Earlier this week, the Imperial Armed Forces, once more led by Grand Marshal Altair Din, conducted a preemptive and retaliatory strike on the independent planet Korda Six.
This operation legitimately followed a series of unprovoked and unconscionable attacks by Kordan paramilitary groups on Imperial assets and citizens without apparent cause or prior declaration of hostility. Imperial intelligence confirmed these attacks were made with the full knowledge and support of the Kordans’ home planet, which had been united behind the perpetrators some time prior. The organization of Kordan society, in warlike bands led by warlords rallied to the terrorist group responsible for the assaults, cannot be detached from the decision the Empire had to make in the face of ongoing aggression.
As additional confirmation, the subsequent raid on the planet Ossus was solely aimed at bolstering the Kordans’ military capability by illegally capturing a cruiser-class capital ship. The prohibitive cost of operating such a vessel is well-known to be shoulderable only by planetary governments and organizations of equivalent size, further disproving the claim that these actions were those of an isolated, unsupported terror cell. At the time of the cruiser’s acquisition, the warlike Kordans had only ever acted in conflicts of their own making as aggressors and never in self-defense. Combined with an emerging pattern of unprovoked and unpredictable violence against the Empire, their militarization made the united warring tribes of Korda Six a security threat that could no longer be ignored. The casualties from the resulting IAF strike were authorized for aiding in abetting in the death of Imperial civilians.
The Empire will always stand for the security and sovereignty of its citizens above all.
