OCW Rotatable Combat Shield
Description: The OJM Combat Shield is incredibly low tech compared to other equipment found on the battlefield, and indeed the galaxy at large. But sometimes simple is better. A shield a nearly a meter and a half tall built using a curved duraplast base with plastoid layered on top of it. It can take several shots from standard infantry weapons, protecting the wielder from harm, but is in no way capable of resisting or redirecting hits from heavy emplacements or lightsabers. It's dual handle set up allows most beings in the galaxy to use it, but it's conciderable size and weight make it difficult for anyone to carry and maneuver, especially over a long period of time. It is designed to take advantage of the four arms of the Besalisk species by sharing the weight between two arms instead of only one, granting multi-limb species with a slight advantage in terms of weight. The Bottom most handle has a magnetic catch allowing the user to rotate the shield between its traditional vertical state and a horizontal one allowing a Besalisk to wield a weapon with both of it's upper arms while the lower hold the shield.

Intent:
I am posting this partially because I did not see any physical shield templates posted and did not know if this would be considered generic. The other reason is to give a Besalisk PC that I am building, and the Besalisk species as a whole a piece of combat equipment that is built to take advantage of their second set of arms. This shield allows a Besalisk to have near full body protection while sharing the weight across multiple arms and still leaving arms available to wield weapons in hands either on one side of their body or their upper set.

Please provide a specific protection rating. Use the armor profiles as an example. Heavy/medium blaster and vibroblade ratings please.

Updated. Is more tweaking needed?

I think 4 vibroblade hits is way too tanky. Not even heavy armor is allowed to do that

That would mean like someone could take 6 direct hits from a vibrosword combined with armor like it's nothing.

I'd put it at two.

Good point, I hadn't really considered armor. And is 3 blaster shots also too tanky? I'm thinking about the whole surface area of the shield when i first came up with these numbers.

Protection rating looks good @Kallus, but if you could add something in the description about it being bulky, heavy, and hard to maneuver, that would be good.
