Hey guys! Since this is only the second year we've been doing monthly newsletters, the staff team wanted to get some feedback on them from the community. Below is a short questionnaire you can answer, but you're free to reply anyway you want.

Questionnaire
  • Do you read the newsletter? If so, how often?
  • What part of the newsletter, if any, do you look forward to reading the most?
  • Would you like to see any part of the newsletter changed?
  • If you could add a section to the newsletter, what would it be?
  • Is there any other feedback you would like to provide? If so, please do.

  • Do you read the newsletter? If so, how often? Every time it comes out, at least once.
  • What part of the newsletter, if any, do you look forward to reading the most? PvP to see if any of the kills are funny.
  • Would you like to see any part of the newsletter changed? Maybe featured threads list a bit more pronounced, what was important that month besides just the faction overviews themselves.
  • If you could add a section to the newsletter, what would it be? Interest pieces. Some look into side stories that are going on maybe.
  • Is there any other feedback you would like to provide? I love Newsletter <3

  • Do you read the newsletter? If so, how often? Yes I do, and I do so all the time.
  • What part of the newsletter, if any, do you look forward to reading the most? What has gone on in the galaxy, the summary of plots and deaths.
  • Would you like to see any part of the newsletter changed? A bit more descriptive in the summaries, my guess is that the plots owner is asked. Flesh it out guys and gals!
  • If you could add a section to the newsletter, what would it be? A little bit more lore, even if its a random newsarticle style. Imagine that me asking for Holo-net news...
  • Is there any other feedback you would like to provide? If so, please do. Keep up the great work, hope to see the next one as soon as possible!

Do you read the newsletter? If so, how often?
Yes ever month

What part of the newsletter, if any, do you look forward to reading the most?
Summary of galaxy events. Plots, funny deaths, interesting threads, facstion news stuff like that

Would you like to see any part of the newsletter changed?
Maybe just bit more with events. Does not have to be work just by you. Example for a facstion stuff the FL can put a paragraph in for a PvP kill maybe the Victor can give a statement. These can be IC words to. Example a mandalorian can say
"the sith was brave man to challenge three of us alone. Killing him was more enjoyable for it" or what ever. Really just more stuff.

If you could add a section to the newsletter, what would it be?

Maybe a feature on other news like if a new planet in the atlas was approved or species. I would add tech but so much is approved and we all ready have a system that catalogs all the tech. But nothing for the other pieces.

Is there any other feedback you would like to provide? If so, please do.
You doing a great job.

  • Do you read the newsletter? If so, how often? Try to read ever letter soon as I see it up.
  • What part of the newsletter, if any, do you look forward to reading the most? Funny PvP kills.
  • Would you like to see any part of the newsletter changed? I like it as is.
  • If you could add a section to the newsletter, what would it be? Maybe so Indie Factions a little more love, and not just what the mains are doing ?
  • Is there any other feedback you would like to provide? If so, please do. It's actually been more interesting since Dread took over. Keep it up.

  • Do you read the newsletter? If so, how often? Sometimes, (Mostly just forget, nothing against the newsletter itself)
  • What part of the newsletter, if any, do you look forward to reading the most? The state of factions, I like seeing general progress made across all factions and whats the local scoop.
  • Would you like to see any part of the newsletter changed? Like I said my favorite part of the newsletter is the state of factions and in my opinion, I think it would be cool to make that a separate thread from the newsletter. From what I read above it seems people want more detail and you can call the new thread, "State of The Galaxy!" Or something along those lines. That way you can have more space to write a descriptive summary of the faction without making the newsletter too long to scroll through. (Sidenote on that, it would be cool if a general map of the Atlas was on it, just the color markings to see the general territory expansion of other factions and a quick tangible info check of what's happening.) That's just my two cents on that. Regarding everything else it looks great to me and receiving information is simple.
  • If you could add a section to the newsletter, what would it be? Nothing comes to mind.
  • Is there any other feedback you would like to provide? If so, please do. I think it would be useful if you had a tab titled "Newsletters" on the side of the home page like the "Recent Threads" one. That way they are in order and it's a quick and easy click away to see what the general info of that month is right there. That's all I can think of, thanks for putting in all the hard work for the newsletter!

  • Do you read the newsletter? If so, how often? I try to read every month, but mostly I skim them for news on factions and updates on the in-universe timeline.
  • What part of the newsletter, if any, do you look forward to reading the most? Per above, I prefer to read about faction advances and updates on the story timeline. They help me glean a clearer understanding of what's going on, who's doing what, and the general state of the RP.
  • Would you like to see any part of the newsletter changed? Personally, the PvP updates. I don't see what they really add to the newsletter. If a character(s) died during a major event or as part of a major battle, then by all means note their loss. But for those who were killed trying to get a cup of joe and their day turned into a laser sword fight instead, nope. It doesn't provide any meaningful information that can be used by other writers.
  • If you could add a section to the newsletter, what would it be? Not really a section per se, but I have to agree with @Orbit that a map should be provided somewhere to give everyone a clearer picture of where faction borders are, and how they have shifted.
  • Is there any other feedback you would like to provide? If so, please do. Have to agree with @Orbit again. A Newsletters tracker would really be useful in helping everyone to keep track of past and present Newsletters. Otherwise, the Newsletters are a wealth of information that help me stay up to date without having to make a million inquiries as to what's going on.

  • Do you read the newsletter? If so, how often?
I do my best to read as much of every issue as I can.
  • What part of the newsletter, if any, do you look forward to reading the most?
I like basically all of it. The faction overviews—as well as the plot overviews and PvP—I enjoy them all roughly equally.
  • Would you like to see any part of the newsletter changed?
Yeah. I think while it's really great lately and Dread has been doing a fantastic job, I'd really like to see more emphasis on minor faction activities and smaller plots. I think the PvP section is pretty good as is, though I agree with @Andrewza, I think having a bit more detail to it would definitely make it more immersive, however you chose to go about that. I somewhat disagree with @Gamov in that I think the PvP section should definitely continue to detail all PvP kills/deaths wherever possible, since every player deserves to have their character's death recognized, and searching through those deaths can lead to meeting other users who you can end up RPing with. Not to mention, some deaths have the capacity to be very amusing. Perhaps the section could be split into "Story-significant Deaths" and "Insignificant Deaths" so that users who are only interested in the deaths that are actually meaningful to the story (like @Gamov) can read through those and skip the others.

As for the faction updates, I think they're great. Although, I agree with @Taz in that giving a bit more love to the smaller/indie factions would definitely do some good. Also, I think everyone unanimously agrees with @Orbit, a general map of the galactic Atlas detailing changes since the last issue *someplace*, be it in the potential "State of the Galaxy!" thread or in the Newsletter itself, would be absolutely fantastic.
  • If you could add a section to the newsletter, what would it be?
I think a Tech section, listing a bunch of curated, newly-approved weapons/ships/assorted-tech, would be really cool. Same goes for a Lore section featuring the best new planets, species, families, and general lore the past month had to offer.
  • Is there any other feedback you would like to provide? If so, please do.
*you're doing freaking great @Dread, keep up the good work. I really look forward to the next issue!*

  • Do you read the newsletter? If so, how often?
I read it every time it comes out.
  • What part of the newsletter, if any, do you look forward to reading the most?
I love the plot overviews. It helps me keep track of what is happening in other factions. I really like the state of the faction parts.
  • Would you like to see any part of the newsletter changed?
Maybe add to the PvP part what the PvP was for. ie "Steve Jedi died fighting for kelp harvesters on Taris."
  • If you could add a section to the newsletter, what would it be?
Maybe a census of the game as a whole? "Currently the OE has # of characters"
  • Is there any other feedback you would like to provide? If so, please do.
Thank you so much for all you do!

  • Do you read the newsletter? If so, how often?
    Yes. Several times.

  • What part of the newsletter, if any, do you look forward to reading the most?
    PVP and other daring plots.

  • Would you like to see any part of the newsletter changed?
    For increased readability I'd like:
    • The orange section headers as large or larger than the blue and white sub-headers
    • A few line breaks after each orange section
    • The sub-headers either all blue or all white

  • If you could add a section to the newsletter, what would it be?
    Satisfied with the sections.

  • Is there any other feedback you would like to provide? If so, please do.
The pictures and twinkly background were very pretty. Talking directly to readers in an active voice made the newsletter, staff, and the site feel very accessible and welcoming.
