The strike on Corellia had been whole and devastating. The news continued to spread and that would help divert attention away from anything that his other brethren were doing. That was the point and he arrived at the Knights of Ren's stronghold to meet its leader. Ender's interest in the Knights escalated after the assault, seeing the efficiency and manner it was taken care of. He could be apart of something like that. One of the Knights had given him the information of where their stronghold was and how to contact Kai and he did.
Ender arrived hours earlier then he was supposed to, wearing his mask that he was growing quite accustomed to in the short time he had worn it. He explored the castle for a little, first arriving at the library and inspecting it's numerous volumes of books before h eventually arrived into a large room with a black long table down the center of it. Chairs lined the sides and there was one on each end of the table. It was completely vacant it seemed a good place as any to conduct their meeting. There was a chandelier above that lit the room enough but left shadows in the corners. His head turned to one of the corners but he just went to the table after a few moments.
He sat down at the head of the table, waiting there for Kai as it would finally strike the time for them to meet. There was one entrance and it was a set of double doors. So, Ender waited there with his gaze rested on it as he crossed his legs and sat in the chair patiently. What would his new life be like as a Knight of Ren? They certainly were a different pace then he was used to but he welcomed the new change that would come. The Knights had a mission now and it was their war against Rangers and Jedi alike and he wasn't going to let anything get in his way.
Cuga Ren was late. Like, probably an hour or two late. And that was when he was expecting this to be some sort of all afternoon sort of thing. "At least I won't get bored waiting around." His helmet's voice modulator making the sound deeper and warped.
The overcast sky around the temple had gone quiet from a passing storm. But the clouds soon echoed the screams of a TIE starfighter. Moments later the personal ship of Cuga Ren came bursting through the clouds before pulling up only a few meters above the cliff face. The vessel would pass over the area and notice any parked ship out in the open. But he would end up landing his own ship in the hidden cave that acted as a hangar for Fortress Infernum.
"Beep me if anybody besides me come by the hangar." He said as he prompted a seeker droid from a stowage container in his ship. Malakai liked the security of his property. The droid drifted up into the dark recesses of the cave with a directive to just sit and observe until it was told otherwise.
It was no surprise that Cuga Ren had arrived second to this meeting. He took the underground passage directly to the Fortress. The protocol droid had already begun working up some food by this point or at least been on standby as a host should a welcomed guest arrive.
Entering the room the doors swung open though slowed just before slamming into the walls. It was an 'off the grid' type of structure anyways and Malakai really liked the rustic yet classy feel of analog doors. "So...how do you put on your pants?" Underneath his helmet he was grinning from ear to ear.
Ender remained in the chair the entire time, his finger idly tapping rhythmically to pass the time. The wait wasn't a dilemma for him and he would mediate with the force. His mind from time to time would still suffer the effects from the Darkside poison that infected his mind months ago and he would take his time to help nurture it. With Kai choosing to arrive later than intended, he pressed a button on his gauntlet to act as a signal for the others. They would start to infiltrate the castle and wait for the Legionnaire to show himself. As time passed, he eventually caught the sound of a ship swooping by, the engine giving its familiar scream. The ship certainly knew how to make an entrance. It would only be a matter of time now before he would finally meet Kai face to face.
When the doors opened, Ender's head tilted slightly as Kai entered. He stood up slowly from the chair, placing both of his hands on the table as he rested them there and left his gaze on the Sith. "One leg after the other." He replied nonchalantly before just continuing on, "I'm glad you could join at your earliest convenience." His tone was dry but there was undeniable sarcasm. "Since it appears there are more pressing things at hand for you, I'll make this quite brief." Golden eyes would suddenly appear in the eye sockets of his mask as he spoke, "We thank you for resuscitating the Knights when no else would but as of now, you are being relinquished of your position as leader. Effective immediately, I am taking command of the Knight's of Ren."
Ender didn't know how Kai would react to his words, the force subtly building around him in case this turned into a fight. "Regarding the others, the change has been agreed upon by them." That's when both of them would sense new signatures reveal themselves inside the castle. "And those would be the Knights themselves." His gaze remained locked with Kai's for a few moments longer and have his final words, "As the leader, my first order of business will be this. You are relieved of your services and are no longer a Knight of Ren.
Shor had, at some point, landed elsewhere in the Maw and made his way into the fortress. He hid his presence for some overdramatic reason he didn't quite understand. He had been asked by the leader of the strike against the Corellian Ranger station if he would support him as leader of the Knights of Ren. Shor was beginning to think he may have been misunderstood.
The big wookiee was of coursed dressed in his Ren armor, helmet and all, his lightsaber separated into its constituent halves, one in his right hand and the other on a left side belt clip. As of of Sin's reveal during the attack they'd stopped bothering with concealing lightsabers it seemed. His E-11D was as always on his left thigh as well.
At some signal or sense of timing Shor ceased suppressing his presence in the Force and stepped his way through the doors into the single entrance meeting chamber. His hands were by his lightsabers, Dark Side seething and surging, bubbling away beneath the surface, but it was directionless. It was clear through the Force he was irritated, but that irritation was not particularly directed. While he had said he would support Ender as the leader, what he'd meant was if he took the position himself.
Shor would not back him up if he wanted to swarm the snarky one with the angular and complicated mask unless he had good reason to. Besides encouraging a repeat performance by someone else, it just generally said Ender would need backup to enforce his position. This went against Shor's personal beliefs in more ways than one, resembling the sort of scheming Hutt gangsters would sink to in order to remove a rival.
If the leader-to-be wanted Shor's loyalty, he'd need to take his position the old fashioned way. So he stood where he was by the doorway, letting in other Knights but ready to prevent either Ender or Malakai from leaving the room should it be attempted without a leader being decided. He also intended for his presence to discourage sudden sneak attacks or backstabbing and so his senses were well sharpened and ready for action. Just in case.
Several voices surged in his head simultaneously. Both hands at his side came up, palms facing the ceiling and reached out to raise the man at the head of the table up a meter off the ground by the throat. If he kicked and struggled his legs would miss the table and the chair. "Yeah...no." He said simply, interrupting the man along with the shwp sound of a force. Damn it. Why did he have to be THAT guy. Could have been friends. Guess I gotta kill him now. The usual shwp sound would accompany it the act, cutting of the man's words before even hearing 'others'.
One hand would maintain the raised force choke while the other drew the vibrosword from his back. "I wanted us to be friends." Shor was there, though that was certainly suspicious it was not an immediate red flag for a few reasons. The wookiee had been a simple and straightforward being. He bore no additional sense of hostility towards him though he also figured him to more of a 'stab you in the chest myself' kind of deal. In fact Malakai remembered asking if anybody wanted to challeng him when he first announced his own self appointing to the position.
There had been no other ships in the hangar and the droid had not alerted him of any additional arrivals. If Ender thought the others would come without his knowing he was mistaken. Though if there were some coming in some sort of belated cavary swarm even later than himself then he would know. But that wouldn't be in time for them to save Ender. So at least it won't just be you and me... His eyes focused towards Ender but thinking of the Wookiee. We'll have a witness.
Balal landed on the hanger that had been modified onto the base of the old tower. Like the meeting before with Cuga, his BG droid kept the Tie Elder prepped for flight. The Echani had been pulled away from his own goals once again for a meet and greet and a boasting of egos.
His worn silver and black ren armor cloaked his identity as always. His black lightsaber hilt at his left side, always at his side. The Echani was aware of why he and the others hand been summoned here. The cultist (Ender) had come to him after the raid on the rangers, and asked him for support after their successful message to the galaxy. While he agreed with the man's tactics, he would not lend his blade to the stranger based on a single mission. Rather, if the ren willed him to succeed over Cuga, then Balal would accept him and the leader of their group, but not before.
Balal had walked into the main room from the hanger. Taking in the scene of the two 'would be' leaders. He gave no comment. Moving slowly he stand across from the furball ren, who he had to admit he was surprise had not already torn the limb from one of these other two men for sheer entertainment.
Kholvar had been near Fortress Infernum for some time now. With Melkor's sudden disappearance, he'd sort of been coming and going from the place at his leisure. Today was similar, Kholvar having spent some time exploring the cave across the sea where Melkor had taken him to find his lightsaber crystal. It was a calming place for the Trianii, which might be strange to some.
Dressed in his full Ren get up, Kholvar meandered his way back to the fortress to discover that there were more people here now than were here before. A man named Ender had told him to be here and told him his plan, and Kholvar was more than willing to support him. The human had shown himself far more capable of being what the darkside required the Ren to be. Much more so than the ridiculous skull boy.
Kholvar felt the force ripple and change as he approached the tower. Something was brewing inside, that much was certain. With a quick leap aided by the force, the large cat entered the tower through an upper floor window. He would arrive in the room with Ender and Kai without possible impediment from the Wookiee, keeping to shadows for now.
Kholvar would wait for a moment before taking action, seeing if Ender could at least initially defend himself. Should he be able, the massive Trianii would be more than willing to enter the fight. The idea of a fair contest or a sense of loyalty to anything was laughable to Kholvar.
He would back Ender in any way that he deemed fit, and would rip off the limbs, eat the organs, and shit down the throat of any idiot in the tower that would get in his way.
What Kotor had understood of the Knights of Ren was that when the self-proclaimed leader's only call out was to a feast in the castle retreat of a disappeared Muun, that there was no leader. The knights only answered summons to fight and thus Kai's summons had been largely ignored save by a select few prior acquaintances. That had been the first of more annoyances for the Ren, who saw their notoriety stifled by other cultists and became open for a leadership change. Ender introduced himself by HoloNet and was deemed worthy as long as he took a more active approach to leading the Ren than Kai had done.
A WTK-85A Interstellar transport appeared from the clouds and swiftly approached the tower until it slowed down to a hover just outside the entrance. The ramp lowered and revealed a man dressed in black, holding a vibro-sword in his right hand and more importantly, he wore a Mask of Ren. The figure pressed a button on the intercom, "Land it on the mainland." The droid in the cockpit didn't reply. Its relationship with its master wasn't as jovial as was popularized in HoloNet comedies. It didn't talk back to him. How could it, for it was memory-wiped every day.
Kotor jumped down and marched to the main hall where he already met three others who wore the mask. He made no sign of greeting and ignored them in favor of watching Ender and Kai. It was slightly amusing how some refused to accept they'd lost the loyalty of their men. Even if Ender didn't manage to defend against the Force choke and die right then and there, the reason the knights assembled was because it was time to remove Kai's mask and a few deaths on their side wouldn't deter them. The Ren, the shadow, the Dark Side.. when did a little death ever stop them?
As Ender expected, he didn't take the news of his discharge all too well. However, he expected that he would react poorly and already had the force building around him in participation. He saw him lift his hands before the force wrapped around his throat as he was lifted up from the ground. If Kai thought he was simply going to be killed this pathetically then he was sorely mistaken. When his feet left a few inches off the ground, the force he had been building already was expelled in a force push that surged down the table and directly towards Kai a second after the choke.
If the force attack landed, he would be slammed directly into the analog doors behind him and dazed momentarily at least and break his concentration. Either way, he would need to move and break the choke he had on him if he didn't want to be hit. When Ender dropped to the ground, he stepped to the side and away from the table as he drew out his lightsaber instead of his vibrosword and activated it, a crimson blade erupting to life and basking him in red light as his yellow eyes shone brightly. "I questioned what to do with you but you answered that just now quite gracefully." Once again the force was called to him as he readied it in his left hand for either offense or defense.
Ender walked around the table and straight towards Kai, his saber in his right hand and his gaze fixed on his opponent as he watched for any move or trick he might pull. He was closing the distance with his weapon at the ready and his senses on edge, wanting to see how his opponent would react.
The Grysk saw his latest enemy lift off the ground. He knew well enough the people were around him, witnessing him disagreeing withh Ender's proclomation. But death by force choke was not swift and with the built up energy Ender had focused it was no surprise that Cuga Ren was thrown backwards.
Backwards, past any before they could react he would end up being sent flipping. They had chosen to stand as an audience so far. One hand still gripped the sheathed handle of the vibrosword, unable to draw it before he had been cast back. The classy doors were hurled back open, slamming against the walls of the third floor hallway and then closing making any lose sight of him for a moment as the Grysk skidded backwards with his feet and the aid of his free hand. He made a conscious effort to recover from the strike as he was alone in the hallway for at least a moment before he was assailed again.
Graceful? Just another voice Underneath the helmet he mouthed the words the voices in his heads said with increasing volume.
Rising from the stance Cuga Ren finished pulling his vibrosword and immediately began walking with focused blood lust. The moment the tip of the blade was free from its sheath it began to buzz slightly. He pulled a smoke grenade from his, holding it and letting the cloud begin to form in the hallway as the grenade spewed in his palm before he casually let it roll towards the entrance of the dining room and followed the action with manually triggering his rebreather. Then you'll die with regrets. He thought to himself at the front most of his mind, letting the smoke surround him as Ender began to prepare for what Malakai might do next. As long as he did nothing and the others did nothing, he would let the smoke continue until he was completely obscured by it.
Kai didn't just slam into the doors but went through them as they opened from his unexpected weight and flew into the hallway. The doors were about to close but instead, they were held open with the force as Ender quickly stepped through them after allowed him to see everything clearly of what Kai was doing and that was making a conscious effort to recover from the attack as he slid on the ground. Ender wasn't just going to watch as he recovered. With the push altogether, not that powerful and him colliding through the doors, it resulted in Kai only a couple of meters out of reach.
Ender still had the force ready at his command and when he saw that his opponent was recovering, he used the assistance of the force to leap out and close the remaining distance incredibly fast while he was doing so. His saber would come in as a quick horizontal slash at the hand that was extended out and placed on the ground for his opponent to stabilize himself, intending to cut it off from mid-forearm down and severing it.
He didn't wait to see if his strike landed or not as he continued with the motion of his blade as it swung and quickly taking a step back to bring his blade back at the ready for defense with it across his torso. Whether his hand would be severed or not, Ender would unleash a quick blast of electricity from his free hand afterward and directed toward Kai's chest, most likely preventing him from pulling out the smoke grenade and rebreather that he planned to do.
The doors banged against the walls singularly and almost began to close but they snapped back, flat against the walls before Kai allowing him to see the swiftly advancing man. His vibro-blade came down in front of him in just in time. His hand behind the guard of his blade as he had enough time to rise in a stalwart stance. The soles of his boots were going to be beat to kark after today. They skidded another few centimeters back as Cuga Ren blocked the strike Ender had lashed out with.
The assaulted dark sider was on the defensive. He had taken the first strike with his attempt at force choking the man but now the man was pushing back fiercely. Ender pulled back, ready to strike again like a coiled snake. The smoke grenade had not been reached but the Grysk was already changing tactics.
The empty hand cupped, showing Ender the palm as it saw the finger tips pointing at Cuga. He brough the arm to catch the lightening in an effort to minimize it with a technique he had studied awhile back. It was his first time really 'catching lightening' so he he expected it to hurt. And it did. He gritted his teeth, but some of the energy still remained in his palm, fizzling out at least telling him that part of the damaging attack was nullified. THAT hurt For a moment the voices quieted. The hand he had used to block the lightening spasmed momentarily. The entire exterior of the hand smoked and rose with a slight acrid smell to it. Malakai formed a fist, focusing and steadying himself in the force. While the injury was a loss, he felt a sense of clarity.
Fortunely for Kai, he pulled out his weapon in time to deflect the swipe directed at his hand and saved it from being disconnected from his body. It took some skill to be able to deflect the blow but it was a trade-off as it meant he wouldn't have time for the lightning after the recovery as well, at least not fully. His opponent pulled an expensive move to somewhat absorb the lightning, it still charring the armor around his hand as it would start to burn the skin underneath but the pain nullified as it was his first time ever pulling it off in combat.
Ender was able to see the damage done even as Kai was absorbing it and with the electricity still flickering between his fingers, he would continue to make it spill out but in a stream directed right at Kai while he continued to use the technique in order to lock him in maintaining it and not give him a moment's rest. With his opponent not having a full grasp on the ability, he would maintain the stream of lightning and it would continue to charr and burn along his opponent's arm he was using to absorb the strike if he held it since it was his first time using it and not prepared fully for the move. It would be severely painful and most likely start to break his concentration as it would cause more muscle spasms to that arm and render it useless in further combat or even more damage across his entire body. The move his opponent was utilizing required much more concentration and could be very detrimental if it was interrupted compared to Ender who would just continue to use force lightning, a concentrated and continued stream of energy only directed at him.
If Kai managed to somehow avoid continuing to use the technique in order to save his energy, then the lightning would come in quickly as his affected arm spasmed and possibly engulf it in another round of lightning that would cause much more damage to it.
There was a short distance between the two even with the step back and as Ender kept shooting lightning at Kai to eat his concentration and arm, at the same time, the saber would be at his torso and at the ready for a strike or defense if there was an opportunity for it to happen. Ender's gaze remained on his opponent the entire time, ready for whatever he would try to do.
Ender did not stop at just the first projection of lightening and subsequently Malakai would not stop catching it with his curled hand. But after the initial burst the man had compensated for where he realized he was lacking in his defensive technique. For the rest of the duration Cuga Ren's hand let the electricity form into the palm of his hand, slightly becoming easier though the man knew that he was going to become tired if not electrocuted the longer this went on.
The force lightening of the man was not as damaging as he might think and less distracting for a fellow dark sider. The scaring on his hand would be permanent and gruesome. As Ender continued the electric attack Cuga was able to keep the spasms and pain to his arm. The sword in his other hand swept out as he leaped forward, continuing to utilize tutaminis as he advanced. If the man kept it up while he closed the distance then the savage nature of the lightening would end up having Ender risk hitting himself.
The red blade of Ender's saber was a known factor and not easy to miss. The first strike would be aimed to horizontallly strike the man from his left to right side before pulling back. Cuga Ren's modulated voice roaring as he emphasized the hit with primal noises in the heat of the moment. The tip of the blade pointed towards the man ready for another lung with greater reach or defense. He was not going to stay on the back foot all day.
It kept Kai into maintaining the technique in order to absorb the electricity but it didn't as much damage as he predicted. It still burned and scarred the opponent's arm and would sting every time he tried to use it but it wasn't completely lost. With the electricity streaming out his fingers and directly to Kai, even though he was absorbing it, it would slow him down momentarily and let Ender be able to see that he intended to slash at him with his sword and give him enough time to react.
Just as quickly as he could continue the electricity, he could shut it off and he did once Kai would be close enough that his powers would start to be harmful to him. Ender easily brought his blade across to have it collide against his opponents but before he could pull back his weapon again in a defensive nature, he would try and return the same treatment that Kai gave him. The force would wrap around his opponent's throat quickly after the deflection and would raise him in the air a few feet of the ground. Kai would be choked momentarily but that wasn't the point, instead flung out the nearby window in the hallway and onto the roof of the fortress as glass shards would shatter around him.
Ender would step out from the window, his golden eyes glowing as lightning and thunder erupted throughout the sky above them. The ocean seemed to be spectating the fight itself, the waves building up until they would crash against the side of the fortress, their own version of applause. The roof was wide enough that the two of them wouldn't have to worry about space unless they reached the end of it. The rain poured down heavy, the droplets burning as steam hissed from Ender's crimson blade. His gaze remained on Kai as he would start to walk towards him, his grip on his weapon tightening.
Ender kept his blade, following through as Kai brought the blade back but the two weapons never lost contact. The vibrating blade held fast against the humming lightsaber between them. His left arm was still spasming slightly from the electricity that had stopped so his next though. Use something elseHis leg swiftly came up as the arm reached out to choke him. His body stepping into the kick, pushing Ender's blade back. The target of Kai's kick. None other than the Halcyn family jewels. Even if he was still raised and choked the connection with the rather sensitve region would break the man's concentration and subsequently drop Kai as soon as it had raised him.
The blade was stopped by Ender's saber and the force successfully wrapped around his opponent's throat and started to lift him in the air. Kai's left arm was still suffering from the consequences of the lighting and it seemed he wasn't able to utilize it. He stood in front of Kai the entire time and that meant he was able to see the kick coming right for is groin region. It appeared his opponent wanted to determine this duel by dirty tricks instead of the honorable way.
Ender couldn't avoid the kick cleanly if he wanted to and that meant that he wouldn't. The kick would come straight for his groan but he would bring his right leg forward slightly in front of him and requiring almost less than a second to do so, the one away from Kai's blade with his lightsaber still in between it. He would twist his body slightly as well, protecting his crown jewels even further. Instead of hitting his jewels, the kick would strike him in the thigh and leave a nasty bruise there most likely. He would let the strike push him back away from Kai and his blade to create some distance between them by his own move as he would be in the air by that point from the choke and unable to do another kick again. It would hurt but it wouldn't shatter Ender's concentration and he tightened the force around his opponent's neck like a snake, constricting until there was no possible way for him to receive airflow.
If he couldn't break the choke again, then Kai would be suspended in the air a couple of meters away from Ender as he would stand there with his blade still at the ready by his side for another strike or dirty trick. He would continue to choke the air out of Kai's lungs until he would simply fall unconscious and remain suspended in mid-air.
The Grysk felt the force around his throat tighten and raise him off the ground. Ender moved back, separating himsself from the man as he attempted the same attack that Malakai had moment earlier. The kick had not had the intended affect but that just meant he had to adapt. Or die The voice inside his head sounded almost welcoming.
He dropped his vibrosword and the blade would sink point down into the ground with the hilt towards the ceiling. It was not that big of a loss. The man was too far away now to swing and hit him. With empty hands he would raise them both. One shot lightening, the other a force push. Ender was still concentrating on keeping the doors open as well which helped sap the strength but maybe he considered having an audience worth the expenditure. Maybe he was just forgetful. But the force choke on the Grysk was not enough to stop him dishing out his own attack.
The left hand was not his primary concern anymore. The smoldering appendage was not the thing being harmed. It let out push meant to knock the man off his feet. Especially with his twisted form to try and avoid a kick he would be easier to knock over than before. The other arm, now free of the vibrosword shot force lightening of his own this time. Both were sent with more force than necessary but Malakai wanted to make sure it broke through the force choke this time or at least make Ender pay for the asphyxiation attempt.
The kick landed but where Ender wanted it to, his thigh instead of his jewels and with hitting that area, it didn't break his concentration for the choke and the force constricted even tighter around his opponent's neck until it was impossible for air to fill his lungs. It pushed him back slightly but wasn't powerful enough for him to lose his balance. Kai would most likely have his vision blackening at that point, bright dots starting to appear out of nowhere as Ender had maintained the choke the entire time and squeezed with all his strength. His opponent dropped his weapon and completely neutralized that factor for Ender to worry about and it meant he could easily bring his blade back to his torso to absorb the lightning that would be weakened by a nearly unconscious Kai.
While Kai used his left hand for the push at the same time, it wouldn't be as powerful as he imagined with the ligament severely scarred and burned as well, being choked of oxygen and utilizing another power at the same time. It would successfully land against Ender but only make him skid back as he could easily regain his footing after once he stopped and there was some distance between them. The entire time the hold was still held around Kai's throat and would continue to practically crush it as the force moves he did would only hasten his defeat and drain him. Even during this, Ender's saber remained in his hand and by his side even if there anything Kai could possibly do.
It wouldn't be long before his opponent would finally fall unconscious and be held in the air still by the force. Ender's eyes burned into the previous leader of the Knights of Ren, gold that was almost as bright as flames, waiting for his victory to be fully confirmed.
The already darkened third floor hall grew darker still. The damaged arm dropped first, swinging as Malakai lacked the strength. His right hand followed shortly after. The blue arcs of lightening ceased and his body stilled. The eye behind the mask of Cuga Ren closed and the body of the man they belonged to grew still in turn.
