Hey all! Now that I've returned from my extended stay in parts unknown, I'd like to get the ball rolling on some of the organized training I talked about awhile back.
The first such effort will be a class covering basic rifle marksmanship and individual rifle/carbine tactics. This would be a stand alone test class. The way I would like to run this would serve multiple purposes- first, it gets our small community involved, and is a good chance for those of our characters that haven't met a chance to do so. Second, it would provide an organized way for our members to enhance their characters skills, much the way the Jedi and Sith do. Third, it is an opportunity for some of our members to practice some more descriptive writing. I dislike the way many training threads go- that is, players show up, bullshit around with very short postings talking about how their characters pays attention, does something, and is all of the sudden an expert at it. I would want to see some very descriptive posts, showing that you understand the concepts being taught and how to portray them in your writing. This is a skill that I believe is far more valuable than just being able to add a pip to your profiles stat tracker.
If there is a sufficient turn out for this thread, I'd love to expand on it and run a few more classes of this type, running the gammut of how to kill people faster and more efficiently, as individuals and as groups :)
