began as core power systems were breached, overloaded, and detonated.

In a flash of light, the Night Veil would crack in half as its damaged reactor exploded, killing most of the remaining crew. The corvettes alongside were hit hard, shields flagging without support or the firepower to challenge the ISC's frigates. Their last orders before their lead ship burned was to maneuver back again, but doing so required they completely turn around from full speed and allow the enemy to flank them worse than they already were. Those Imperial cships that did turn around would be mercilessly fired upon by the wolfpack ships before them.

The Wolfpack's half that came in from above had focused on the gladiators along with the encircling CR90 corvettes, and for good reason. They were the biggest and baddest ships, but they were slow and without support. With shields weakened by a full barrage and no focus of their own, and the CR90s suppression of their hangar bays apparently successful, the ISC bombing run had rocketed full tilt toward the Gladiator bridges in attack formation.

Three squadrons from above closed on one side's gladiator, firing missiles and proton torpedoes once they were close enough to bypass their weakened shields, with two squadrons after the other flank. All squadrons would fire proton torpedoes into the bridge structures, obliterating them and leaving behind two crippled Gladiators. The remaining five Hammerheads, eight Sphyrna, and eight Corellian Gunships focused fire on the central Gladiator to finish it off through sheer focused firepower.

As the corvettes were ordered to retreat backward from a full tilt forward, any who did so worsening their existing mess of a formation, the five concealed squadrons of ships from the front assault half revealed themselves and flew forward. Using the Night Veil's shattered remains as cover for their approach, they began their own bombing runs on five of the Raider-III corvettes, targeting their bridge complexes.

Worse still was the Imperial picket section's morale. Their formation was increasingly losing shield strength and ships while the ISC wolfpack surrounded them on all sides. They'd been commanded to follow an officer who'd vaingloriously charged them toward the enemy. Communication among the imperial formation picket was in complete disarray, with no target focus or ship tactics to speak of, command crews screaming orders in a panic.

OOC: Autohits to three Gladiators, six Yuso, six Raiders, and the Night Veil from not addressing any attacks toward them. Night Veil destroyed, two Gladiators disabled with destroyed bridges.

By this point, Major General Belari couldn’t mask her satisfaction. She watched as the Sith Champion was sent sailing across the field unconscious, his troopers scattered by the overwhelming firepower of the ISC ground forces. She wouldn’t offer them any reprieve, and intended to make the Empire bleed for daring to step foot onto Consortium territory.

Without moving from her perch, the Major General activated her commlink once more - voice projecting to the shared channel between the armed forces. “All remaining S.C.D Units, begin forward advance to engage remaining Imperial forces.” For the first time, the remaining dozen Super Combat Droids began to march across the field - their heavy, metallic footsteps causing the ground beneath their feet to quake. Without their commanding officer, the Major General knew that Imperial Troopers would struggle to mount a counterattack - and the overwhelming force of Droids would ensure their demise.

The rest of Wodan’s troopers would be shown no mercy. As the two approaching droids finally arrived, all five S.C.D Units unleashed a volley with their repeater blasters - tearing through them like vibroblade through bantha butter. With deflector screens activated, not a single blaster bolt found purchase against the Droids - and the Imperials simply weren’t allowed to get close enough to roll a grenade beneath the shields.

“Continue suppressive fire upon incoming Speederbikes,” She barked - ordering her squadrons of organic troopers to continue their long-ranged picking of the Imperials.

“Artillery Units 1 and 4, power down to reload. Unit 3, target Hailfire on any remaining Imperial forces to the East." As ordered, two of the Spidertanks began to power down - beginning the slow process of reloading their hailfire munitions. The other two, however, turned towards the remaining Imperials to the east - unleashing yet another payload of twelve missions - enough to complete wipe out what remained of the squadron.

Does any one know where the Empress' love goes

When the battle turns minutes to hours?

The searchers all say they'd have made the a docking bay

If they'd put fifteen more MG's behind her

They might have split up or they might have capsized

They may have broke deep and took on void

Once a warship that put fear in their foes

Now broken and a-drift like an asteroid

In a musty old hall in Korriban they prayed

In the maritime sailors' college

The grand ol' bell chimed 'til it rang three-hundred fiftey times

For each man on the good ol' Night Veil

The legend lives on from the Duros on down

Of the big flaw they call war mongering

The Void, they said, never gives up her dead

When the tides of great war come early

-

Ramage was running through the halls of his ship, ensuring that the escape pods were full before he entered his. Those who survived would be pulled down to Corellia, practically a suicide mission in it of itself, but Ramage knew it was better than dying by a reactor meltdown. One by one, each pod was jettisoned into the void to crash down bellow with the Sith fleet being pummeled above. Most of the Night Veil's crew were dead, so barley any pods were launched with life onboard. The rest were fired to mask those that had the survivors, which somewhat blended into the wreckage falling down to the planet below. The wreckage was hurtling directly towards the bulk of the ISC, as it seemed the Night Veil wanted to give one last middle finger to her enemies before she died.

A tear would have been shed from Ramage's remaining four eyes if he could, as the broken body of his faithful droid Aurelian was sat beside him in their pod. Slowly, Ramage began to disrobe and change into a plain grey jumpsuit designed to roughly fit him. He had to honor his fallen comrades, he had to get back to the Sith Empire alive. The pod softly glowed around him as he broke atmosphere, rocking harder than when it was launched. Ramage made sure his blaster pistol at his side, ensuring it not only was there but loaded, as he awaited the drop to stop harshly. Buckled in, he braced. Even if it took him every ounce of strength, he would survive. He had whatever credits he had on him, the wounds he had on his hide, the new memory wiped M-3P0 beside him, and the fully loaded blaster pistol. Verses all of the might of the ISC. What could possibly go wrong?

The Orcolan might was great, that is true, had he been in top shape even Anai, someone quite strong as well, would have no way of stopping herself from getting far too close to the lightsaber. Unfortunately for the jedi, however, you were as good as your worst day: And so far it was not a good day for him. He would find himself unable to clench his fist and grasp her tusk with enough strength to take control of it as the impalement would have badly damaged the nerves, ligaments and muscles that helped the fingers move (which had also been cut during the stabbing) so the hand itself was functionally useless as of right now.

However, Anai would also show some resistance to the pull itself, using the momentum that she had backwards as soon as she noticed the tug in order to lean back, putting her weight as she also pulled away from the lightsaber, making sure to secure her footing to make herself as hard to move as possible. While the jedi could not grab the tusk itself, he could still pull with his arm as the tusk was still stuck , but that would not be quite as effective and it would be much, much more painful as it would tear up the hand even further.

The combination of the increase in pain, lack of ability to actually grab the tusk, Anai pulling back and the decrease in strength from the other sustained wounds meant that the Kaleesh would have more than enough time to shoot her flames, but it wouldn't be enough to completely avoid that lightsaber stab, the lightsaber cutting across her face and leaving a nasty lightsaber scar, a wound that would have been fatal had she been an inch closer.

Anai would let out a cry of pain but her flames would still come out, although not as precise as she tried to make them be originally. Instead of burning the jedi's head to cinder, the flames would go wide, burning his left arm, shoulder and side of the body, although not enough to take him out of the fight or to damage beyond repair as even that side of him hadn't received the flames head on. Regardless, it would prove a distraction which she would use to take his hand off her tusk.

However, her eyes would go wide in shock as she realized what had happened...And looked at her Kaleesh mask, which had fallen off her face, broken in pieces, melted bone on the floor "NOO!" Anai would scream in anguish. Her mask, the last thing she got from her tribe, her most prized possession had been destroyed by the jedi. Even after being stunned by the flame attack, the jedi would notice the anger and grief that overflowed Anai.

Looking at him with nothing but pure hatred, Anai tightened her grip around her lightsaber, ready to jump at him once more...But then she realized the situation around her as one of her soldiers told her that they needed to retreat, Anai would hesitate between running at the jedi or going back for a moment, letting out a deep breath to control her emotions "I'll turn your bones into another mask next time we meet, jedi!" The Kaleesh would threaten, pure venom in her tone of voice before retreating alongside her soldiers. The Empire had been beaten and she couldn't help but feel like nothing but a failure...But she was no use to the Empire dead, she would do better next time.

There was a tremendous amount of pain thumping through the Orcolan's body, a significant amount stemming from the traumatic wound to the hand and then some more from the flames. Though he may have gotten the better of his opponent, it wasn't without a significant toll on his own body.

As she broke free from his grasp, he would offer no chase. The ISC soldiers continued to shoot for a short period but soon switched to securing their current positions as the enemy fled. Once they had completed their checks and felt ready to continue, they would likely press forward until the enemy had been driven entirely from their home.

Rahman however, was in serious need of medical attention. Corellia was well equipped to deal with the kinds of injuries that he had encountered, although it was likely that the healing process would be slow and painful with perhaps even long-term difficulties to deal with. With the combat over his adrenaline withered away and the injuries caught up with him. A pained grunt later, he fell to his knees and rolled over onto the ground to the surprise of no one around him.

The next thing he knew, he was waking up somewhere unfamiliar.

And so it was over.

Just as quickly as they’d appeared, Major General Belari watched as Imperial Forces began to withdraw from the battlefield - overwhelmed and sent fleeing back the way they’d come. Her Super Combat Droid Units did the heavy lifting by cleaving through Imperial Troopers, but the Major General didn’t miss the contributions from the Orcolan fighting alongside ISC Troopers. She made a mental note to seek the Jedi out personally, to thank him and ensure he was offered the best medical treatment the Consortium had to offer. (@Xorism)

Transmissions from the fleet in orbit soon relayed a similar story, confirming an ISC victory albeit with heavy casualties. They despite being caught off-guard in the wake of the Kilik attack, the Consortium had won the day - and the Empress had heavily miscalculated her opponent.

“All Units - move to secure the boundaries of Coronet City. Do not pursue fleeing Imperial Forces.” What remained of the Imperial Troopers, Wodan and Anai would find their escape largely unmolested. The Major General wanted there to be survivors of the battle, and for Imperial Forces to return to Serenno with their tails between their legs. (@Braden) (@Versok)

“Open a channel to President Thorne and the Executive Council - so that they might be informed of the situation.” He barked the order to her second-in-command. (@Nefieslab) (@Sreeya)

“Inform them that we’ve won.”
