NOVA TECHNOLOGIES INNOVATION & DESIGN

The Nova Technologies Innovation and Design (NTID), otherwise known as NovaTech, was established in 1023 to prevent strategic surprise from negatively impacting the multitudes of societies and create strategic surprise for their enemies by maintaining the technological superiority of their own militaries.

To fulfill its mission, the Corporation relies on diverse performs to apply multi-disciplinary approaches to both advance knowledge through basic research and create innovative technologies that address current practical problems through applied research. NovaTech’s scientific investigations span the gamut from laboratory efforts to the creation of full-scale technology demonstrations in the fields of biology, medicine, computer science, chemistry, physics, engineering, mathematics, material sciences, neurosciences and more. NovaTech undertakes projects that are finite in duration but that create lasting revolutionary change.

Creating breakthrough technologies for our investors is the mission of NovaTech. By making pivotal investments in new technology-driven ideas for our investors, NovaTech imagines and makes possible new capabilities for overcoming the multifaceted threats and challenges that lie ahead. This makes a better, more secure future possible. In an uncertain Galaxy, with war being a near certainty, providing these new capabilities is more important than ever.

Looking back, precision guidance navigation, stealth, unmanned vehicles, electronic warfare, area denial, space & ground superiority, and communications networking are among the technologies that changed the face of war over the last two decades. Many people and organizations worked these technologies to perfection. In each case, the Empire made key early investments that changed what was possible and started a revolution in capability.

Today, NovaTech is helping to build a future in which we can do extraordinary things. Fully control the electromagnetic spectrum for communications, sensing, and imaging. Provide a way to combat the ever increasing medical supply shortages. Increase access to and through space by offering new innovations in the fields of space travel. Open new operational regimes with advanced delivery platforms and weapons. To build a strong foundation for tomorrow’s military systems, we are catalyzing an advanced technology base in new areas of information technology, electronics, and materials science, as well as new technologies emerging from the biotech sciences.

Our Framework​

NovaTech’s investment strategy begins with a portfolio approach. Reaching for outsized impact means taking on risk, and high risk in pursuit of high payoff is a hallmark of our programs. We pursue our objectives through hundreds of programs. By design, programs are finite while creating lasting revolutionary change. They address a wide range of technology opportunities and national security challenges. This assures that while individual efforts might fail—a natural consequence of taking on risk—the total portfolio delivers.

How do we create this portfolio of programs? One major part of the answer is bottom up: NovaTech program managers define and propose new programs they believe promise revolutionary change. This is important for several reasons. An effective NovaTech program manager is the person closest to the critical challenges and possible technology opportunities in his or her arena, and the personal inspiration and drive behind a novel idea is the spark needed to start a big fire. We give our employee’s the freedom they need to pursue technological progress.

Yet we recognize that our work lives in a context of today’s realities and tomorrow’s outlook. So a framework for NovaTech—an understanding of our enduring mission in the context of the political and technological environment and its direction—is vital in shaping our portfolio.

Nova Technologies Research/Maintenance Employees
Nova Tech Research personnel can expect to heavily focus on the development of technologies of all kinds. As an employee, you will have the freedom you need to explore new avenues of progress. Nova Tech focuses heavily on maintaining the belief that it's personnel need to actively seek improvement. This means in both self and in their work. It is not only allowed, but encouraged, that all research and maintenance staff actively seek out opportunities in the field. And so, it is not uncommon for our employees to accompany fighter pilots, security personnel, medical personnel, and our clients, as they do their jobs and accomplish their missions. These are the people you design and build for, understand what they need by directly observing, recording data, and brainstorm ideas on improving what is currently in use.

The nature of Nova Technologies is dangerous and secretive. Every project and facility are secured by you and your coworkers. To do this job Nova Tech outfits you with the best it can offer in protection and weaponry. Your experience in the military line of work is of enormous importance and Nova Tech will attempt to do everything in its power to keep you safe, should danger arise. Security personnel varies widely as it offers jobs for pilots, soldiers, leaders, and caretakers. The security of Nova Tech and all of its customers relies on your abilities to get the job done. Deployments are on a bi-weekly basis, allowing for down time while off duty. While deployed, Nova Tech expects its employees to stay vigilant and strong.

hmmmm. I didn't catch that small detail. So are there any other glaring issues with this right now? Other than member count, I realize that I will need at least another member.

Hey @BZenwrath - I've just been reviewing this at the moment, and I am not quite done yet, but there are a few initial points I'd like to clarify. Obviously first off, before being approved, you'll need your member base to reach the minimum requirement of three members.

One question I do have is regarding the defences around a few of your facilities, for example you dry dock. You state 'radial turret defences' for example. Could you be more specific? What kind of turrets are these, what do they shoot? How many are there, and what are their positions? Things like this really should be spelt out to avoid any ambiguity down the line.

Also, more of a heads up than something you have to do right now (because there's not much point in doing it until your faction gets approved) but once the faction's approved you will need to submit all the profiles for the ships and armour you want to sell to the tech board for approval there (and likewise with any future tech you want to sell).

If I can get permission from an admin for dual membership I'd love to join your company as a security consultant. Or commander though splitting his time between both factions would make commander difficult.

thanks for the feedback, I'll work on getting a more in depth description of the defenses and I'll go ahead if see if there's any other spots I should elaborate on. I expect there will be a few other things I'll need to do so let me know and I'll attempt to fix anything that comes up.

we'll have to see what the admins think. Personally I'd prefer singlar allegiances, rps will always be open to those who wish to help or act as a consultant.
