It all clicked for Talak as Crix said that he hadn't told Trys. The thought that this was why she had kept him away from Crix in the first place had crossed his mind, but if she didn't even know then that changed things altogether. Things just kept getting more complicated.

I see, he said. And that's why you were trying to get back to Ajan Kloss, he conjectured. He was surprised no one had noticed when he'd been there at the funeral, but with the amount of upheaval at that event he supposed it shouldn't have been surprising.

But that wasn't a problem for now. The real problem was figuring out how the Sith had found him, and it didn't seem he had any ideas. Being the naturally suspicious person that he was, Talak suspected Crix's friends may have sold him out, but he didn't say as much. That wasn't a rift he needed to create right now, though he did file away the potential dangers if he told them what the plan was going forward. Later.

We've still got a long flight time to Coruscant, is there anything you need? Food? Something to drink? he asked. As abrasive as Talak could be, there was nothing to be gained right now by being unkind. They weren't on a time crunch, and he knew that the answer was likely to be "no" but even when consumed by work or concern, staying in proper shape was the only way to actually accomplish what you needed to do. @Nefieslab

Yeah.

Ajan Kloss, home of the Jedi Order and a place he had been so desperate to get to that he had thrown caution to the wind. He hadn't had it in him to tell his mother about his sexuality - the hell was he supposed to tell her he was one of those Force-slinging shite-stirers she had to deal with all the time? Part of him was ashamed at this part of himself and likely would be for a long time, though training to be one of the less horrible Force-slingers would help.

He sighed deeply and managed, at last, to pull on the mask of calm. The appearance that he was alright and that he could keep going - his right hand stopped shaking and he focused on his goal. Rubbing at his eyes with his thumb, just to make sure the last traces of weakness were gone, he nodded.

"Yeah. Me and my friends we... well I'm not the only one who has the Force. We wanted to make it to the Jedi so we wouldn't become Sith-Shites."
he admitted with a shrug, "I'll be back with them as soon as mom is alright - I can't just leave them."

Not willingly at least.

Crix looked up at Talak for a moment and really actually looked at him. He pushed past his feelings on the man and his relationship with his mother for a second and really just looked at the man. And he was... trying his best. Feck it would be easy to shout and rage at the man he had issues with already but it wasn't right. Talak was trying his best even though he was clearly not a people person.

So Crix didn't default to sass.

"Got a workbench and tools?"
he asked instead, tapping his pistol, "My mom rigged my blaster pistol to only fire stun shots - I'm gonna fix that."

He had killed... two people so far? Yeah two Sith so far and two guards if he counted them (he didn't count them as his kill since their suicide thingys killed them) and he'd done that without a lethal weapon.

"... and you got any vibro weapons? Need something other than a stun baton and I don't feel like you'd lend me a saber."

Talak nodded as he explained his intent to find the Jedi and mentioned that his friends were also Force sensitive. Perhaps they could go back and bring them all to Ajan Kloss later. He didn't know. He also couldn't fault them for not wanting to end up in the Sith. Talak knew all about that.

Maybe I can help you all get to the Enclave, he said with a shrug. Either way, the priority was to get to Trys and everything else, well, there weren't even guarantees that Talak would be here when it was all over. Attacking the Sith was dangerous, after all.

Yeah, come on, he said, standing and motioning with his head. They made their way down the hall, through the ship's main room, and back into the small room just before the cargo bays. It was Talak's makeshift armory and it had a wide array of gear and equipment.

At one side of the room was a workbench and tools that Talak used for his own equipment modifications. He opened one of the lockers in the room to reveal a small arsenal of wepaons. Knives, lightsabers, shortsword, an energy bow, and even a couple of blasters - though Talak didn't particularly love them - among other things were inside. He pulled out a short phrik vibrosword, the one that Talak often carried himself into battle, and handed it to Crix.

I'll want this back, but the blade's phrik and it'll stop a lightsaber, he said. That also meant the weapon was extremely expensive. Phrik was a valuable and rare commodity in the galaxy.

Hopefully we won't need it, he said. But hoping for the best was a great way to get yourself killed. Plan for the worst always.

Let me know if you need anything else. I'll let you know when we're getting close to Coruscant, he said and turned to head back to the cockpit.

Talak helping them get to the Jedi wasn't why he had mentioned it but if he was offering he wasn't going to say no. He was going to make sure he finished fixing up the ship still though because he really wanted the ship. The VXC series of freighters was one that he'd seen on some holonet shows as a kid and had stuck around in his mind as iconic. But it would be appreciated getting him and his friends to the Jedi so they could actually start their journeys as Jedi and all that.

He just nodded to Talak's suggestion - because there were other concerns before they focused back on that.

Following the Jedi friend (he wasn't gonna call him his mother's boyfriend or anything like that) of his mother through the ship, he looked around the ship a little bit more. It was a bit big for just one guy and his droid, like it was designed to be piloted and run by people who were friends with each other.

And this guy didn't strike him as the type to have friends.

"Sure thing."
he agreed without really thinking about it as he accepted the shortsword before setting it down to the side as he placed his blaster on the bench and started activating some tools he was going to use, "If I get blood on it, I'll make sure to wipe it down."

It was a joke but, eh, he wasn't sure. He was still at least 85% certain that his mom could handle anything that was thrown at her but for the remaining 15% of himself? Well he was expecting to have to use the sharp, pointy, end of the sword before too long. He nodded to Talak.

"I'll be here."

He needed to think and the best way to think for Crix was to work with his hands. Hopefully it would help him deal with the whirlwind of emotions going on inside his head but he wasn't so sure about that.
